Can't we Nigerian youth - a million of us - mass on National Assembly one day and descend on it with anger by burning it down? I'm sure even if police were there they'll be surprised by the massive crowd that they'll just stand aloof whilst blaze brings down the edifice. That'll just be a first phase. Then... |
This is huge! Why can't they just take 10% of it and collapse it into corps members allowance, jerking it to twice of its current amount? There's no justice in this country. |
These people are unintentionally giving free publicity to the president and his re-election bid. |
... |
That certainly is me. ![]() |
This sort of pictures always endear me to these guys. I know they weren't conscripted, but you need to see how Americans and other responsible countries take care of their soldiers on the war-field. Compare to these ones and see the difference. Sad. |
Most of us only know how to rant online. How many have the liver to make a call through to any of them, apart from me? ![]() ![]() |
This is certainly not coming from my God. Sadly this has semblance of "Saraki, invite me to your house, let some cash flow into my pocket." |
I hope the president doesn't get carried away by all these people chasing him up and down, vowing to drag him to court should he fail to recontest, and doing all sorts of things to win his attention. They did the same thing to GOODLUCK; the very day he lost re-election, Asorock became dry and he even started to lament about how his friends have quickly deserted him. |
The difference between other countries and Nigeria is that when this sort of thing happen there, the leaders visit the people who were affected - in the hospital, on the street or even their home. But in Nigeria, they visit the traditional rulers of the town where it happened.

Opinionated:I agree, but that doesn't mean that Africans support corruption while others don't. Corruption only flourishes in Africa, mainly because people don't pay for their crimes and perfidy unlike other places where corruption happens but the defaulters languish in jail thereafter. |
Saying that African support corruption is total stereotyping - it's not true at all. Corruption happens everywhere; the only difference between Nigeria (not Africa, because countries like South Africa, Sénégal, Egypt, Tunisia, etc, have very efficient justice system where bigwig politicians are sentenced without fear or favour) and the Western world like US, Americas, Europe, Asia is that whereas they don't escape the wrath of the law there, they easily do here. And about the issue of protest, Park's supporters in their thousands trooped out to protest for her and Lulas supporters have been doing that as well. But again, the only difference is that they get convicted and get jailed over there, whereas our Naija politicians only attend endless court hearings without ever being sentenced. |
List! List! List! Arrant nonsense. South Korea impeached and removed their president in late 2016, charged her court for corruption in 2017, convicted and sentenced her to 24 years imprisonment just yesterday. A former president! While EFCC is still unable to record a conviction against a mere former lawmaker in the person of Lawan (for the past 6 years)! |
What's the wisdom behind this thread please? If not for ethnic bashing and hauling of tribal slurs, what other purpose can this kind of thread serve? MODIFIED We have seen this kind of pictures uncountable number of times and all we had were abusive comments and tribal bashing. |
As it stands now, the probability that Magu will be removed before May 2019 is zero. Even if Buhari does not seem to know the worth of Magu, the Vice president knows and he'll easily convince Buhari against it. I'm even very sure that it's to the VP's credit that Magu is still at the EFCC. |
.. See as I book space and later forgot to modify ![]() |

Very good; let this man know he's just another human being. I just don't like the way Nigeria's Presidents see themselves (or they allow themselves to be treated) as gods. How can we explain the fact that Lagos with a population of over 10 million people had to be literally shut down because of one man. Don't tell me that it was done to curtail traffic congestion, because that was not the real reason. It was simply done to attempt to deify the president. Same or similar thing happened during Goodluck Jonathans time. Several months ago, a lady rode a bicycle past the convoy of Donald Trump and gave him a middle finger, and she wasn't arrested or molested! https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/320/cpsprodpb/47F7/production/_98732481_gettyimages-867601574.jpg KOPT33:Yes, she did lose her job, but that was only because she posted the picture on her social media accounts which the company said violated their policy. No police harassed her afterwards and citizens later raised more than $100,000 for her. KOPT33:"The photo only showed Briskman from the back, unidentifiable, her left arm out and middle finger up. It didn't take her long to realise that she was the person in the photo soon all over the internet and television. She proudly posted it as her profile picture on her Facebook and Twitter pages." Three days later they told Briskman, a marketing officer, she had to go. "They said, 'We're separating from you,'" Briskman told HuffPost . 'Basically, you cannot have 'lewd' or 'obscene' things in your social media.' It's called protest. It was not a violent thing. This is not even a 21st Century stuff; it has always been happening in the US. |
It's only in Nigeria, I suppose, people come to the media to confess to having been involved in bribery or corruption and nothing happens afterwards. Former Ekiti state PDP henchman did same last year. Mantu just did it. Everyone can DID it without consequences; isn't? ![]() ![]() |
Was a pleasure to be INVITED by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, MuhammaduThis is a lie, aunty Naomi. Where did the president know you to have invited you to Lagos? All these celebrities trying to ride on the foolishness of our African leaders to shine. Nonsense lie. |
handsomeyinka:Not at all. He was not the only footballer who faced such situation. I didn't have him in mind while writing that. |
Unfortunately, many other footballers don't have a long-term plan. They swallow all the millions of pounds they receive yearly, buying new |
Say no to 'Yahoo Yahoo', ritualistic money and drug peddling. The so many conditions attached to all these 'wealth' renders it unenjoyable. And not to talk of signing to die at a particular age. It's NOT worth it. MODIFIED: For those of you quoting me amiss, please pack well and "unquote" me. I wonder why some people just want to blind themselves to reality they acknowledge in the recesses of their minds. |
Very true. |
So sad. The way we treat ELECTED politicians here in Nigeria is over the board. Not even the British Queen and Middle Eastern monarchs are accorded such level of honour. This is ridiculous and insane. |
The difference between N739bn and N91bn is N648bn. Can such an amount be looted by Magu, even if he were corrupt...? No! It seem to me like Magu doesn't trust a lot of these government officials who ordinarily will have charge of the monies and he's decided to keep it away from them at the moment. Just my thoughts. And also, 'about 40%' of the recovered monies can't be transferred to govt account yet because they're still under temporary forfeiture. Omololu001:Park well. Since you don't understand my logic. |
Only in Nigeria! The only people who'd benefit from this circus show are the lawyers who'll represent Dino and the Police. |
doyinbaby:If you're from Ogun, you won't be typing what you just typed. Ogun State is reputed to have the highest concentration of industries in Nigeria. And I can attest to that because I've been there. |
I thought they said the man has escaped Nigeria. How come he spoke from the Chambers today? |
OK |
It's this kind of success in the anticorruption drive that keeps making me to have a soft spot for Buhari and his government. We know EFCC hasn't been recording convictions of politicians and bigwigs yet, but all of these revenue leakage blockages, seizing of millions of dollars over and over again - CAN'T happen in an Atiku government. Even the president will collect his own share from it using proxies and everything will be hushed. |
www.nairaland.com/attachments/6882157_fbimg1521996442509_jpegd0ffe606bce01f0fa7b66446676d19eb Seeing this picture made me burst into a prolonged laughter. If FG storms there now, they'll start crying ICC. Former Catalonia régional president is currently cooling his feet in a German jail, soon to be transferred back to Spain. Because he lacked tact just like IPOB have shown lack of tact. |
