OAM4J,

Why is this not on front page already? Is it because the site owner is one of the lap dogs of Odechukwu Jonathan

I bet if it was a story about Buhari SSS "inviting" someone in 1984 it would already be on the front page

Anyone that has been reading El Rufai's articles ought not to be surprised at this. El Rufai has been propagating hatred and inciting violence with every opportunity he's got all in the name of being a social critic and its about time someone did something about it. It's pretty obvious that people like him that have fed fat off the back of govt can not stomach being sidelined and wld go to any length to make themselves relevant.
How is El Rufais article different from those by Gani and Soyinka in the days of Abacha?

How is it different from the 5 fingers of a leprous hand from Bola Ige

Fuhrer Odechukwu Jonathan has now turned Nigeria into a Gestapo state

Ndipe:
For those who disagree on my thought that being a housewife is a fulltime career, I would tell them to reconsider their viewpoints. Traditionally, men are supposed to be the breadwinners and women the man's helper. So, in the past, society dictated that a man had to work while the woman stayed at home to nurture the kids. Times have changed with the high cost of living in the society. Even when women work outside their homes (and some of the men here say that being a stay at home mom is a liability), they are expected to come home and take care of the kids, do the dishes, clean, cook and serve the man food. And the man does not even lift up a finger to help them. Rather, he would expect 'honey' to serve him food, clean up the table and do other domestic chores around. Why? Because it's a woman's job. But hey hey, is it not a man's job to provide for the family? If the woman will equally share in contributing to the household finances, then the man should also assist in domestic chores. Afterall, both of you have jobs outside home and it would be unfair to expect the woman to work double shift at home simply because it's not traditional for a man to engage in housework. There is this picture of Obama, prior to his election as the President of the USA, doing the dishes, and some of the men exclaimed that it was very unafrican (which I totally agreed) But times have changed, mek we boku help women too, dem no be slave. Either they stay at home fulltime or if they work, when they come home, also assist them in domestic chores. It's as simple as that. Women are not slaves.

Once, an arguement arose between my cousin and I over this issue. A family friend of theirs graduated from medical school in Nigeria, got married and is now a stay at home mom. Her parents are unhappy that she hasnt utilized her degree and cited the sacrifices they made on her behalf. My cousin saw their reasoning but I completely disagreed with him. I told him that it was the parents duty to educate her, and afterwards, what she chooses to do with her degree is solely upto her and her husband. O
Pls which kind of men are you talking about and which man would expect a woman to serve him food after a hard days work while he wont do anything? Are we still in the 18th century?

In the olden days, Women dont go to school, and many viewed the education of women as a waste, But nowadays Women are getting as educated as men and in some cases even more educated So why keep the dynamics of 100yrs ago in 2011.

Why keep women tied at home like its done 100yrs ago when they were nt allowed to have an education, vote or even talk in public

Well done Amosun. But that is not enough. Those that have benefited from the state pulse to embark on pilgrimages should be asked to refund the money bit by bit. A special task force may be created to enforce this refund. It will really help the debt-ridden state.
Not possible, I am poor I cant afford it, Govt has a program for pilgrims, I apply and I am given, Why should I refund it?

Manchester City have rejected a transfer request from Carlos Tevez, after the Argentinian striker informed the club of his desire to leave. City have also expressed their disappointment at the "actions of his representative" over the matter.

Even Kolo Toure submitted a transfer request in January of 2009 and it was turned down - what cannot be proven is that clubs deny EVERY demanded transfer request.
Does that make sense to you Deborah? So last season if Sylvestre bring in a transfer request wont the club accept it?

That you claim players leave when you have no more use for them is neither here nor there.
Man Utd still had use for Rooney, Bayern had for Ballack and Ribery, Arsenal has for Fabregas and Nasri and they shouldnt be sold if the club has any ambition in them at least until a capable replacement is acquired.
It's an interesting topic, I have never thought of being a housewife ever in my life. Being married with kids, I now think it is good for a woman to have a balanced lifestyle between work and family. Work is necessary, because I consider my husband and I to be a team, we work together towards goals, we both contribute to the family, and the same way I like him to give me a hand with the housechores, I find it normal to bring my own salary home. I also have my own ambitions and plans for the future, and work guarantees some independence.

Talking about that, having a stable career allowed me to marry the one I truly loved, whether than looking for an already made man and certainly missing on great but not yet wealthy ones.

That being said, I believe there are some moments in a woman's life when it is ok, and probably better to stay home : during the 1st year after birth, for example, and why not until the child goes to school, to make it easier and less stressful (breastfeeding, baby's sleepless nights etc.). I decided to leave a big enough gap between my kids in order to stay home a bit after birth but still go back to work to keep in touch with my career before getting pregnant again.

I've always wondered, though, what the housewives will do after the kids are grown and gone? Won't they feel left out, alone at home waiting for their husband to retire?
The bolded is a very good question

Ribery told L'Equipe: "I have decided that I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing.

"I will wait to see how things pan out but I would like to hold talks with the Bayern management soon."

Evidence you say?

Real Madrid want to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich during the close season, according to Real president Florentino Perez.

"It would be a huge satisfaction to have Ribery with us as soon as next season," Perez told French daily L'Equipe in an interview published on Friday.

DK, look at it this way, no Bayern fans are complaining that Ballack left on a free but Arsenal fans are still lamenting 3 years after the event of Flamini leaving on a free and still chucking a few curses in Arsene's direction cos we haven't won anything since then, each club's situation is different. Bayern can afford to do it cos yu're superpowers in the Bundesliga, in the PL some money miss road people have upset the apple cart.
I think it is key that we keep Nasri though, losing Cesc and him at the same time will definitely tell on the team next season, we can't really afford to lose 2 players of that calibre at the same time.
After Ballack left we have achieved more than we did with him even in CL and it has nothing to do with Bundesliga

So you havent explained why Arsenal cant tell their players to sit their contract to the end.

coogar:
yes. . . .bayern are the biggest bully in bundesliga, they can afford to do as they please in germany. . . . .arsenal ain't the biggest money-bag in london, let alone england. if city wants muller today and muller wants to leave for england, there's nothing bayern munich will do to it. the abu-dhabis will just buy the allianz arena and make it a zoological garden for camels, snakes and desert rats. grin
If Citeh want to buy Muller, Bayern would simply refuse to sell and let his contract run to the end. Real couldnt even get Ribery despite all the noise they made cos we told them to wait till his contract is over.
We are not a selling club, We only sell when we have no use for the player again e.g Makaay, Klose, Toni, Hargreaves etc

biina:
I advise you hold on to your laugh. In exchange for Robben, Bayern have agreed to sell Ribery next summer for max of 20ME, but RM have now tabled a bid of 20ME + VdV and are waiting for a response from Bayern.

Flamini left in 2008, Song was already in Arsenal just promoted to first team

I give you Nasri

Adebayo left in 2009, Chamakh came a season later So who filled in the immediate gap? Dont be surprised if Clichy leaves and Wenger promotes Gibbs, same with Nasri and Fab

Those are not good startegies when you are trophyless, Fergie can afford at this moment to sack his first 11 and bring boys from U21 team of Austria, YES he has proven he can do it.

Look now A top class lehman left, What did Wenger do? Compare that to when VDS left = De Gea in,  Giggs left = Young in

i cannot understand the brouhaha myself. . . . .arsenal fans are fickle-minded.

any player that wants to leave, let him leave. for every departure, there's a player elsewhere ready to wear the badge with honour. united have lost cantona, beckham, schmeichel, roy keane, van nistelrooy, etc and yet the last 5 seasons has been united's most successful period in their history. players will come and go, the club shall remain forever. . . . .
Slightly different, In most cases when Fergie loses players, He would trade them on his own term and plan a replacement

There was a reason Rooney wasnt sold last season because ferguson does not have a planned succesor lined up

The season Beckham left Fergie planned on getting Dinho it didnt work and he got CR7, Roy Keane left, Carrick stepped in etc.

Compare with Arsenal. In 2008 they had a great season Sold Flamini and hleb 2 of their top 4 performers, Who did they replace them with? They sold Adebayor who did they replace him with, Sold Kolo who did they replace him with? Sylvestre

@ Slim

I understand your feelings 100% - since Arsenal hasn't signed anyone and our best players are alleged to be leaving, we should all commit suicide.

Any negative rumour is treated as fact, but every positive one cannot be true. . . . like I said, one of the most neurotic group of fans I've ever seen.

Skysports, soccernet, goal.com and co must love Arsenal fans. grin
Antecedents my brother, Going by the number of players that have been linked to Arsenal in the last 5 yrs, They should be called the galacticos but what do they have? Bendtners and Diabys. So the pessimism is understandable.

Selling star players? Also based on antecedents, If they tell you Barca or Madrid would sell their star player, everyone would be sceptical. But if its Arsenal,Lyon, Benfica everyone know their tendecy to fling top performers almost every season

Think Pires, Flamini, Hleb, Henry, Adebayor, Kolo, Gallas, Its a yearly thing and its only natural to expect the best player of the year to be sold like their predecessors
