Working remotely is the best in some cases, instead of Starlink that will empty my pocket, I got connected through MTN Fibre Broadband Unlimited with less than N50k and I pay 10k monthly for 10Mbps and I lived in a quite area with adequate power supply.

Last week I had an interview for a data analyst teaching job, after series of interview process which includes.
Analyzing data with Excel and BI
Extracting and cleaning data with Python &SQL
Modeling, analyzing and visualization with R.
Though my Python prowess wasn't that good but I was told that what they needed is a data analyst who can handle R very well and I really impressed in that aspect.

I showed my data analysis projects on the above software excluding Python. Then we went to oral interview which led to the salary part. I was asked to name my price.
I told them to give me a breakdown on how many days I will be coming to work because I learnt it will be part time teaching job, the interviewer agreed to mail me my schedule.

I was hoping it will be weekend (like Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday) only for me to realized it will be Mon-Thur (that's not part time, I told the manager or so).
The worst part is that they are willing to pay me 10k/week for the job and I will be paid each week I come to work which means it's only the weeks the students avail themselves that I will teach and be paid.

Those tech pay such ridiculous amount or am just unlucky?
What am I expected to do with 10k weekly?
Transport?
Data?
Food?
Electricity?
What exactly?

I was furious though and I am still furious.

Friend, it's better you start somewhere instead of complaining. If there's nothing better, use that to keep busy; forget the money; do the job well and hope for growth...

Before I graduated, I remember my mum was a bit concerned that I started doing home lessons (as if I can't simply get money from home). Well, as a young educational student, due to my changed life I no longer have friends to chill out with, so I started using home lessons to get busy and thereby build my teaching skills.

I did that for like 6 or 7 years (even during service and after graduation). However, lately I've taught foreign students from Asia, Europe and south America.

By God's grace I think I'm just beginning to get the benefit of starting small—like 2k or 3k lessons. Although I think I was also interested in the work not just the money.

It works well... My laptop was actually misbehaving because of another issue which I've fixed; not the method's fault. I can leave the wifi on now.

The method is good for those with data-hungry jobs, who wouldn't play with bandwidth. Like me, I teach via zoom. So having some funny updates constantly competing with video sessions can cost me the the job altogether.

The laptop I'm using is not really good with zoom functions that's why I've been having issues (it's a new laptop but it's processor is not great).

My method actually works—I've been using it again, since my data kept disappearing once I connect. Not only will it waste data, it will affect the quality of my online classes as well. So freezing that particular program works...

I'm planning to get a good corei5 anytime soon.

Windows 10 does not pity struggling Nigerians, it licks data like icecream.

Despite the fact I employed no nonsense Tinywall, Windows 10 still proved that it's still the host OS. Tinywall worked against all Windows and third parties apps except Windows Update. Even if you untick Windows Update and Windows Store Update in the "Special Exceptions" of "Tiny Firewall Settings" section, Windows will still update.

The solution - Edit the Group Policy
To finally stop Windows from updating and licking your data, you will have to edit the Group Policy. To do that follow the instructions below:

Run Command Prompt with administrator privilege

Goto:
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Template -> Windows Components -> Windows Update

From the list, find, open and edit and save each of the followings:

* Allow updates to be downloaded automatically over metered connections **set to Disabled
* Configure Automatic Updates **set to Disabled
* Specify intranet Microsoft update service location **set to Enabled
(Then type localhost inside all the 3 boxes)
* Remove access to use all Windows Update features **set to Enabled
* Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations **set to Enabled
* Turn on recommended updates via Automatic Updates **set to Enabled


Beware there is danger of not allowing your system to update with latest security fixes. Do the above if you know what you are doing.

I don't think you need to take it to anywhere. I experienced that too at some point. Try resuming them; patiently study the one that's eating data and suspend only them.

Wifi won't work at all if you suspend some certain ones...

But I'm glad I can leave my wifi one for hours without unnecessary disappearance of data for now...

Please I'll be expecting more about your experience... The only alternative is to downgrade to win7. I once installed a fixed wireless network few years ago with a local ISP (unlimited data), but didn't serve me well...

i can see svchost.exe. Are you sure that your system is not horribly infected with trojans?. I am guessing miner trojans. Your system is possibly mining crypto for one kid in north korea.

No friend, you missed the point. I meant virtually all you mentioned I had already tried and only noticed little or no difference: having watched few YouTube videos. Besides, it's not convenient to be monitoring data all the time—not as if it will resolve it.

Well, I'm not sure about those trojan things, but what I know is it works for now; and I mentioned there might be side effects of which I've not noticed yet—I am no tech savvy.

If it fails later, then my only resolve will be to downgrade to win7 like I did on one awhile ago. Cos my work is already a data consuming stuff, so this win10 issue is a no no for me. Not only data, but the bandwidth. I use video apps, so the imaginary updates (downloading) can easily spoil it...

The solution I found is to freeze or suspend any program you notice 'drinking' your data when network is on. It's been about two days or so now, and it works—my network monitor displays around 0.0k when idle; no more 3mb, 5mb, 10mb or 13mb per second... I wouldn't mind if I had unlimited data, though.

Search resource monitor, navigate and suspend "only" the hungry programs you notice.

Make sure to resume any program that affects your network/wifi. Target only the hungry ones you don't need.

I forgive them... I'm thankful God terribly dealt with my unforgiving spirit I suffered back in high school days. It was so bad that one of my nicknames has got Malice in it. But today people kind of get quite disappointed for failing trying to get me hurt.

Another thing is I get divine grace to forgive without them asking... And I've noticed people can take advantage of that or even hate you more.

So I've been dating this lady since early this year and everything has been going on smoothly, in fact I even had to tell my mom about her, the first time I would talk to my mother about a lady, but she sounded not too pleased about the lady. Someone she hasn't even met physically.

I've two younger sisters between aged 17 and 15, I didn't like the way they were dressed the last time I visited home so I always try to send them a token every month end to get new cloths. This Xmas I have a lot on my table and have been brainstorming on how to structure my expenses.

My babe is an only child and a fashion freak so she has loads of cloths in her wardrobe. She offered to give some to my sisters without me even asking. She gave me over 30 different pieces of cloths, and bought an ayaya gown or whatever its called for my mom worth around 15k. This is a student that doesn't even have a reliable means of income and I don't give her much. She opened up that she has been saving to get my mom a gift.

I called my mom this morning to tell her that I would be sending the cloths over with some other stuffs I bought for them and she outrightly rejected the girl's gifts citing spiritual reasons that she cant accept gifts from someone she doesn't know. She even accused the girl of trying to pressure me into marriage by pretending to love my family.

I am 30 years old and have dated countless ladies and none has showed genuine concern towards my family like this particular one. It would be so heart breaking to tell her that my mom rejected her gifts knowing how she enthusiastic she was gathering those items.

Sometimes I get tired of my moms spirituality, she's not considering that my sisters even need those items. Those cloths worth over 50k even as second hand materials. I don't understand why she would dislike someone she hasn't even met before.

How do I handle this situation, I don't know what to do with these items, I can't return it to my girlfriend cos it will really hurt her.

Well, I guess she would be comfortable if she was a wife. Some risks are difficult to calculate, so sometimes it's wise to say no.
