Yes o! Biafra must come! Buhari cannot stop it. ICC and UN must help us to divide this nation before the end of this year. The land of the rising moon. ![]() ![]() |
"Taking suspicious photos" ![]() I hope these are not innocent members of vigilance group employed to keep the Fulani murderers at bay. |
eyesofthegods:I have a soft spot for those girls who were abducted, but I fear for the long term consequences of this sort of negotiation that has become a norm. Bokoharam are psychologically wounding the psyche of our security forces. |

It seem to me like bokoharam have now been made to know where they can easily hold us to ransom or by the jugular and we cough out millions for them (though we heard this one didn't require any payment of ransom). |
Fellow Nigerians (to borrow a leaf from one of Nigeria's finest writers, Dr Dele Momodu), have we noticed that our esteemed secret service, the DSS, has metamorphosed into a negotiating agency. ![]() Isn't it laughable that what is supposed to be a premier local intelligence gathering agency has now become a tool for bokoharam to amass millions of pounds? I never cease to shudder whenever they come with pride that they were "SUCCESSFUL" in their negotiation with that slimy, smelly terrorist group. As much as we all wanted those innocent girls to come back home, don't you think this is a bad omen for our local and international security and image? |
OK |
Arrested on Thursday by Nigerian security officers and already being sent to Cameroon the following day! And we want other African countries to take us seriously. Which court okayed his extradition? Or why can't we act like a continental giant that we claim, by keeping him for a few weeks before agreeing to release him? Even UK and US that are best of friends - extradition between both countries takes rigorous process. Has UK agreed to try or release Diezani to us despite all Buharis pleas and visits and agreements. Talk about showing class. |
Splendid and encouraging testimonial: “they [hospitals and surgeons abroad] did not do anything for him. They asked where the accident happened, where the surgery took place, I said Nigeria. They said excellent. |
Xi Jinping's administration has so far been more intolerant towards religion than the previous ones. He may likely take China down the slippery roads of extremism that Mao Zedong took it several decades ago where uncountable number of people perished, especially now that he has succeeded in giving himself life presidency. |
Benue nko? So that mass burial is still paining Buhari that he decided to exclude Benue State which beats all of these other states, in terms of food production? |
vaxx:I didn't say you're the one who's an atheist. Check the other one. All the same, there's nothing like being a traditionalist; there's no religion by that name. |
Tintingz and Vaxx, both of you need Jesus Christ. There's no much difference between you both. One of you is a staunch atheist while the other is an agnostic or something similar. |
Now this is interesting. First Nation airlines owned by the landlord of Lagos State and self-acclaimed owner and father of APC? Should we say EFCC has begun to take on members of APC or Buhari's henchmen want to clip Tinubu's feathers? Where are our Nairaland political analysts? ![]() |
wirinet:On the bolded: For your information, neither "Jesus" nor "Christ" is Roman; they're both Greek. And Greek was like the dominating language of communication then because they'd been a vast empire and their culture and names had been adopted far and wide. It's just the same way the English language is currently the most used language for communication today. |
tintingz:The Bible is a compilation of facts whose content is attested to by different scientific sources, research and diverse studies. It's like saying an event that took place in the 1960s didn't take place just because you weren't born then. |
vaxx:You don't sound like you're either a Christian or an atheist. What's your faith description please? |
Auki:Do you have any evidence to this effect? |
budaatum:These are concocted tales. No shred of evidence to back them up, unlike the innumerable strings of evidence about the fact of Jesus's being, apart from the Bible account. |
vaxx:Those are made-up stories. I don't want to say much on that. |
budaatum:Jesus was never a voice in the wilderness. He was widely known far and wide. He travelled the length and breadth of the ancient world, especially the countries surrounding then Palestine. |
vaxx:This is my first time of hearing this. The focus has always been about Jesus Christ; some just brought Mohammed into it as a form of balance. |
“Jesus did exist; and we know more about him than about almost any Palestinian Jew before 70 C.E.” - Prof James Charlesworth, Princeton Theological Seminary, in Jesus Within Judaism |
“Some judgments are so probable as to be certain; for example, Jesus really existed, and He really was crucified, just as Julius Caesar really existed and was assassinated....We can in fact know as much about Jesus as we can about any figure in the ancient world.” - Marcus Borg, Professor of Religion and Culture at Oregon State University, in THE MEANING OF JESUS: TWO VISIONS |
Question: What proof can you show that Jesus really existed as you Christians claim? A lot of times here on Nairaland, many atheists and agnostics have expressed doubt as to whether Jesus Christ is not just a Western-conceived myth. On Facebook, same thing is common, especially by White atheists. Many claim nobody ever really existed as Jesus Christ. Personally, I find this question very ridiculous and out of place to deny the existence of Someone who graced the earth JUST 2000 years ago. Think about it. Is that too long? Were there no records of history dating back to thousands of years before Christ came? Why have atheists never doubted the possibility that the following people existed: -Mohammed, who was born about 600 years after the death and resurrection of Christ -Julius Caesar who lived years before Christ came to the Earth -Buddha who was born 480 years before AD, etc. -Alexander the Great who died before before Christ came I think the reason atheists do this is to attempt to wipe off the nudge of authenticity they have about the uniqueness of Christ/Christianity amongst other religions. |
Unfortunately these people are going to bare the brunt of this action - the demon operating and empowering this man, will fight back. You don't fight spiritual battle using physical weapons. They ought to have called a pastor to destroy these things. |
TonyeBarcanista, if you know you're really patriotic as you claim in your signature, come and change the title of this thread. This is very unpatriotic. Why not make it something like: Is Kenya more developed than Nigeria? |
It seems Nigerian courts do not know that it's not all suits they can entertain. How can you stop the national assembly from doing their constitutional duty of law-making. And smartly, APC is using a very unknown party to run this errand. Maybe very soon a stranger will go to court to prevent another person from going ahead to wed and the court will give an order to suspend the wedding until the suit has been determined. Okoroawusa:The courts will be going beyond their jurisdiction, if they do that. And by the way, I wrote "stranger" - someone who has no connection at all with either the groom or the bride and just wanted to test the powers of the court. |
Why should the wife of an ordinary governor be running a convoy of cars? Was it not in the US a governor's wife was driving on her own, was caught overspeeding and promptly arrested and taken to court immediately? Why can't we bring such sanity to our fatherland? |
