How many southerners want to be in the police force? Many people in the north see it as the easiest way to get employed - that explains the reason they troop into it en masse |
Could she be the woman Ogun State gov says was going to replace him come next year? She's intelligent sha. She'll make a good governor. |

State police is the best. We may experience some abuse at the initial stage, but we will correct them after a while. It's just like saying that the FG should stop awarding contracts because a part of it is wont to be looted. Several developed countries in the world practice it and the result is phénomènal. It's so effective in America, that ordinary county sherrifs (maybe equivalent of a divisional police officer of a town here in Nigeria) are elected, not appointed. |
Yes sir, I stand with you. Even though we've not had major conviction yet, at least the courts have been cooperating by seizing their loots. The several billions recovered so far is a testament. That alone is encouraging to an extent. |
Formér Egyptian president was constantly being brought to court on wheelchair and was later convicted despite the fact that he was more than 80 years! |
OK |
FFK has got no principles to live on. This is why it's bad to play politics of bitterness - and wanting to air your views on almost every event that passes your attention. I've seen its negative effect on many Nairalanders here. |
Everything about this government is technical. "We've technically defeated boko haram." "We're technically out of recession" "The presidents plane is on technical stoppage". Next year when Buhari loses to Sowore or Durotoye , Lai will be like 'Technically, Buhari won; it was just that he had already made up his mind to concede defeat before the election.' Chai ![]() |
Will America who want the dollar to ever maintain dominance in world market not threaten Nigeria to pull out? |
N'a wa |
GavelSlam:Really? I think Nigeria will witness the first rerun ever in the history of our political life. Sowore, Moghalu and Durotoye, and Atiku will cause him massive vote loss in the first lap. |
Can Buhari stick to his guns and say and INSIST that no GOVERNMENT money be withdrawn on his behalf to fund his campaign? And will the private donations be enough? |
chinjo:Lol. I don't think his farm's valuation will be up to N12mn. |
Nairaland political pundits what sayest thou? |
We all know how expensive it's to run an efficient election campaign, especially in presidential system of governance that Nigeria practices. So, the big question is: How will the president fund his re-election campaign bid, noting the fact that he is "incorruptible". ![]() ![]() Or are we going to see a repeat of 2015 Dasuki sleaze where monies appropriated for fighting boko haram terrorists were used to run campaign for the PDP. And "Nhaga-must-go" bags filled with dollars were leaving CBN at the cover of the night... and PDP-branded envelopes were flying everywhere. www.nairaland.com/attachments/4298477_pdp_jpeg94e3a1755126f7ed56b5233f585bd5d7 |
The hate in this thread is nauseating. Nairaland Igbos, who did this to you people? Smh. I hope this thread is closed for good. |
Forfeiture upon forfeiture without a major conviction and imprisonment. Can't we just close down the civil courts and bring in military courts in their stead? |
Firefire:Thank you bro. All the best. |
Firefire:Yes, I'm. |
Firefire:Yes, you're saved by grace, but that grace thereafter produces an outward character that's in consistence with righteousness. |
Firefire:Are you sure you're still saved considering the kind of acidic comments you make on Politics section? You call God's creatures cows, and other demeaning names. Check again, Mr. Just an innocent question anyway. |
It's called voter apathy. Many people have already lost interest after series of useless, lawless court delays. |
MrPolitics:You're confusing yourself. Atiku Abubakar - which is the first here? Is it not 'Atiku'? There are only two parts of a name - first and surname. How can you say they are the same thing? |
Our security agencies' albatross is their disregard for law. You cannot fight lawlessness using same lawlessness. In other climes, you cannot try it. Even murder suspects are treated with utmost dignity until they're convicted and hanged. |
The very self same people in the US who are involved in all sorts of human ritualistic sacrifices are now claiming "superstitious beliefs". Who are they deceiving? Every year, hundreds go missing in America having been kidnapped and used as sacrifice in satanic covens. But many "learned"Nigerians think these things only occur in Africa. ninetiethcrown7:Here you have them: - https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3510663 - https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/most-feared-gang-mara-salvatrucha-ms13-america-satanic-ritual-sacrifice-teenage-girl-satan-alvarez-a7623826.html?amp - https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/opinion/readers/2017/05/05/practice-child-sacrifice-goes-another-name-u-s/311072001/ - http://www.rense.com/general96/HUMSAC.htm @ninetiethcrown7, I've modified it. |
I've read this before now. I must say that's not really very complex if laws work in Nigeria. Since our judiciary is very lame, one sponsored person will just fly to the court and ask for an injunction to stop the national assembly from proceeding, and the court will shamelessly grant it. You see?! dinachi:Is the law followed in Nigeria? Don't you know that several governors have gone to court to challenge their removal from office after they were removed? There's practically no suit, no matter how useless it is, that Nigerian judges will not entertain in court due to corruption. The last one, the court ruled that Nyako should be paid all his salaries since he was sacked till his tenure officially expired. dinachi:I'm even talking about whilst the impeachment process is going on. Not after the conclusion. The law was talking about after the president has been removed from office. Didn't you see how NASS was yet to fully pass an election date amendment bill into law and someone went to the court to stop them from continuing on the bill and the court granted his prayer just yesterday. |
SalamRushdie:Is this not the same guy as Crown****...who finished from Unilorin two years ago?! Stop lying joh. ![]() |
The only painful thing about this whole thing is that our judiciary is so incompetent that to convictan ordinary armed robbery suspect (or even round up a robbery trial) takes years, let alone a senator. What's the status of Evan's case today? Adjournment upon adjournment. |
Why are these people chasing a pipe dream? Couldn't they have channeled this wasted money to Mali into taking care of their injured members? |
Adams is too fiery. The chairman of a party is supposed to be someone who can be a unifying factor amongst all. He lack the minutest spirit of diplomacy and calmness. Oyegun still stands a better candidate. |
Abbeyme:So hypocritical of him. I didn't see this before now. |
