A2J: i believe about 80% (if not 100%) of gamers from 1990s started with PES(pro evolution soccer) and religiously follow the brand, I inclusive. My first experience with fifa was FIFA 11 and since then, i am hooked. That info is wrong dude. Fifa started way back in 1994, and has always out sold PES even though during the 6th generation of gaming consoles PES was the better game. |
You said in ur opinion, if we don't get the general knowledge(Wikipedia and dictionary )of courtship,we won't do well on this subject. Getting to know the parents of ur would be life partner isn't courtship ESPECIALLY in the context it's bin used by all in the world at large. I want to take us on a lecture but we must first establish a fact before we move on. And the fact is what is courtship ? Not ur opinion or waht u think but dictionary meaning PLS.
Mate you hav been going on and on about the meaning of courtship even with all d links given to you, so plz tell us d meaning of courtship so we learn. |
What does the word betrothed means ? Check and revert to me pls.The bible recorded that Mary was espoused(bethroted) to Joseph. Was that courtship ? Pls let's take it a step at a time. So others can learn.
Simply means promised in marriage or the period of engagement. Remember at this point she cld hav run away or refuse to marry him. Dude do some research. But again to ease things for u, anoda lite read. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engagement |
Courtship does not mean to attempt to win the love of the other person. Check ur dictionary and revert so we see if courtship truely means a period u get to know each other to see if things will work ! Please revert for us to discuss. Thanks
I now understand ur afinity to agree wit the pastor. Apparently you do not even knw the meaning of courtship. Well this is a lite read for you http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtship |
tex baba: The pastor may be rigth in some sense. This is d way I see it: if u court a gurl for 3 yrs, enjoying every every all in the name of studying her or him, nd later u discover that she is not ur type, u then move on to the next gurl rigth! After courting the new gurl too for abt another 2 yrs then she happens not to be ur type, u move on again abi. Then u court the 3rd gurl for another 3 yrs nd she may still not be ur type...how many girls ar u going to court before u eventually marry one? What d pastor is invariably saying is that courtship, no mata how long does not determine whether the marriage will be successful or not. In other words, he is saying don't marry d person u love but instead love the person u marry shikena! The pastor is not saying we shld marry strangers, if u see a gurl u think u like frm a distance based on character and or beauty, go for her. The process of planning ur wedding will be btw 3 to 6 months or more, that's some tym to do further study, not to disqualify her but to know more abt her since uve earlier find somthing marriable in her in the first place.Well I do not blame u for this illustration. What most fail to realize is courtship isn't all about sex. Pple hav courted witout having sex. This style of courting( wit sex) is modern and not the true meaning of courting. |
Dozymars,u said we should not follow any man made theory. Now tell us,where in the 'Godly theory'we were instructed or admonished to court like u just quoted? Can u sight any example of courtship in the bible ? Courtship is what is man made and not the other way round. Now this is just one poit from Ojigbani: Ask for God's direction. If HE direct's you,you don't need to court.
No wonder ur Nigerian pastors are getting divorced every minute. I hav seen a lot of pple who claim dey had spiritual divination and went ahead to marry pple dey jst met, guess what, a lot are divorced today, hell my aunt went to some Nigerian pst(if I rememba correctly it shld b bethel ministries), he prayed and pointed at some random fella saying that was her husband, guess wat after 6months she was single again, now after proper courtship she has been married for 8yrs. Don't get me wrong am not saying if u court ur marriage wld last but most tyms it prepares u for the unforseen except u hav been a fool. Bsides where in the bible is dere anytin against courtship since u claim the bible is where u get ur theory. |
Very very big lie. Mary never courted Joseph even for a second. Pastor Chris Ojigbani Knows exactly what he is saying and how i wish i have time now i would have by the grace of God enlighten most of us here on the issue of Courtship. It is in deed from the pit of hell. God is not and can never be in support of it.
Dude you lie, wasn't it d same mary that was bethroted to Joseph. I hope u realize dey knew each oda not canaly b4 Mary gave birth to Jesus. You seem to misconstrue courtship as being sex b4 marriage. My parents courted b4 dey got married and after 65yrs dey r still rocking. Stop throwing your ignorance around. |
This isn't new. . .they do it abroad too. A company pays for your education and you are obligated to work for them for a certain period. If you don't like the idea of working for a company for a specified time or having to pay restitution when you leave. . .then don't take their money for training or school fees. They ain't your daddy, why do you expect them to pay your school fees and request nothing in return? ![]() So how can it be slavery where there is a CHOICE in the matter? Last I checked, slaves didn't have the luxury of saying "As much as the whole binding me in chains and taking me to a foreign land to go work until I die sounds like an exciting life adventure, I'd much rather stay in my land but thanks for offer, really appreciate it."
You must think every Nigerian lives and works in Nigeria. No company abroad would ask you to pay for a training that strictly patains to its bizness. Its a different case when they pay for ur education or certifications. This is totally different from this topic. |
taharqa: How would govt subsidize d Telecom sector? The telecom sector has improvd tremedously in 9ja since its deregulatn, though it cud be much beta no doubt. It is growing, though infrastructural constraints may be limiting- govt ought to provide the right environment for these investors to enable them to grow even furda.....i agree wit u though that smtimes govt shld involve itself in sm strategic economic activities. While i bliv that d private sector shld primarily DRIVE d economy, i hv neva blivd that ' govt has no business in business'; govt shld however choose few such areas where it is strategic it shld play in- for instance, it shld lead in the laying of a national IT infrastructure across nation esp in underservd areas in collaboratn wit interested private sector playersThat my friend is called smart thinking. You asked d question and gave a wonderful answer to it. If everyone started thinking like this den we are on d way to d promised land. |
ballabriggs: So with deregulation, in Telecoms and the high demand for high-speed internet, why are the operators yet to lay their fibre optic lines for high-speed internet across Nigeria now?You are very correct with your analysis. The truth is some industries are very capital intensive and we might not have businesses in Nigeria dat can fund those industries, that is where govt plays a vital role. For instance if govt had subsidized d telecom industry partially Nigerians wld hav started enjoying the benefits of fibre optics. Was in Nigeria a few months back and was appaled by the speed of d internet and also the cost of such shitty internet. Some pple say d telecoms industry in nigeria has arrived and I say u are dreamers, for 15pounds on O2 netwrk in the UK I get 500messages to any netwrk, 100mins to any netwrk and landlines starting wit 01 and 02, monthly BIS convert dat to naira and dats about 3800 a month. If u had dat in nigeria calculate hw much u wld pay per month. Fact is u need govt for the economy to run, iff u leave everytin to d forces of demand and supply the economy wld collapse. Govt always has a role to play for the success of any economy. D tin is which way wld she decide to intervene. |
trillville: I don't mean to annoy u but nitel has not been privatized yet! I support deregulation( as in opening up the market space for private businesses) but not privatization as it is done in Nigeria. What I do not understand is why wouldn't a venture capitalist invest here without the removal of subsidies? You simply state a premise but do not go any further to explain what you mean. Are u trying to say venture capitalist do not trust the Nigerian government to ensure that their investments will be profitable and would rather simply conduct transactions directly with the poor Nigerian masses? See let me tell you something. I am a Nigerian and the only benefit I receive from my government is fuel subsidy. Other countries have quality free education in primary and secondary school. We get nothing from our government, so fg should repair it's image problem and not suffer us any further. You know the biggest problem we have in Nigeria is lack of exposure and very unsound education. There is nothing wrong with what you said earlier but the fellow billynaire has decided to act very chidlish and immature. A simple example of what you say is as seen in the railway system of developed nations. A ride frm southgate in d north of london to say victoria station wld cost about 5quid to a passenger but in reality it cost more dan dat cos d govt subsidises d trip for you, so in actual fact it mite cost up to 9quid. Note d trains cars belong to private individuals and d sector is properly deregulated. That is the kind of system we expect shld be applied to our oil industry, like it is done in saudi, Uk, USA, venezuela to mention but a few. Also note dat subsidys are not excluded to monetary payments alone. Taxes r anoda means of achieving this, der are oda means apart frm these. |
Ridiculous!!!! For the ignorant ones amongst us, having a large capital base does not make you a serious bank. If you want a really authentic list, you should visit forbes. You will need to know what the capiatl to earnings ratio is, etc. There are lots of other indices that are used to measure a banks worth. Capital occupies a small place amongst those indices. |
Ilekokonit:After all you have said who do you think is the tribalist!!!! SMH!!! When i see the comments here I shake my head in disappointment. They say we are the leaders of tomorrow and we still think like this. Are you all saying that all the Igbos and the Niger deltans in Nigeria were all in support of the fuel subsidy removal? How do you all expect us to move forward with the kind of statements you are making here. I am Igbo but I was against the subsidy removal but you have all termed me as a bigot. I was in London during the protest and joined the protest there and still you call me a bigot. Now you understand better why those people do not feel comfortable joining you in any protests, it's because of your closed mindedness. You guys are making noise about being sentimental but were you not all part of the sentiments to vote GEJ as president because he is a southerner and a Christian? Now he has gone wrong and you all want to crucify him and blame it on the SS and SE. Long live a united Nigeria!!! ![]() |
I keep hearing government is broke. Which government are we talking of? Nigerian government or Greek government. I was sitting a while ago with my Irish mate, he was reading the economist and he said to me, your country is in the news again. The summary of the story was $8 to $9bn is syphoned from the Nigerian economy annually by corrupt government officials. I have sat and listened to a lot of posts about the fuel subsidy removal. I agree it has it's pros and cons like some people have rightly pointed out. But a fundamental question remains,"how does this affect the economy as a whole?" Almost everything done in the country is tied to fuel, I do not know if the government realizes this. Increase the price of fuel and prices of most goods and services would go up. What has the government of the day put in place to cushion this? For instance we are all aware that all available means of transport in the country depends on fuel, what has the government done to alternate this? We also know most times most homes power their houses with generators that run on fuel, what has the government done to save them not having regular power supply? I have heard some people say that subsidy is not good but i ask what government in the world doesn't apply some sort of subsidy. From figures i have seen and posted in the past, countries who have crude oil as a major resource apply subsidy in the sale of PMS. We all a few months back joined in crucifying Ghaddaffi but apparently the tyrant knew the effects of not subsidizing PMS. Some pro government pundits have said we should trust the government that the pain would be for only a while, the savings from subsidy removal would be used judiciously but i ask how can you trust a government that said it would not remove the subsidy until April but goes ahead to remove it on the first day of the new year? Same government that has spent billions on fixing the power issue in the country but still a lot of Nigerians don't have power supply. A country were security votes makes up the biggest part of the budget and yet BH goes around threatening the lives of the citizenry. To be honest I reckon this might be the last straw. May GEJ not be the one to divide Nigeria!!! One more thing, to all those who keep saying God help us, God would not come down from heaven to sort us out, we have to do it ourselves. History speaks for herself. When people want to move forward, they stand up for themselves. |
I believe the question should be, "why is govt buying the trains in the first place". I believe all govt needs to do is build the rail lines, give it to private individuals to manage, knowing govt's track record at managing things and then get private individuals both foreign and local to put the trains on the rails. And then govt regulates what happens. Because we would watch this investment go down the drain like every other govt venture in the country. |
It's actually weird the things we fuss about. Do you guys know that even the owners of the language speak horribly!!!!! |
How can they be talking of devaluing the naira when the only thing we produce is crude and it is sold in dollars. We import everything, we need a strong naira to be able to buy things cheap. Where the hell did Okonjo Iweala learn her economics from!!!! When the right infrastructure has been put in place and Nigeria starts producing exports then we can talk of devaluing the naira. God help us!!!! |
Why is the story false, because the NNPC says its not true ![]() ![]() IF uou do not think the Nigerian govt can do such then you must be living on another planet or simply senile!!! I am very sure the only people who do not believe the story could be true are the GEJ blind supporters. |
Koikoi:If you do you would be the poorest man on the planet. The prediction was wrong again as usual. |
But this is not in accordance with TB's prediction. What were we expecting, a match were SE wld destroy the opponent? |
NIG 2, Where is TB ? |
TB Joshua should let us know what vision he saw. NIG 1 - GUI 1 |
77ken:Whoever you are you are one smart son of a gun!!!! @ekt_bear and billante he has posed a good question for you both. What is the price of petol in countries that produce crude in commercial quantities, what is the price of petrol in OPEC member nations These are the questions you should be asking and not comparing Nigeria to USA and UK were the standard of living is over 200% higher than Nigeria. Countries where their citizens receive benefits from the govt. Countries where you can see tax payers money at work. Btw, we can actually call subsidies our own benefits from the govt. The proper questions we should be asking is "why are the refineries not working", "why should we produce crude and send them abroad for refining" ![]() And not supporting the useless policies of our govt.@77ken; all these are per litre and not gallon like the OP has led us to believe Venezuela = $0.023 Saudi Arabia = $0.16 Libya= $0.17 UAE = $0.48 Qatar = $0.22 USA = $1.00 Russia = $0.94 Imagine people comparing Nigeria to UK and USA!!! They just would never learn!!! Its like comparing and elephant to an ant. |
BinghiNya:You were making some point until the highlighted. Anyone could have predicted what this fella is saying. The signs have been there for so long. There is also a lot of false facts in the article though. And apparently he knows nothing about Islamic banking. Just so that you all know it simply means interest free banking. Christian states were doing this before they abandoned it and went into capitalism. Then the Muslims took over and named it Islamic banking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it once you grasp the concept. |
How does increasing tariff help sort out the light situation in Nigeria when the infrastructure to deliver steady power supply does not exist. Someone mentioned telecoms, if I remember clearly it was even more expensive when we only had 090, so what is the rationale. I say bring in companies to deliver and generate power supply and let them through market forces set the price and see if people would not pay when they have 24x7 light. If the proper infrastructure is in place, e.g e-meters, when you don't pay your bills you don't get electricity. That automatically deals with people who refuse to pay their bills and officials who take payments and issue fake receipts. Increasing tariff without the product would only lead to more chaos. |
