Christianity Etc › Re: 10 Bible Verses On Tithing by dazzlingd(m): 1:17pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
ipreach: Many people have argued much on this subject on and off social media especially on Nairaland.com, that's why i decided to bring to here
1. Because God commands it:
"A tithe of all you produce is the Lord's and it is Holy." (Leviticus 27:30)
2. Because Jesus commands it:
"Yes, you should tithe, and you shouldn't leave the more important things undone either." (Matthew 23:23) Tithing was the only thing Jesus commended the Pharisees for doing right!
3. Because tithing shows that God has first place in your life:
"The purpose of tithing is to teach you to put God first place in your life". (Deuteronomy 14:23 (LB) If God does not have first priority in your finances, He isn't really first in your life and your witness for Christ is false!
4. Because it reminds you that everything you have was given to you by God: "Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the ability to produce wealth." (Deuteronomy 8:18) Rather than feeling "I'm giving God 10% of my money," realize God is letting you keep 90% of HIS money. Without God's help, you would have nothing.
5. Because tithing expresses your gratitude to God for helping you earn income: "How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me?" (Ps. 116:12) Here's the answer: "Each of you should bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you." (Deuteronomy 16:17)
6. Because refusing to tithe is stealing from God:
If you don't tithe, God says you are using money that rightfully belongs to Him. "God says: "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me!' But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' God says: 'In tithes and offerings. Bring your whole tithe to My house.'" (Malachi 3:8-19) (God has a right to whatever He asks for from you.)
7. Because tithing gives God a chance to prove to you that He exists and wants to bless you:
"Bring me your tithe. Test me in this," says the Lord, "and see if I won't throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it, I will prevent pests from devouring your crops and the vines in your fields will be protected from plagues."
This is one of the most amazing promises in the Bible. God actually offers you a challenge. He says "I dare you!" Start tithing and watch what happens!" He not only promises to bless you with more, but He also promises to protect what you already have! In the Bible, tithing is the only way given that you can prove God exists. Start tithing and get ready for God's amazing blessings!
8. Because it is essential to spiritual growth: "Just as you grow in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in earnestness and love...see that you also grow in the grace of giving." Many Christians remain spiritual babies because they disobey God by not tithing.
9. Because tithing shows you really love God! "Where your treasure is, your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21) Wherever you put your money is where your affection is going to be. Every time you give back to God you are drawn closer to Him. You may say you love God, but 2 Corinthians 8:8 says that you’re giving tests the sincerity of your love. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. Jesus said, "If you really love me, do what I command." (John 14:15)
10. Because tithing is an investment for eternity: Jesus told us to "Store up treasures in heaven." (Matthew 6:19-20) How do you do that? By investing your money in helping people get to heaven! Most of the things you spend your money on will not even last for ten years, much less last for eternity.
http://godsinspired..com.ng/2016/03/10-bible-verses-on-tithing.html I am only interested in why you ignored Deuteronomy 14 vs 22 - 29. Why have you chosen hypocrisy? |

The award is highly competitive and not everyone can be invited. Also, it seems like many of those who were invited have health related courses, probably because Nigeria chose health as priority area. all the best, just focus to explore other opportunities |

kolaish: I have not seen where pastors are threatening people to pay tithe, if there is any place like that let us know. Once again, it is voluntary (matter of choice). So, why the noise about tithe always. if your church is not following the bible as you presume, there are hundreds of churches around, simply move or better still, confront/ask your pastor the justification for tithe or are you afraid to confront your pastor about it? You bring up tithe matter always as if the church is all about tithe paying. pastors won't threaten you right? preach to you that tithe is freewill and not by force but read the book of Malachi to you how you are robbing God and how devourers will devour you if u don't pay... Then give you many stories of how faithful tithe payers were miraculously saved from disasters and sudden calamities plus how unfaithful tithe payers are being devoured. And if you like pay, if you like don't pay it's for your own good.. Lol, pls define threat to me because that's the height of emotional blackmail and threats |

ndcide: Thanks anyway. I know you are not as intelligent as myself.
However, what I did was to address the spirit of the question and it's implications. The wise and those who are sensitive will understand. Not every cryptic post on nairaland can be understood by all. Those who can't take it, fight it.
May I reiterate,
Those who want to be Christians indeed should be mindful anti giving campaigns. The objective is a satanic wealth exchange.
Even in the kingdom of darkness, giving is taking very seriously.
Christians, should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil. Manipulation CAN NEVER BE STRAIGHTFORWARD.
IF IT'S HARD FOR YOU TO SWALLOW, READ THE CONVERSATION OF THE SERPENT AND EVE in Genesis 3:1-7 and think deeply about it.
I'm not going to open a thread for this.
Again, A word is enough for the wise. Lol, A mad man will never know he's mad, same with one with low intelligence. just look at your comments, filled with rantings, warning, threats and sentiments but have you addressed anything No! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Pastors Prefer Malachi To Deuteronomy When Preaching About Tithe? by dazzlingd(m): 9:47am On Jan 23, 2017 |
kolaish: it is only a stingy person that have problem with paying tithe. FYI, I pay 20% as tithe not even 10%. The truth is that the biessings God has given is even more than the 20% and I am thinking of increasing it in the near future. The contention is not about giving. sure u can give 100% out of your freewill. But the topic is addressing TITHE if it's justified or not. And from biblical evidences, there is no justification for pastors to be receiving tithe and it's fraudulent to hide behind Malachi to threaten people to pay 10% of monthly income. Learn to be analytical when discussing, face the issue and away with your emotional sentiments |

IT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED MORE THAN ENOUGH IN D PAST BY NAIRALANDERS. why are you so pained? if to educate more people to see the truth about tithe is your frustration, then you have just started, the truth cannot be hidden for long |

ndcide: Stingy people.
Naturally, human beings find it difficult to give. Giving is painful that's why it should be a thing done with love.
God gave his only son. What can you give to God.
It is in giving that you receive. No man receive anything except it is given him.
The world don't want those who are children of God to have anything. They don't want the church to be rich,
You see Christians are now rich. They are able to own media houses which helps is spreading the gospel. Diluting the effects of evil programs from the media house.
The enemy stole the schools. Immorality was planted. God helped the Christians, they now own schools cultism and other vices are finding it difficult to thrive.
Christian are building industries.
The enemy has found the way to attack this.
THE OBJECTIVE : TO TAKE WEALTH AWAY FROM CHRISTIANS.
When they question every form of giving, they stop giving, then wealth is taken away. They think it's the pastors that are poor. NO!!!!!!!.
They question why we should give to build churches etc. When we don't build churches, the devil will build demonic and sin camps.
The enemy knows the truth and desperately wants this wealth exchange.
WHEN I HAPPENS, JUST LIKE THE STORY OF THE PHILISTINES AND THE ISRAELITE WHO WENT TO SHARPEN THEIR SWORDS IN THE CAMP OF THE ENEMY.
Christians do not allow the devil succeed with wealth exchange through anti giving campaigns.
A word is enough for the wise. So much emotions and sentiments in your post. stick to the topic, paying of tithe, is tithe biblical or not. If yes, prove it. Have you read the book of Deuteronomy chapter 14.? And why would pastors not preach that but stick to Malachi which was not even addressing Christians in the first place? Your rantings are unnecessary, it shows low level of intelligence and ability to think rationally . |

petra1: Beautiful ! At least it wassnt farm produce . It makes it clear that tithes is not about agric . It's about income . Either it's agric , salary , business gain. Or gift items.
It's a revelation of God revealed to Abraham . It started with Abraham .Abraham was not just a figure in the Bible He's our father of faith .
Galatians 3:14 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Romans 4:16 . . . . but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, You are yet to mention one place in the bible or New testament where it was said that tithe is money and should be paid to a pastor or church? stop coining the bible just to win an argument |

ilynem: If you don't want to pay tithe, there is absolutely no compulsion. Those who pay know what they gain and they aren't complaining. if you must pay tithe then do it the right way, take your money to Israel, buy your agricultural produce, go to the temple and offer them to the levites. Also you must practice the other laws of burnt offering, peace offerings and the rest |

petra1: All" the tithes to the priest and thou shall eat the tithe " do they sound the same ? YEARLY and every THREE years " do they sound same ?
1. The Levitical, or sacred tithe (Num. 18: 21, 24).
2. The tithe of the feasts (Deut. 14:22-27).
3. The tithe for the poor (Deut. 14:28, 29).
Who did Abraham eat his tithe with it is very obvious that tithe was never money but agricultural products. If Christians can do away with burnt offerings and the other ancient Israelite laws, why is tithe the only thing still being practiced ? just think about it |
