So what part of his worth do you have questions about?

After working for 26yrs in the Oil sector, How much do you think he might have invested in shares and would have turned around?

To own a house in US or UK you dont need to have the total amount a good credit rating would get you almost anything.

Can you really quantify the "legal earnings" of a senator? The get every type of allowances etc.

To think A Nigerian Senator would earn just 1.2m per annum borders on delusion given the Furniture, Constituency etc

Senators Demand N95 Million Quarterly Allowance

http://allafrica.com/stories/201006140725.html

Moreover to be a politician in Nigeria, In some cases you dont need much.

He was an AD senator, And going by antecedents AD doesnt spend money to win elections . How much did Bisi Akande, Lam Adesina, Adefarati etc had before they became governor? How much was Akinfenwa worth before he became Senator? I can tell you most of these people I mentioned cant have 20m cash in their account before they became governors.

How much do you think Fashola was worth before he became Governor?

^^ Once again you ignored money he made from being a Senator and other businesses he runs

It seems you have a personal agenda.

How can someone be a Senator in Nigeria and you would ignore than part. Why do you think even ex Governors still want to get themselves and their families in the Senate?

Dont you hear thatour Democracy is the costliest in the world or is it Ajimobis fault that Senators in Nigeria earn more than the US president?

I don't understand this question. All the female loud-mouths who shout about equality in marriage should rather answer the reverse question: Should a Man marry a Lady who is Jobless? I'm sure most people wouldn't see the big deal in that. . . "as long as he loves her". In fact that question would even be seen as ridiculous and needless. Double-standards, right? Go figure.

I still repeat, no sane person will wake up one morning and say ''I don't trust my spouse'' . What has that spouse done to him or her?
Not true.

Some women are of the opinionn that all men cheat so before she even starts dating a guy she is already suspicious of every woman around him.

Some ppl grew up seeing their parents, uncles friends cheating so they have that idea that No one is to be trusted.

Some people transfer the hurt from previous relationship and uses that on every other person.

sometimes people like to glean advice from someone the same sex as their partner just to give them an insight into how the opposite sex's mind works.

But you are right, I am sure that there are a thousand and one other "free" men that she can ask for advise from instead of calling up her married ex all the time.

In this case, it depends on the opposition e.g Current La Liga situation. If you play an organised team like Juventus of the late 90's or current Barcelona team No amount of money even if you have Mourinho and Ferguson coaching them would guarantee wins

This same Wenger has won 4 FA Cups and 3 titles in England. Bring the money and then we'll judge.
Winning when it was 2 horse race, Wenger WOULD NOT WIN IN THE CURRENT SET UP.

Before 2004, EPL teams and below average in Europe bar Man Utd. Was that not when Deportivo was beating Arsenal home and away 4-0 aggregate?

After 2004 Football changed even in BL, Since 2004, Bremen, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Dortmund have won the league
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by dayokanu(m): 3:10pm On Jul 05, 2011
Inter Milan outspent most of the Serie A in the 90's but couldnt touch the Serie A for 15yrs.

debosky:
So if Real has not won and had a competent coach and spending, it supports my argument. Neither factor guarantees trophies.
Its different. If you spend money and have a competent coach you MAY not win, if the opposition is better organized.

If you spend money, do everything, As long as you have Wenger as coach, YOU WILL NOT WIN

Well, you probably have a point, but what I wanted to clarify is that Ajimobi could not have accumulated that much wealth from his legitimate earnings as an employee in the oil industry. Simples. If he became a dollar multi-millionaire (worth up to $15m) as a Senator, well. . .that's neither here nor there, and it raises serious questions. Let's assume a Nigerian senator legally earns about $1.2m per annum. That means Ajimobi earned $4.8m (legally) during his four years in the senate. Now, are we saying that he saved up or invested ALL of that amount? Didn't he finance certain constituency projects? Didn't he 'mobilize' his political associates and constituents throughout his tenure - something that is extremely expensive in Nigerian politics? Didn't he spend part of that money in his expensive but unsuccessful gubernatorial campaign in 2007? We can see that even his LEGITIMATE earnings as a senator does not justify his huge wealth - as declared.

This leaves only three possibilities: One, he made great wealth through typical unscrupulous practices and under-the-table deals of Nigerian executives while managing the National Oil Company or working for Shell.
Two, he made stupendous money as a senator through the typical bribes from committee oversight functions and other such under-the table deals that National Assembly members engage in.
Three, he is not really worth up to the amount he declared as his assets. . .but only 'amplified' his net-worth in anticipation of what he intends to loot as governor.
1. He was MD of NOLCHEM
2. He had a company which is into contracting
3. He was a senator.

Add those 3 together and develop an expectation of his worth. In the Nigerian context, Anyone who held those 3 posts are usually worth that much

He has houses abroad, Do you know it was claimed he was either a resident or citizen of the US? that means he must have built up credit to finance Houses

What RM have done in Spain and the UCL as well as Bayern's dominance in the bundesliga are clear evidence of a link between money going into a club consistently and the success a club achieves relative to its peers who don't have access to such financial resources.

^^ **yawn**

This frequently repeated nonsense would be funny if it were even close to being true - Arsenal signed 3 players in the last summer transfer window and the youngest was 24.

The January before Arshavin was signed and I guess he was 17 too.

The summer before that Arsenal signed Thomas Vermaelen and he was not a day over 15.

Of all the so called teenagers signed, not one has been signed into the first team.

When people lose their few remaining braincells, instead accepting to be brainwashed by the media, then I don't mind them jumping off the cliff with their suicidal thoughts.
Are you now agreeing with me that its not the signings that are the problem, Its the COACH who is the problem

they had a good team then but was managed by a lummox known as juande ramos. look at their team then. . . .they had berbatov, keane, defoe, ledley king, woodgate, etc. even if we take out tottenham as a force. . . . .you still have man utd and chelsea. so can arsenal win a league title knowing united and chelsea play in the same competition?
Arsenal still had a better team than Tottenham even during the Juande Ramos times.

United have always been better than Arsenal even before people started spending money, So blaming money for Uniteds dominance is redundant

valencia won the league because they only had madrid to contend with then. . . .when arsenal had only man utd to contend with, they won several titles. the title drought coincided with when roman brought mourinho to chelsea. so arsenal had 2 solid teams to contend with and it's almost impossible to have 2 massive teams having an abysmal season
.

Barcelona were also bigger spenders than Valencia in that time, They spent millions on Rivaldo, Giovanni, Sonny Anderson, Riquelme, Quaresma, Rochemback, plus the Dutch crew of Kluivert, Cocu, De Boers, Bogarde, Reiziger etc didnt come cheap

arsenal are where they should actually be. anyone expecting them to do better than they are doing belongs to the world of harry porter.
fans should be realistic.
In Europe based on spendings City, Chelsea and Madrid should be rotating the CL in between themselves

i learnt Senators earn 15m per month thats like 180m a yr, check that in 4 yrs and see if the figures add up. Like 720m

I dont think Tottenham who were almost in relegation waters before Redknapp came were an issue for Arsenal

If thats the excuse then that is pathetic, Valencia won the league despite Madrid spending like crazy in the Galacticos era, Man Utd have won titles despite Chelsea spending anyhow.

Compare the wealth of a lecturer to that of a MD of a Shell subsidiary?

Also dont forget that this man was a senator. Do you think it absurd for a Snator to have this in his bank acct when a Senator earns 15m per month, In a yr thats 180m in 4 yrs thats 720m.

Minus other businesses and assets he could have accrued as a MD.
