"I get am before" doesn't count. We Igbos hate" I get am before". Today, Hausas and Yorubas are leaving off the wealth of Igboland and Niger Delta. Cocoa can't sustain you, a population of over 45 million people. We Igbos are subsidizing you and we expect some respect and gratitude from you guys. Lagos was built entirely from oil, Abuja the same and all the state capitals.
see comment, nt ur fault anyways bt dat of our clueless leaders who depend solely on oil.Nig have ova 30 natural resources, d bitumen in ondo (untouched) alone is enough to tile d whole of africa.Erase dat belief dat Nig can't exist without oil.In fact, many things have worsen. You can't compare education in the time of leaders like Awo to nw.Cocoa money was spent on many projects which are still in existence till now.The great OAU was built with cocoa money which was also African most beautiful campus after its completion. The problem of nig is nt resources bt MANAGEMENT.Meanwhile, u need to read abt all british colonies and der present status among cities in der country, saying Lagos was built by oil is ntn bt an erroneous statement...and lest i forget, u n
eed to know dat oil will eventually dry up one day.

Case won't fly,Jonathan is legally qualified to contest. He only completed a term for which Yar'Adua had already taken the Oath for 2010.
Now,whether he's qualified intellectually and in other ramifications is what Nigerians get to decide February 14
....if the provisions are interpreted without prejudice...Jonathan has no right to contest...whether the first term wasn't his or not, as per d provisions, he can't contest after been sworn in more than twice and he can't use more dan 8 yrs in office. This is a big issue that threatens d validity of the constitution of our country, more attention need to be given to dis issue rather than buhari's certificate brouhaha.Note dat dis same act of ignoring d provisions of d constitution already happened in ekiti state.Dis need to be stopped!

Science/Technology / Could Isaac Newton Prediction Of 2060 As The End Of The World Be True? by DarePeters(m): 10:17am On Jan 24, 2015
Sir Isaac Newton didn't just spend his time figuring
out how gravity and laying the scientific
foundations for how we conceive of the physical
world to this day. He was also a radical Anglican
theologian who believed that to worship Christ was
to worship a false idol. And he also applied
mathematical logic to the Bible in order to
construct elaborate prophesies about the end of the
world.
His calculations led him to believe that the world
would end 1,260 years after the foundation of the
Holy Roman Empire. The apocalypse couldn't
occur before 2060, he believed, though he
remained hesitant to confirm any single expiration
date...the question is, could his prediction be true?

Politics / Re: 2015: PDP Has Formidable Opponents, Says Mark by DarePeters(m): 9:36pm On Dec 13, 2014
limamintruth:

Which kain yeye news be dis @op undecided
Even kindergaten kids know that Buhari is a formidable opponent to pdp's GEJ.

This is solely because APC is the strongest and biggest opposition party in nigeria at present and Buhari is its presidential candidate. Thus, the strongest opposition party's candidate automatically qualifies as the foremost strongest opponent against the pdp's candidate at the presidential level.
What a narrow-minded view!Party or no party,Ebele can't stand the heat of Buhari.I guess you don't know what it takes 4 a soldier to overthrow a civilian govt to become the head of state.

Mihailo Tolotos a Greek monk who died in 1938 at the age of 82 was perhaps the only man never to have laid eyes on a woman.Mihailo's mother died when he was born and the infant was whisked away the following day to a monastery atop Mount Athos. Tolotos spent the remainder of his life among the monks completely isolated from female society. Women and even female animals were prohibited from entering the monastery, a tradition dating back to the founding of the retreat more than nine centuries earlier.......(To me, he's the most peaceful man that I've ever lived.)

Politics / Should Only Lawyers Occupy Legislative Posts In The Country? by DarePeters(m): 2:38pm On Dec 05, 2014
This issue I believe have been a debatable one among pple due to different views. The Legislature being an arm of the govt saddled with the responsibility of making laws performs an important role as the laws they passed after being assented affects all citizens. So powerful are they that laws can be passed even if the bill wasn't assented by the executive (president). All that is needed to be done is another two third vote of the law makers and the bill automatically becomes a law (I stand to be corrected). For an arm of govt as strong as this, most have argued that those who should occupy the posts are those grounded in the learning of the law and not lay men to avoid making and enacting of unjust and unnecessary laws while some have argued otherwise.Let's share our views on this.
Romance / Does Distance Really Diminish Love? by DarePeters(m): 1:52pm On Dec 05, 2014
It was all going well right from dat time pple call it a mere puppet love to a matured love of young adults. We loved each other dearly dat I once thought she would be mine from the crimson flush of youth to the gathering twilight of old age.Things changed when I got admitted into d university, she rarely picks my call now and never reply my messages. I think she's just being paranoid cos I still love her despite the grown distance...Dat question dat now troubles my mind is if distance reduces love...fenks in anticipation.

Education / Re: OAU Students Boo Jonathan by DarePeters(m): 9:11pm On Nov 28, 2014
emmasege:
Alumni and authority of OAU need to talk sense into the current & future students of that great school. This was the same treatment meted out to obasanjo BEFORE he became president in 1999 & the same thing being done to the incumbent & visitor to d university. For that singular act on OBJ, he never liked OAU throughout his reign as the visitor to the university. If GEJ does the same to u tomorrow, don't accuse him of marginalization o.
I remember how Abdul salam was celebrated when we were celebrating UIs golden jubilee. He was so celebrated that he could hardly walk into Trenchard hall. The man was so happy that he promised UI a new hall of residence which now accomodates PG students.
OAU students should know that not every federal university gets to host the president in spite of the fact that he's their visitor. Moreover, the motto of Ife says "for learning & culture". It's cultural to give honour to whom honour is due.
...and how does that concern us?The first thing u shud knw is dat OAU students are not the type to shy away from d truth. Our undoing in my humble opinion is our penchant to live in denial! We reel out the contents of our hearts and state unequivocally what we want...That is the GREAT IFE spirit that has been from the 60s.
