We don't need an hacking group at all, that means we are using a worst method to correct a worse action. Nairaland is our forum and we can't afford to destroy it. All we are seeking is our requests are attended to within the ultimatum time frame... |

That is exactly your personal estimate which you are entitled to, facebook, twitter and other social networking sites count membership number the same way nairaland does, you can't dispute it unless you have personally carried out a forensic investigation of the system.
Yes we take rule 19 seriously. When you have repeatedly violated our dear Rule ?? |

adeaugustus: Initially I supported you guys, but read my next paragraph carefully, and you will see a reason why de-activating your account makes no difference.
When you make a post on NL, other users make contribution, under your post. There is every tendency that somebody would quote the original post, which means you don't have control over the post that have been quoted. Even if you de-activate your account, the quoted post will still be registered to the user that quote your post, deleting your account won't have any impact on other users account. Let's assume you need to remove a thread (created by you) for security/privacy reasons (just like my case), you can always notify the MOD to help out. There was a thread on NL frontpage some months ago, with pictures on a nairalander and Rita Dominic, the thread had to be removed because the poster revealed a lot of information about his family.
The way out is to watch what you say. If the OP in that said topic had deactivated his/her account, that makes her/him no longer traceable and new thread contributors will have no access to his profile and other topics and post. Moreover, deactivation should be a normal thing any where. |

Education › NANS Elects Senate President; Imposes Life Ban On Deputy Senate President by Davo93(op): 9:13am On Sep 28, 2013 |
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) wishes to inform the general public that it now has a new Senate President. His names are Comrade Nyanabo Maxwell from the University of Port Hacourt, Rivers State.
He replaced late Donald Onaukwogwu who died in a ghastly motor accident while on his way to the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State sometime in June. The Senate sitting where Nyanabo emerged as Senate President took place on the 27th September, 2013 at the University of Portharcourt, Rivers State. The new Senate President is the current Students’ Union President (SUG) of the University of Porthacourt, Rivers State (UNIPORT).
In a related development, the Deputy Senate President of NANS, comrade John Shima has been impeached by his colleagues for gross misconduct, financial misdemeanor and an act capable of tarnishing the image and integrity of the revered association. Shima, a student of Benue State University, Markurdi was also banned for life from participating in all NANS activities.
Amongst the allegations leveled against John Shima are but not Limited to the underneath: -That John Shima called for a Senate sitting in Portharcourt, and before the commencement of the sitting, absconded having discovered that his evil plans and secrets have been revealed; thereby abandoning in the process, Senators that came from virtually all tertiary institutions across the country for the sitting, -That John Shima colluded with some character-riddled former NANS leaders to collect from the Rivers State Government, of the sum of N24million to stage anti-President Goodluck Jonathan mass protest in Portharcourt, -That John Shima, having discovered that his secrets have been revealed to the no-nonsense NANS National President, Comrade Yinka Gbadebo, sent some men of the under world to eliminate him (the President) after paying them the sum of N1.5million for the hatchet job, -That John Shima, has for months before now, been parading himself as the Acting Senate President of NANS despite yet to be inaugurated to act in that capacity,
Meanwhile, after the impeachment and decimation of John Shima from office, NANS Senators unanimously elected Comrade Henry Mark from Benue State University as their new Deputy Senate President. The sitting was observed by the NANS President, Yinka Gbadebo and virtually all the members of his executive council.
The Senators at the end of their sitting called on the Federal Government and the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to for the sake of tomorrow’s leaders whose destinies are being delayed and future being ruined by the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by ASUU, meet and resolve their dispute in order for their ivory towers to be reopened for academic activities.

Davo93: Hello Fellow Nairalanders,
It is quite unfortunate that despite all the plea for a levelled playing ground on this matter, the moderators that have tiredlessly abused and insulted members of this forum went ahead to ban the promoters of this great thread without any reasonable reason. Ich liebe dich(f) has been ban by a MOD.
I wish to state at this point that all these intolerance will not help in resolving matter rather it will aggravate it and make it go worse. We refuse to succumb to your pressure and ill treatment and we are not going to compromise our cause.
We therefore DEMAND the immediate unban of our thread contributors because we have not seen anything bad they have done when MODS here have done worse and still moderate freely.
Nothing Shall Discourage Us!!! |

But I think personal request should be granted provided the thread is created by the user registering the complain. I have a topic in travel section that I'd like to get rid of, am fully aware that you're a moderator in that section, I made a report on the thread, but you did not remove it. I am fully aware that you guys are not paid for the service you're rendering, but I believe that what worth doing, worth doing well. Hi friend, don't be ignorantly deceived by that insultive MOD. Let me ask you, what happens to your post, notes and status updates when you deactivate your Facebook Page or Account?? |

segzi cres: OP, first...seun is a very reasonable guy. Forget the stupid attitude of the mods. There was even a time seun opened a thread for members to drop suggestions on how to make NL better, though that was in the early days of BL. So I think you should be very diplomatic, explain why, advantages and also disadvantages. Etc. Just explain all the bull crap ina mail and send to him. You also have to understand he gets loads of mails err'day. Be diplomatic and drop him a good proposal, I'm very sure he will read it and if it makes sense, he will act on it In this letter, it was categorically stated that Seun is very much aware of why we are asking for these features as stated in the thread that was quoted. So he is yet to respond positively. |
