Bisiebae:seat for the post jamb n try to score at least 30/40......There's still hope, you don't know what other's will get in jamb n post jamb........cut off is based on d pass rate for that year( do it can either increase or decrease) |
daudugodswill:In unilag, they don't offer any general course( although jupeb gave a directive that d students running d programme are to offer a general course)So, I think the English as no role to play in ur final result( since lt wasn't used last year)...... we were graded on d 3 core courses n not on d general course( English)......But just make sure u pass it since u don't know how you'll be graded this year |
Gbsks:I don't know, but it may also apply to d num of student's admitted into d 1st year so as to avoid a situation( just like what's happening now) whereby a lot of students don't cross. |
Gbsks:The number of students taken into d college as been reduced, so it'll affect d subsequent sets |

Medical students in 100 level at the University of Lagos and their parents on Wednesday disrupted academic and business activities in the institution. The protesters, who shut the university’s main gate, accused the university authorities of denying them promotion to 200-level. According to them, the authorities introduced some new academic rules that have denied many of them from proceeding to the university’s College of Medicine, Idi-Araba to continue their programme. The protesters also argued that the new scheme was to allow the authorities to admit diploma students to the faculty. The protesters alleged that the diploma students paid handsomely for the offer. However the authorities said the professional bodies regulating the study of medical programmes in the country, introduced a fresh index system to regulate the quota allocated to individual university. The UNILAG Head, Information Unit, Mr. Toyin Adebule, made this known in a statement on Wednesday night. According to him, UNILAG authorities will not want to flout such directive, as those admitted outside the quota will not be allowed to practice after graduation. The statement read in part, “This year, the professional bodies have insisted on the enforcement of the quota upon which accreditation is hinged and hence the college has had to conform. What this means is that only students that are indexed will be registered by the professional bodies to practice after graduation. “Senate at its meeting held on Wednesday, 27th January, 2016 had approved the implementation of the re-arrangement to conform to the professional bodies’ quota in order not to lose accreditation. This has regrettably meant that we have only been able to receive students into the college only up to the number the College of Medicine is allowed by the quota. “We recognise and regret that this has led to some students being unable to cross over into the College of Medicine or their course of choice. Consequently, all candidates who were not successful to be placed in programmes in CMUL have been allocated to appropriate programmes on the main campus in Akoka.” www.punchng.com/100-level-medical-students-parents-protest-in-unilag/ |
femozy:what!!!!!!!. Do u mean after they transferred u guys to another dept, they told u no space and u should defer ur admission to next year......This is extremely bad and unfair |
JustCare:i don't even know y u told me to keep quiet.... |
JustCare:you cant't blame me for saying d truth......am not saying what d sch did is right......i know its painful that some that met d previous cutoff didn't cross....i also have friends that didn't cross |
obi4eze:they were informed( although it came late b4 d beginning of their 2nd semester exam), but dey weren't told d new cutoff( which was based on d num of students required to crossover) not until d crossover list came out |
demi55:ok |
ibadanfinest:alot of students still didnt get up to 7points.........almost 1000 failed o.....i know many pple that got FFF |
ibadanfinest:Am not saying they'll take 50 utme and 100 jupeb students......i said another exam as been introduced so that in a situation wherby 100 jupeb students get 16points, some of them will b screened out reducing d number to maybe 60 depending on how many they wanna admit.......if the jupeb exam was/is cheap, y did alot of students fail d exam |
demi55:MLSCN and NUC had issues n NUC ordered jamb to remove MLS frm d list of courses on jamb website, but it was resolved around may n we were told to change back to MLS..... what's d name of that ur friend |

Abegi, u can check d DE admission list and Utme crossover list n tell me if d ratio of admission is 75:25( 75% for DE n 25% for utme)......its just for medicine that they took more DE than utme( even though utme students still have 18 more slots to fill since 72Students ( because they couldnt increase d cutoff further as they all got d highest point attainable)were taken frm DE n 60 frm utme( medicine quota is 150), dont know y d sch didn't take up to 78 MBBS students......But for other medical courses more utme students were taken( abt 30 or more)........Another exam as been introduced for jupeb medical students to crossover to CMUL( they don't want a situation whereby 100 jupeb students for MBBS gets 16points n they'll hav no choice but to admit all of them for MBBS just like what happened last year which may lead to taking just 50 MBBS students from utme, so this exam will b used to screen some of them out).......IN A situation whereby d number of students that met d cutoff used in d past are more than d quota, d cutoff willl have to b increased( just like what's happening now), although 50:50:50 was ok in d past but nt now.....so they had to use CGPA to screen some of them out.......( though they've been complaining d cutoff was/is too high even though they used 3.00 for some courses n even 2.4-2.8 for others apart frm medicine which is 4.11) d cut off was based on d number of students to b taken.....EG, nursing,d cut off was a CGPA of 3.02 which is d CGPA of d last person on d list..., For medicine that 4.11 was d CGPA of d 60th person taken on d list... |
demi55:They can no longer create space at idiaraba except if d course is nt completely filled.......there's a particular number of students that can be inducted into their various councils( depending on d course), like I said for medicine its 150 n for other medical n paramedical courses its i think 50...... if the number of students taken into d college is more than that, then there'll be issues.....for example, my dept MLS, two sets have graduated but non as been inducted into the MLSCN because they're more than 50 for each set.....our HOD said they're still negotiating with d council, but they can't make d same mistake again.....so I think this may also b another reason y alot of students didn't crossover |
demi55:no, but my friends are.....Am for MLS |
protonz:Are u Richmond, just saw ur name on d list....My friend was given botany( originally radiography too) |
labodinho:it hasn't been pasted yet, those concerned can meet d sub dean...She'll show u d list..part of it was sent to my whatsapp group chat....that's a page below
|
labodinho:yeah, i think so |
labodinho:courses under faculty of science n psychology (social science)...I haven't seen the full list yet, so am not completely sure |
Those that didn't meet their cutoff have been transferred to other deparments |
demi55:there was no other list , just 65 were admitted, u can check d list pasted on d notice board at idiaraba.....it also contains our matric numbers...... n besides they cant admit more than medicine's quota which is 150 n 95+60 is 155 which is not possible........Everyone is just carrying rumours around just to make those that entered with diploma look like d bad guys.......N also d reason y 65 were admitted is because they all got 16points which is d highest point attainable, so there was no way to increase d cutoff.........They also admitted 7 other students that applied with other certificates ( Cambridge A'level, etc) for medicine... nt everyone admitted through DE were diploma students.........which makes a total of 72 students admitted through DE for medicine.........78 slots were left for utme mbbs students ( don't know y they took only 60) |
protonz:but its so painfully to have to wait for another year......why will d transfer form close when they know d crossover list wasn't out..... it's a pity.......N d radiography list was released this afternoon, only 19students crossed over, cutoff 3.4 |
