Dear Gov' Seyi Makinde: Rein in Your Local Government People

Let me begin my appeal with a veiled threat: the next time, dear Governor, any of your officials get into my car in the name of traffic infraction, I'll drive the **** to Ilorin, and I'll ensure I drop him off on the expressway. He will find his way back to Ibadan on foot. Your people call it "abduction"; I call it "extortion". And now, I'll begin my story.

My family and I had an assignment to do on the outskirt of Ibadan. I purposely left it till today because of the public holiday. At about 10:30 am, we drove through the Ojoo roundabout. I suddenly remembered that there was another route to our destination. I did a scan of the area, so I could park and check Google map for directions. Thr general park was closed down. There were "no parking" sign board on one side of the "Terminal" complex - the major garage serving that side of town. I noticed the other side had no "no parking" sign. Many vehicles, particularly commercial ones, were parked there. I assumed I could also park too and I did.

In less than five minutes parking there, one local government official appeared at my side window. He announced that car had been clamped. When I demanded an ID, he said he was one "John" - I cannot remember his other names. He explained I am required to drive to the local government office at Moniya. That they will only take down my name and that as first offender, I'll be permitted to leave. I knew he was lying but I gave him a chance.

We drove to Akinyeley LGA. I met with another senior official who explained to me that I had committed a serious infraction. That I am liable to pay N78,000.00 and that for each night my car spends at the local government, I'll pay N5,000. I pleaded with him. He then comuted my fine to N18,500. After much pleading, he demanded I pay N15,500. One of his men followed me to an ATM where I withdrew the money and gave him - cash. Unreceipted. But before I gave him, I told John that he and his people were robbing me.

Dear Governor, I know people in your office who I could call and I'll be left off the hook. But I gave them that money - poisoned money - to make this case public.

One should commend you, sir, for your good work. But I dare say that most of the people in your local government are not fit to serve even animals, talkless the civil populace. They are theives. And this will not be the first time they will be extortng people. I parked my car in a public space, off the road, with no sign indicating not to park there, yet I am fined. I pay a fine with no receipt, etc. It is time you reig
n in your local government people. The next time any of them get in my car, I'll ensure I drive them away and when we meet in court, I'll counter their case for abduction with my case for extortion.

Oyo State can be a Dubai or any city in the West. But how do you achieve this with the kind of individuals you put on your streets?

So I met this guy like three years ago and within a year I noticed he was keeping me on a low so I felt he wasn't serious with me and I had a discussion with him that if he isn't interested in something more it's best we go our separate ways since I wanted a serious relationship which will eventually lead to marriage, he cried and begged that he was serious, things went on still no formal introduction to his family members or friends.

Two Bi-sexual arrested by civil defense officers through information in Delta State

Two bi-sexual, Stephen Ologwa and Okonji Ifeanyi Ephraim, were caught by civil defense officers in ika south local government involved in sexual act and they were tortured and arrested to a prominent native doctor in other to administer native oath in the shrine.

Both persons refuesed to take concotion in the shrine as they are christains, and that action negates thier christain faith.

Both persons were handcuffed and detained in the chief priest shrine, as they have violated the norms of the community.

As things are now, workers will wake up one morning to find out that their pension balances have been hugely eroded by inflation.

Many people hope on their outstanding balances to start business or live comfortably after retirement. The hope of these individuals will be crashed when their savings over the years became worthless.

In periods of hyper inflation, holding Naira in saving is absolutely not beneficial.

I lost my mum two days ago and it seems my life is over. My mum is my everything and I never thought she would leave us now.

My mum suffered a lot for us, her children and she didn't wait to enjoy the fruit of her labour.

My dad died nearly 12 years ago, and my mum has been the only one helping out with everything: schooling, feeding, with everything. My mum is my angel and my everything. I love her so much, and no matter the situation I'm facing, once I call her and hear her voice, I will be better.

My mum died on Friday, and we spoke on Wednesday and Thursday night, where I told her I'd be coming home on Saturday to see her. My mum couldn't wait till Saturday before dying, she died on Friday morning. I'm so heartbroken, and I don't know how to cope with this; I've cried my eyes out, and I can't get her thoughts off my head.

I moved into were am currently staying in 2022 and have seen a small girl suffered abuse alot.

Despite having water running 24/7 in the compound the girl fetch water everyday, she run errands, bath and prepare her uncle 2 son for school and go drop them off.
A girl of 9yrs will do all this with no proper meal, she has no clothes, only wear rags, bruises all over her body
Sometime late last year I got a school bag for free and decided to gift the girl cos she carry polythene bag to school. The next day her uncle approached me, he first thanked me and ended it with I should have given it to the wife directly instead of the girl, I told him he know me and his wife aren't cool at all hence why I didn't do that.
He told me I should have given him instead, ok no wahala.
Guess what this woman didn't allow the girl use the school bag rather her first son was using it and the girl kept carrying polythene bag to school.

Matter at hand.

Yesterday I was off work, after doing some housework I decided to take a nap around 2.....voice of loud cry and scream woke me up about 20min later.
This woman was beating the girl as usual, this kept going on for 30min and I couldn't sleep.
About 50min later I couldn't take it anymore so I went to her apartment to warn habout the noise , after I got back inside my apartment she increased the beating accusing the girl of attracting disrespect to her.

I called the husband he didn't pick, then I called my landlord and explained things to him. I let him know I will get the police and welfare involved.
With annoyance he called the husband to park out since they are even owning him a year rent already.

This morning the man came to my apartment accusing me of hatred towards his family and his wife was raining insult on me.
I just asked him to pay me 20k he is owing me since last year May and the outstanding fee for pre-paid have been loading from February till now.

Am about going to the station to report him and his wife, getting the welfare Involved. My landlord is in full support.
Note- the girl is the man sister daughter, she is in the village
