Politics › 603 Civilian JTF Killed By Boko Haram - Leadership Newspaper by dayo23(op): 9:49pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
Facts have emerged on how 603 Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members in Borno State were killed while attempting to prevent bomb strapped Boko Haram insurgents from detonating their bombs in large crowds. According to the legal adviser of the CJTF, Barr Jubril Gunda who spoke yesterday during a two day summit on Security and Governance in the North East organised by the CLEEN Foundation, when the CJTF members identified a Boko Haram suicide bomber they wrestle with the suicide bomber and in the process, the bomb explodes killing the suicide bomber alongside the CJTF. Gunda who lamented that only the Borno State government and the military have been assisting the CJTF, disclosed that 360 CJTF members have been integrated into the conventional security agencies including 200 in the Nigerian Army, 120 into the Department of State Service, DSS and 40 about to be recruited into the Air force. The legal adviser gave the population of the CJTF in Borno as 25,000 and disclosed that the government has concluded plans to set up a commission which would ensure the integration of all the CJTF members into the security agencies. Gunda also shed light on how the CJTF members came together to fight the insurgents. He said most of the members were graduates, undergraduates and artisans who swore to an oath with the Koran to fight the insurgents after reports that the military were abandoning their arms and fleeing the Boko Haram. In her welcome remarks, executive director of CLEEN Kemi Okenyodo said the summit was informed by the nexus between bad governance and insecurity. stressing that the summit would identify this within the context of the northeast. http://leadership.ng/news/443646/603-civilian-jtf-killed-by-boko-haram

PerfectlyPerfect: Boko Haram ain't COMMON. terrorism isn't something you can just defeat. Check out the US and all the countries where they've been fighting terrorism and tell me if they've curbed it in any of the countries. you really have to give credit to these guys. they've done much more that the US have ever done. the US has the heaviest military budget in the world, more than that of half of all countries in Africa combined but see what Al Qaeda did to them, even when AL Qaeda was still a fledgling. Our military changed the tides of the war immediately they got better equipment and ammunition, if they get more, they'll still do better. me sincerely believe that if given the opportunity, we'll have the best military in the world reply dayo23: Stop saying trash boy, majority of ISIS/Al-Queda top commandants are still been killed by U.S Delta force and Airforce, 2ndly you don't expect U.S to deploy it Military to a sovereign state, the Arab world are against U.S deploying forces to there region, most of those Mission carried out by delta force/Navy Seal are covered operation (Dark). Xetima: Former President Jonathan Officials Accuse Buhari Of Dismissing Already Dissolved Board, Claim $5 Billion Remitted By NLNG - Sahara Reporters
Some members of the outgone administration of President Goodluck Jonathan have said President Muhammad Buhari was out of order by dissolving the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), contending that, according to the “Petroleum Act,” the board stood dissolved the moment erstwhile Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, left office.
President Muhammadu Buhari Wikipedia Two members of Mr. Jonathan administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told SaharaReporters that there was no reason for President Buhari to send a letter to the board of the NNPC to dissolve. “That act [President Buhari’s dissolution of the NNPC board] is null since there was no board in place after the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, left office,” said one of the sources.
Mrs. Alison-Madueke, who constituted the current NNPC board, officially lost her cabinet position on May 29, 2015 when former President Jonathan’s tenure ended.
A second source, who served on the disbanded board, claimed that Mr. Jonathan’s administration left $5 billion in the kitty for the incoming Buhari government. He said the funds were yielded by dividends from Nigeria’s sales of liquefied natural gas.
Last weekend, Babs Omotowa, the chief executive of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Company (NLNG), claimed that the company paid $1.6 billion in dividends to the Buhari government. However, one of the two sources who spoke to us claimed that said the amount was $5 billion. He added that President Buhari was either hiding the correct amount paid to his government in order to justify his claim of inheriting “an empty treasury” or that the NLNG was playing a game on Nigerians.
The NLNG is a joint venture between the Nigerian government and multinational oil companies.

Fellow Nigerians, who is not telling us the truth here? Did NLNG actually remit $5Billion or $1.6Billion? This should not go the way of $2.8Billion ooo! No ministers, no accountability, everyone is busy talking about NASS issues, we need to be vigilant. Total Rubbish! |

Rawani: Quite true. VP Osibanjo should consider tying the marketers to be involved in the oil-swap agreements to banking instruments such that if they fail to deliver the agreed quantity of refined products exchanged for our sweet crude, they will lose their money. This will hopefully minimize the inherent risks typical of such arrangements.
I wonder what his detractors are looking at, VP Osibanjo is looking every bit Presidential and displays a commanding persona in those photos. Contrary to what people are saying, our ever admirable VP is working hard underground, technically sound and President Buhari knows exactly the material he has as VP, did u read what fashola and Co said about him? onajo2000: The National Leader Of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu have been accused of sponsoring PDP Media Watchdog by Northern Youths Movement (NYM). The group which called for the resignation of President Mohammadu Buhari, Daily Post reports.
The PDP Media Watchdog had called for President Buhari to resign after he said his age -72 years – might hinder his effectiveness in office.
PDP had later denied being affiliated with the group, saying it had no hand in its activities.
However a statement from NYM says “the comment made in South Africa by President Buhari, regarding his age was deliberately hyped by Tinubu’s hatchet men in the media and the call for the president’s registration was aimed at gauging the reaction of Nigerians,” “Also, we are aware that Tinubu’s camp is working on the possibility of President Buhari not completing his term, either due to failing health or death.”
“However, we youths in north are aware of his (Tinubu) plot against the north and we wish to tell him that we are watching.”
“He has failed in his attempt to hijack the National Assembly and use it to impeach President Buhari and we want to assure Tinubu and his cronies that President Buhari will not only complete his tenure, he will go for second term.”

Kayode needs to shut the f*ck up.
Until the mess in the senate is resolved, PMB is under no obligation to release any ministeral list.
the truth is, there will always be people such as Kayode that will fault his selection of ministers.
the priority now for us agents of change is how to get rid of Saraki.
Saraki is PDP - flesh and blood and he is going to be the achilles heel of this administration if something is not done quickly about him. Exactly what Tinubu was fighting for, he knew Saraki is over ambitious and a threat to the change slogan. Saraki is a very dangerous man |
