The Southern governors' forum declaration will stand. To overcome this, he would had been picked H.E. Wike as VP. Gov Wike has been the backbone of PDP supporting all court cases and also stoutly opposing the federal government.

He will be silent now and concentrate on how to win his home state for governor.

Atiku has diminished his chances further with the choice of Okowa.
This is an average-poor performing governor with no strategic pull to win votes for him in the SEast nor South South.
Okowa cannot pull electorates with a mind of their own to vote PDP in the SEast and doesn't have the governors in the SSouth to release funds and do their usual vote buying and voting by intimidation in the SSouth,so of what electoral value is he?
He may even struggle to win Delta and Edo while likely losing Rivers,Akwa Ibom,Cross Rivers and Bayelsa states.
Despite Wike's noted thuggery and tendency to backstab his mentors,as far as today's Nigerian politics is concerned,Wike knows how to play the game better and would have got Atiku far more votes than anything Okowa can bring to the table.

Nigeria is one of the most religious country in the world , and those saying religion doesn't matter in our election are very far from the truth

Of all the contenders in APC, the person who has something reasonable to return to at home is Tinubu. If Ameachi, Osinbajo, Amosun, etc lose the primaries, what more political relevance do they have? How many of them can lose the primaries and pose political threat?
