While the Igbo and the areas they occupy seethe in poverty and devastation, coupled with the degradation of arable land, people in power impishly swim in the river of corrupt wealth. The formation of gullies has become one of the greatest environmental disasters facing many towns and villages in southeastern Nigeria. This region is fast becoming hazardous for human habitation. Three months ago Southeast governors demanded the imposition of a state of emergency as a necessary step towards checking the erosion menace in the region.

Hundreds of people are directly affected every year within towns and villages and have to be re-located, and yet the rate of increase in gully erosion has continued unabated with no suitable solution.

The economic cost of gully erosion in southeastern Nigeria is devastating. Gully erosions lead to great losses of land every year. Large sections of land have been destroyed in recent years in towns such as Ekwulobia and Nanka. In addition, highways are ruined due to gullies, leading to numerous vehicle accidents and deaths

We Yorubas are not interested in their resources we are not like the leeches called Igbo

We wont claim Edo because their former governor is called Oyegun or they bear names like Aiyegbeni

We wont claim Itsekiri because they bear Omasola or Omawumi

Obasanjo said the war was for oil; but to us Igbo, it was a war of survival and security. Why are you so desperate to divide SE and SS?
Your desperation is convincing me more and more  about your obsession with oil control.
Onlylies,

Who fought Biafra because of oil? Was it oil that made Igbo soldiers kill other regional leaders and spare theirs?

Was it oil that made Biafra attack SW territory before they were stopped in Ore?

Separate SS and SE? What relationship does an Edo man, An Itsekiri man, Urhobo man or Ijaw man have with Igbos?

Abeokuta — The discovery of oil in two different locations in Ogun State is exciting the Governor, Gbenga Daniel. He said the state will soon join the league of oil producing states in Nigeria as crude oil has been discovered in large quantities in two local governments in the state.

They are Ogun Waterside and Ipokia Local Government Areas.

Nigeria: Oil, Gas Exploration Begins in Lagos Soon
The state Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Develop-ment, Prince Adesegun Oniru, disclosed this breakthrough during a briefing to mark the third anniversary of Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN). Speaking on the new discoveries, Oniru confirmed that a vast deposit of oil resources had been discovered off shore in Badagry area of the state, though the quantity of oil deposit in the state had not been quantified in barrels.

However, the commissioner said oil production and exploration in the state had been largely constrained by a large volume of gas lying on the oil resources and explained that the constraints had been properly and technically addressed. He added that Department of Petroleum Resources, a federal agency had granted Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited OML 113 and British Gas Exploration and Production Limited OPL 223 to operate on the oil fields in the state.

Crude oil, which is the major source of income in Nigeria, is found in Ilaje Local Government Ondo State. There are oil wells and fields spread all over the Local Government Area both onshore and offshore, Oil Companies such as Shell, Chevron, Texaco Nigeria Ltd and Consolidated Oil, Express Petroleum and Gas Company, Atlas Oil Company, Allied Energy Oil Company, Cavendish Oil Company , Esso-Mobil were at a time already operating in the Local Government Area
The leader of the Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike said the South-east and South-south geopolitical zones will be closed down on March 3 for the burial of the late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Uwazuruike said markets and all offices within the affected zones would be closed while there would be total compliance to sit-at-home order earlier declared by MASSOB.

He also said the burial which is divided into two phases would have Nigerian government playing the first role while MASSOB would hold sway on the burial days. The MASSOB leader further described as sacrilege the call to Ndigbo residing in the North to stay put in the face of ongoing bombings by members of the Boko Haram sect.

Uwazuruike’s outburst was prompted by last week’s statement by South-east governors and some selected Igbo leaders who in a communique, shortly after their meeting in Enugu, said Ndigbo in the North could stay put there because their security was guaranteed.
Addressing newsmen at his Biafra Freedom House, Okwe in Onuimo Council Area of Imo State during a courtesy call on him, Uwazuruike faulted the governors’ statement.

According to Uwazuruike, “it is sacrilegious for some people to ask their kith and kin to stay put in the troubled North while their children are overseas enjoying themselves and they are at the Government House themselves disbursing tax payers’ money at their disposal.”
He therefore urged Ndigbo who are in the North and even in the West to return home en masse and join hands in developing Biafraland because any investment they made in the North or West were not protected by international law.
According to him, international law could only protect an investment made in Nigeria by non-Nigerian or outside Nigeria by a Nigerian.
He said it was because international law could not protect an investment made inside Nigeria by a Nigerian that all the landed property put up by Ndigbo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State were declared abandoned property and seized from them immediately after the civil war, just like any property built by Ndigbo in the North or West could be destroyed or seized at any time if another civil war broke out.

On the fate of Ndigbo who do not have houses to stay in if they returned from the North, Uwazuruike declared: “Those who do not have house in Igboland should return and we will accommodate them in our war veterans’ houses here in Okwe because we built many mansions here for all the Biafran war veterans who have been begging at Oji River and they are all comfortable there now as I am talking to you.”
He also urged those stranded in the North who wanted to return home to indicate their interest so that he could use his position as the new Eze-Igbo to send vehicles to evacuate them home.
Igbos can now leave the SW and go home the new ike-eba wuruwuru has provided accomodation in that lepers colony built in Okwe

nateevs:
This is why I do not get into these arguments.
Things start to fly about the place and tons of stuff you never said start to circulate and you spend ages trying to correct or defend them.

I will say this once and for all.

Firstly,
I never said Lampard was preventing the balls from getting in the box.
I said Lamps is one of the reasons. I said I'd rather a midfield with someone with guile and trickery who has an eye for quality pass, chooses to take as their primary responsibility and concentrate less on getting into the box. This midfielder, we currently do not have. For that reason, the absence of Lampard will/should not create a massive difference. So that assertion is wrong.
Does Mata not have the trickery you so desired? You even said the reason why Mata hasnt been producing for Torres was because of lampard interference

Secondly,
The shape-keeper thing. This phrase emanated from a discussion we had about balance of play rather than scoring of goals. In that discussion, I attempted to describe how Torres gives more balance to the team's set-up over Drogba and how his presence prevents the team from losing shape going forward. Obviously, the use of that word shape was either wrong in the context or others (especially you) have taken to mockery because Torres has not scored. Whichever the case, I didn't/never intended the statement to mean giving balance is more important than scoring goals. So can we kindly leave this to rest now?
Now with Torres keeping the shape for the past 4 weeks, Do you think he prevents Chelsea from losing shape when going forward vs Swansea, QPR, Norwich etc

Would you say there has been more balance in the team play in the last 4 weeks cos the results from that period suggests theres fire on the mountain.

My concern is how we are playing as a team and how many chances we are creating, how many problems we cause in the box, how many saves we force the keeper to make. The problems we have are bigger than Torres not scoring. We had this lethargic play even when Torres was getting 5mins and 10mins.
When Torres wasnt playing, the play was lethargic but somehow the players on then were able to score from the few chances.

Either from Lampard rebounds, Sturridge trial and error or Drogbas bullying

Nowadays everything has ground to a halt just because Torres has disrupted everything.

3 games vs modest teams(Norwich, QPR, Swansea) 2 goals: 1 controversial penalty, 1 last minute deflection
