Many things needs to be sought out before moving to next election...it doesn't cause INECNG anything to conduct an e-voting even with lesser amount than that budgeted for 2019 election, but our corrupt politicians .Will not want that , because that only will give back POWER TO THE PEOPLE...where there would be no more vote buying and are political leaders must work for the people to get reelected and will also ENCOURAGE more people to vote as they will have confident on the process.....BRO. Democracy Day: Show of shame by past Presidents, Heads of States

Shunning June 12 Democracy Day celebrations is the clearest indication that most of our past Presidents and Heads of States were only about their selfish goals and not about Nigeria. They will do everything possible to make Nigerians know they are sulking; this includes shunning Democracy Day celebration.

The skewed thinking of many Nigerians and their joy that former Presidents and Head of States did not attend the Democracy Day celebrations is a pointer to our problems. Not only is their joy misplaced, it is very ridiculous.

As past Presidents and Heads of States who have claimed at different times that the June 12 election was wrongly annulled, one would expect that even if they failed to declare June 12 as Democracy Day, they will at least grace the maiden celebration.

But not our past Presidents and Heads of States, they have their own agenda and they do not want to see Nigeria celebrate anything. What is more appalling is that some of them have claimed to be true democrats, how can this be?

Their actions and utterances show that they were never democrats, speak less, leaders. A leader is a person who defines and exhibits moral and ethical courage and sets an example for everyone else. What kinds of example have this lot set?

It is often said that true leadership is all about developing people and helping others reach their full potential, please how have our past Presidents helped Nigeria to reach its goals? The election is over, the case is in court, that does not mean that they should carry their hate and divisive embryo everywhere they go.

Nigeria is much more than an election and Nigeria is in dire need of true leaders, leaders who do not politicize everything. What is more painful is that African leaders graced the occasion that our own past Presidents shunned. What an irony, Nigeria who claims to be the ‘Giant of Africa’ displaying its problems in open glare.

I think it is a shame on all the past leaders save for General Yakubu Gowon who I believe was unavoidably absent. As for President Goodluck Jonathan who many applauded for his big heart in the 2015 election, I think he might be losing the plot. We know who Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is and we have seen how he is trying to drag Nigeria down because of selfish reasons.

Only yesterday Babagana Kingibe confirmed that Obasanjo was one of the architects of the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
President Jonathan should not go down that route. He should not allow the same democracy that he preserved remember him in the negative. He is the reason why President Muhammadu Buhari can declare June 12 a Democracy Day.

To be frank, Baba OBJ brought Justice and sanity to Nigeria, mostly the military which was divided across various lines after the June 12 saga. They brought him to bring peace as he first did as the military head of state, when they were serious face off btw the Igbos and Northerns military officers on leadership tussle that lead to the death of Late Gen. Ironsi from the East and others from the North, as such, Gen OBJ as a neutral man then was brought by the military council to bring sanity, Justice and peace, which he did and handed over to Late Baba Shagari... as such same people that killed Late MKO Abiola went to bring Baba OBJ to come do thesame and supported him against the SOUTHWESTERNERS choice, Baba Olufalae.

No doubt baba OBJ didn't work for the interest of the southwest but for Nigeria in general, and personally, there is NO president that would say he worked for his region including Baba Buhari, and it's not possible as a president of a Nation not a region, former GEJ could not fix the road to his house in his town, not because he cannot release the money or he cannot use his personal money to do it, but most people wont understand until they get there. Even Baba Tinubu that seems to be saying he would fight for the Yoruba interest if given the opportunity of OBJ cannot do it, I understand that it's politics. Even Kastina state has produced the president twice cannot be compare to Kaduna or Adamawa that has never for once...



Baba OBJ reform on the Armed forces really help the southerners mostly the SOUTHEASTERNERS that had never produce a general after the death of Late Gen. Ironsi, we have many senior Genearals from the south mostly from the Southwest and even the police but just that Baba Buhari didn't not trust them if not before the fmr IGP and presently IGP, the most Senior is from the south west. He sanitize the military recruitment process by scrapping bazawa and also shared cadets slots to be by states normination to involve all state including the fct in the system.

Also, presently there are common modern innovation in most smaller African countries that Nigeria is lacking that could help us fight against Boko haram, power sector...but govt. is not looking that angle again, but Baba OBJ was able to launched the SAT1, NIGCOMSAT dat was poorly managed by subsequent govt. and this is one angle that govt. could use to monitor and defeat Boko Haram, I remember the his brave act when he came to Adamawa to dialogue with one of Boko Haram senior member for them to drop there arms as a US, UK, BELARUS, VIETNAM... trained battalion officer before the guy was killed, he knew them just like some of our leaders in north that had once used them politically, he caused troubles in their camps via military tactics and they started fighting themselves which was oneoof the reason that eventually led to the splitting of Shekau' group, where Habeeb(Albanawi) group was formed and because GEJ refused to work with Baba OBJ, it affected his govt. and couldn't check the Albanawi's group but with serious effensive at the Shakau group in soutbern Bornu before the 2015 that add to the neutralization of Shakau strength, despite Baba OBJ's warnings and that Habeeb that OBJ could have talk to personally to drop arms and would gladly listen , is the one killing our people and soldiers northern Bornu, which is a no go area presently... But may prayer is that Allah, the most beneficient should bring Baba Buhari and Baba OBJ together to form a good front and defeat these enemies killing our people and soldiers almost on a daily basis...Amin.



From the NATIONAL angle, Baba OBJ has done alots and deserve better, because his good deeds supercede the bad part of him. Tho, because Late MKO Abiola is not alive many betrayal from SW and nigeria at large will claim to have worked for him.

Adewuyi Adegoke (pictured left), a pastor at Methodist Church, Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti state, has been arrested by the police for allegedly organising his own kidnap.

TheCable gathered that Adegoke had arranged with one Oluwadare Sunday to demand N3 million ransom from his congregation.

He reportedly went into hiding on Sunday evening while there were reports that he was abducted between Esa-Oke in Osun state and Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti.

His purported abductors later contacted the church members to demand the ransom, which they insisted must be paid latest by Thursday to prevent the reverend from being killed.

Detectives, however, intercepted the pastor’s accomplice, Sunday, who came to pick up the ransom at Okeyinmi area of Ado-Ekiti, after which he led them to the hotel where the pastor had been hiding.



Detectives reportedly tracked the suspects through the mobile phone that he was using to make contact with the church members.

Amba Asuquo, commissioner of police in Ekiti, confirmed that the command is investigating the incident but refused to confirm the identities of the suspects.

“Yes there is something close to that, but we are still investigating and will come out with the details later,” he told reporters.

As soon as Ovie Omo Agege was declared the elected Deputy Senate President of the newly inaugurated 9th Senate, celebrations rent the air from across every part of the country except that the Igbos were cold.
Igbos hardly could stomach the defeat of their son to a son from the Urhobo constituent part of the Niger Delta. As at the time of my writing, No Igbo has been seen to have congratulated the new DSP. Some of them, including a Nairalander( igbo), created a thread announcing his quitting politics on the account of the defeat of Ekweremadu while many others, in a very shameful manner with shared sentiments, derided the person of the distinguished Senator Omo Agege with all kinds of insults so much so their forked tongue hypocrisy was made more prominent. Their reactions to say the least were utterly disgusting, whereupon the South South however must have a rethink.

Shortly after his humiliating defeat, Ekweremadu, in a bid to save face, gave a reason so stupid that makes him look too stupid in the eyes of a slowpoke. It came to no sane individual as a shock that his kinsmen would parrot his line of thoughts much as ridiculously as they are naturally wired.
Why are they conveniently unhappy with the SSoutherners those at ease they hypocritically tag along?

Consider this for a second; If Goodluck Jonathan had contested and won the 2011 Presidential election against an Igbo candidate, Would the Igbos have been happy with the South South?.. Before you say Yes, gently ponder on the atavistic egoism of an average group of people who consider it an affront having the minority SS knock them off the perch, down the lower rung of national relevance. Do you think such a people would have been graceful in defeat?.. But thankfully, Gej contested against a Northerner, thereby their support for him was robust and seemingly genuine.

However, this thread is not aimed to disparage any tribe rather a reawakening of the consciousness of an average SSner to age long falsehoods, wickedly culture of fake love and hypocritical political alignment for the sole purpose of economic domination. Quite unfortunately, a lot many SSners had lost touch with a sense of history of the pre-independence when their forebears were marginalized, victimized and subjugated during the defunct Eastern Igbo-dominated regional government. The voice of the past minorities couldn't have been wrong neither do the present elites of the minority subgroups whose disaffections for their friendly oppressors could have been more vociferous. The lesson thereof to the South South is such that they must get rid of the monkey off their back and believe that they could achieve whatever they desire just as they did earlier today.
