Please my Sumec Fireman 8990, has been serving me perfectly for the past 11months. I stay where we still enjoy decent light daily, except on some days then I really need to use it.
I use good engine oil(Shell 20W50) for servicing and I do promptly, I just use it for my two ACs 1250WX2 deep freezer and fridge that's all.
I was using it this evening and it just went off.
Tried starting nothing happened. What could be wrong pls.

Try check the oil level, and if oil level is okay, check the Spark Plug, possibly replace with another one.

Once Covenant uni sends my transcript to WES, can I upload the notification of result from LASU to WES myself or do I also have to request LASU to send the diploma result to WES ? If yes, does anyone have a contact from someone in LASU exams and records? I tried to pay online but I haven't heard anything from them. Thanks.

You will also need your Diploma transcript from LASU to be sent to WES.

The car starts and stop after a few seconds, high speed engine fan, not starting at all sometimes. The scan revealed car is not communicating with the ecu. Different car readers brought but no way.

The Rewire said he would only buy the ecu with same part number and reprogram the stuff with machine.

The mechanic said that is impossible that we would have to buy the ECU, EIS and the key and replace those parts in the vehicle to make the car work again

The ECU has actually packed up. You only need to Buy ECU of same part number and re-program. You don't need to buy another EIS and Key. Go with the rewire but ensure he is a good Benz rewire. Check what has caused the ECU to pack up, whether it is water intrusion and prevent reoccurrence.

You recently washed your engine and the issue started, this sounds like electrical issues. The washer boy has destroyed your alternator and fan, definitely water might have ingress into the SAM and Brain Box which causes the fault. Not all car wash men know how to wash engine, Benz is too electrical to be subject to water bath. Get your car scan to get the root of the faults

Being using my c300 2012 for 3 years plus without any issue but for the past few days the dashboard light flicters while the ac and radio switch on and off. These happens at the same time Most often when i turn right, drive over a speed bump or a pot hole. I need help from my ogas what might have cause this issues.

From the information the flickering happen under loads when AC/ radio is ON, try check the voltage supplied from the alternator with a voltmeter or use scanner to check the voltage and short/open circuit.

Honestly, if anyone wants to advise or give hint of solution to ones auto issues, do that maturely, not by making jest of or ridicule someone. Some of the words and statements use by some guys here are too harsh, for what gain which I don't know

the c240 2004 or 2005 is okay not 4matic. Try go for foreign use if you have the power or a good Nigerian used with good maintenance history. Benz is all about proper maintenance( proper and good oil usage, correct parts usage). Watch out for electrical faults Mercedes has many sensors but is cul. change engine oil and filter when due, fuel filter etc. Maintenance cost is a bit higher than Toyota but correct parts last longer, fuel economy is fair

The first number of the vin thing is true for most vehicles, but it doesn't really work the way you've described it for Mercedes Benz vehicles.

All W203 vin numbers will start with W, as they were all manufactured in Germany/Austria, but some of them were manufactured in Germany with American specs while some were manufactured in Germany with Europe specs.

The best thing is what kingreign said. Get the vin number and use it to get the build sheet. That would tell you what specs it came with.

It's also different for W204s. W204 vin numbers all start with W, but some of them were manufactured in South Africa after being imported as CKD units from Germany. It can be confusing to a novice, na experience with my W204 C350 teach me all these ones.

Exactly, all Benz are manufactured in Germany, but of 2 different spec, American and European.

Hello house pls how can I differentiate between An American spec and European spec C240 w203. My fuel level in the instrument cluster behaves erratically recently, it remain on 0 level when the car is cold until after the car runs for a while before reading, and I was told the sender unit is responsible. I went to find out the cost of the sender unit from spare part store and was asked if is American or European. Pls how can I know the spec the American spec cost #20k while Europe cost #6k, the price difference is much. Pls see the picture of the sender unit

I noticed that my brake pedal for my Benz c300 2008 model wasn’t working fine last night, when I apply brake the pedal goes down with an air sound, it later started working fine till this morning and it started giving air sound again.

. I have had this similar issues on my Mercedes C240. The air sound stopped when I replace the break booster (break servo). Check your break booster

You have P0121 which is throttle position sensor A range performance. Your throttle pedal sensor is failing or sensing a wrong signal to the throttle body & ECM. You should try doing the throttle pedal/throttle body reset. Then if it doesn't work, replace throttle pedal. But, before you finally decide to purchase another throttle pedal, check that the wirings aren't pinched, check front SAM isn't soaked with water and that the throttle body is okay and not jammed.


You also have P0300, P0301, P0303. Those are random cylinder misfire, cylinder 1 and cylinder 3 misfires respectively. Ensure you check your Spark Plugs, coils, injectors and also the coil wires. You may decide to swap the coils then clear codes and rescan.

Wow, thanks for this comprehensive reply, I have tried to clear those code which do come back after driving. Recently I took the car to Benz mechanic he removed the MAF sensor clean and fitted,Issue remain. I think I will have to consider replacing the throttle/pedal sensor. Pls is the throttle body different from throttle pedal?
Also this code P0453( Evaporative Emission System pressure sensor/switch high. Pls do u know where this sensor is located on the c240 w203?

The car run fine but after like 10 to 15mins drive on slowing down due to traffic, it delays like (5 to 10secs) in responding or accelerating while matching the throttle.I have changed the fuel pump due to this yet issue still persist. I got a benz C240 2002 model, which had a fault a month after used, the issue is that it refuse to start, it accepts the key, but not cranking at all. Just before it stop to respond, it doesn't start on first attempt until about 3 or 4 attempts. now it has refused to start. I have used another battery to start no response.All the fuse were tested okay, then I called for scanning but there was no response. the person said the brain box is not responding and not scanning.
pls what could have caused the failure of the car not starting. can the brain box really be the issue?
