Yes, it is our tradition. The bride is supposed to act unhappy that she is leaving her family and the husband and his people will have to show her that they can take care of her just like her own family did by spray her money.

My own case I simply told my wife to "laugh or u hungry for house o", she started laughing.

Some family members are using it to make money from the husband..

A friend told me what he experienced at a wedding like that, the husband got frustrated after spraying all the money he had the bride refused to smile so he just left.

Hahahaha the woman is really orientational i love this tradition.. I remember when they did one in my village in bayelsa... The man was spraying the money while the woman was busy crying up to 30mins.. It shows that the marriage shouldnt base on money instead mutual love and understanding.
