Omo

I have to commend Saliba again for him Usain Bolt mode vs Nunez. That Nunez no sabi. There's a high chance Salah passes to him and he'll flop it.

Another clip angle shows that Declan Rice deliberately blocked the line of view of Salah's left leg so he doesn't shoot. This clip makes me furious with Zinny again.

Question: How did City do it sef? 8th to 1st!!

I think Ndidi has actually improved, despite it being the championship.

Because as a matter of fact the Championship is far stronger than a lot of European top tier divisions. And moreover, there has beeen some notable improvements in his style of play.
Quite agree. His technical side has moved up a lil. The discipline in Leicester was limiting his other abilities, proving once again that mostly, a player's potential is directly proportional to the manager's style. Doesn't mean they can't or won't be able to do other stuff. I hope we see him on G/A sheets. I also hope our style of play is near modern enough.

Amokachi on creativity mode. This match showed the vision and quick thinking of the players. Something seriously lacking in this current set tbh. That Oliseh assist, e sure me that whoever was there after one look up would still be wasting time instead of dropping that Ozil pass once.

Zinny defended the way he knows how to. His positioning/ when defending is poor, he struggles with keeping the line and lacks recovery/ pace when beaten. Inverting him against intense teams that keep possession only exacerbates his deficiencies.

For instance, Martinelli loses the ball high up in Liverpool’s half which triggers a counter attack. When the counter starts, Zinny is already at a disadvantage because he has already inverted into the attacking (midfield) half of Liverpool, Havertz is also around that area.

He lacks the pace and when he finally catches up, his positioning is horrible, so he is easily beat. I have always suggested playing a flat back 4 in instances like yesterday.
Not only that sha. But his lack of Salah strength and weaknesses. That is the disrespect. Gomez and Konate did their own defending with regard for the strengths of our teo wingers. They came out tops. Zinny kept blocking Salah right instead of his left.

The wet pitch talks no be today sha

So we only focus on Zinny when Odegaard cause 4 💔 yesternight sha. 😆

They forced us to become direct and that was exactly what they wanted. Plus Zinny restricted to the touchline. Zinny underrated Salah mehnnnnnn. That's total disrespect. Compared to how Gomez and Konate handled our wingers.

Exactly, we're getting there. Hopefully, we'll have more strong quality bench coming in that we will all be happy about.

But on a more serious note, the question made me think, but not about our team. I had to see other teams too and their bench and I noticed that most of these teams would even love to have our bench as starters Tbh.

Na we dey underrate this team
The truth is there are teams in EPL that will bring the max out of this Nketiah we dey frown at. Same for Nelson. Players are at the behest of managers. That's why top experienced manager bring out at least 70% of a player under them unless they no wan align. And sometimes, talent is just too much(Ronaldinho) sotey any lifestyle can be ongoing but wont impact onfield. So, yeah, some teams want our players too. We also want some team players as well. Infact, Alvarez alone from City. O boi!!

In present reality Yes.

If Trossard for example, is playing for Man city or Barca or Madrid or so, you'll still point same Trossard as a quality option coming from Bench.

But now, he's with us, you think he isn't quality enough?

Lemme tell you the truth, none of Liverpool attackers fear me(aside Salah and Jota). Th rest can have the good days once in a while but they never scare me like the Liverpool I know. How much more "their bench"?
I'm not saying he's not quality. But back it up with stats na. Big games only.

Remember ratings of big 6 games player is a thing, using Heung Min Son as the face of that Table. Though not a sub. But easily gives results in big 6 games. We are getting there. We are! 😎

One thing I'm certain about is that most teams have dearth of attacking talents as bench. Gone are the days you'll have Ronaldo on the pitch and Ronaldo2 on the bench. The football world is no longer producing good attacking players for one to be easily benching.

Aside from Man city (with Alvarez), I can hardly count any other team that have quality sub attackers that'll grip the fear out of opposition when coming on(unlike those days).

Why we may not have the best and hope for improvements, sometimes I still feel we underrate what we have.

To put it fairly, Most top teams would Kill to have Trossard starting for them and not even on bench. The underrating is too much sha
Yeah. You're right. This is where usage of personnel is now the koko. Is like the selling off a player cos he no give desired results with a manager's game approach. Only to suddenly become a banger with a relatively less popular manager all rounda. Few clubs get maximum of a player's potential truly.

The predictability is why they struggle so much.
You could see them doing same thing over and over again that didn't seem to work.
This is an issue of improper development.
People are not seeing this because they score goals and make assists, but I've noticed this for a long time now.

The problem with an IMPROPERLY DEVELOPED talent is that they'll be found wanting when they're needed most. Why?
Because more than anyone else in the team, they're the ones most relied on for results.

Now, apart from goals and assists, let's be honest. How has Saka and Martinelli improved their game? Can you see it? I can't.

We saw how Alex Song grew and improved. We saw RVP, Fabregas, etc.
Among the major problem is the lack of models for them. They're their own models, and it doesn't work that way when you're not a TRUE special talent.
I will strongly disagree with you on this improper development talk. You're totally wrong there.

Have you seen Vini Jr and Rodrigo, both of Madrid doing like no be madrid dem dey upfront. Should i mention as many wingers that got predictable in last 5seasons from different clubs across 5leagues, with data to back up my stance?

Is Rashford improperly developed? Or should we go for Willian at Fulham? Or even Mudryk? I can go on but that's not for tonight.

Forget the development talk. It's not the case atall. Never was. Onana is predictable and has conceded 64 goals in 4months. Improperly developed??

Exactly, we just need a sharp 9 by January but that tactics shouldn’t limit Saka and Nelli outputs sha
my pov is both are kinda locked 🔐 right now in a way. If a 9 can unlock them and make that attack way lethal than last season, the MA needs to do the needful. Sometimes, it takes one signing to unlock some struggling players. Anything for a even better performance upfront is the goal. Right now, no be so.

Attached is Last Year’s official PFA EPL team of the year . Guess what ? Saka had 25 Goal/Assist contribution out of 88 goals we scored , e did that as a winger to earn a place on that team.

Do u know more than the PFA or what exactly ? Or u no just like Saka ?
Now imagine an actual 9 with that 25G/A too this season or next. That's my point. Saka and Nelli can't shoulder us always. I don't see it as "being reliant on the 9" because I've factored in days where many players won't get goals too. Nelli and Saka are on those kind of days this season, sincerely. What they need is someone to reduce that burden on them.

It's not like the everybody are even scoring. That's why Nketiah is our highest goalscorer after 18games.

Something needs to change up front. Nelli's performance tonight may be replicated on big crucial nights and it will be more painful then. This is just to buttress the Saka numbers case which may not happen if something doesn't change.

A bitter fact is-Our wingers are predictable!!!!!!!!!!!

Klopp tactics worked well. So fluid that this is one of the games with lowest % of ball at certain moments of the game in 2 seasons. I really hate that super crucial moments of our game is dependent on someone that will waste 19 and score 1 and then you don't expect anything, he scores.

We either just use them in a 352 setting or move Xinny to middle and let the natural do what they've trained almost 2 decades of their lives for and make us not conceded cheap goals.

If Partey was on tonight, he's taken off half of the workload Odegaard did tonight. He would also make Gomez be fully pinned back instead of those overlapping and shots on goals he was having (i hate the space they gave this guy to be shooting.
