Then you don't know Pat. And please get into your heads that there are many people who think like him. Like me. I don't give a flying hoot about ethnic brotherhood. I don't believe that distributing posts to all ethnic groups is in any way whatsoever a requisite for good governance. Come to think of it, Nigeria has over 300 independent ethnic groups. So if we really want "fair" distribution, then let it go ROUND all the 300 groups! That's why I laugh at those "marginalization" screamers.

PoliticsBuhari Is Free To Appoint All His Cabinet From One Village – Pat Utomi by Dbrainiac1(op): 10:29am On Aug 07, 2015
Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party (SDMP) and public affairs analyst, Professor Pat Utomi, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is free to appoint whoever he desires, as long as those appointed have the highest capacity to take the bull by the horn.
In his address, during an interactive session with Daily Independent recently, Pat Utomi who described the criticism as ‘small and petty’, said the president can make all his appointments from one village as long as those appointed can get the job done.

Utomi said: “Let’s get serious. Let’s get to move this country forward and away from all this small, petty issues. To me it is not an important issue and I don’t want to deal with it.”

“The President can appoint everybody from one village. As long as the people can get the job done, let them get it done. That is what Nigerians wanted and that is what they voted for.”

The Political economist also advised Buhari not to be biased in choosing his cabinet members but rather fish out qualified personnel.
The President has been perpetually criticized of appointing only his kinsmen into the presidential cabinet. Some persons from the South-Eastern part of the country believed that Buhari’s refusal to appoint anybody from the region was attempt by the president to punish the region for giving him the least votes during the March 28 presidential elections.

CrimeAlaafin Lauds Police Over Arrest Of Kidnappers by Dbrainiac1(op): 9:39am On Aug 06, 2015
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has lauded the men and officers of the State Police Command for their efforts at ridding the State of criminals Speaking against the backdrop of recent arrest of some kidnappers, Oba Adeyemi enjoined his subjects to be watchful and quick to report any untoward activities in their area.
He said, “I thank men of the police and other security agencies for a job well done for bursting the crimes in this part of the state which is very surprising to us in this area.
The prompt action of the Police contributed to the immense discovery of the kidnappers, I must add that such people should not be allowed to exist in our societies.” “I have to say at this juncture that it is everybody’s duty to be alert over the happenings in their environment and keep the police informed about dangerous activities in their environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command has uncovered yet another kidnappers den at Oyagbe area in the ancient Oyo town. One victim was rescued from the hideout while five of the suspected kidnappers are currently been held by the police.
The hideout, which was visited by men of the Police command alongside reporters was said to have been a deserted hotel belonging to one Olatunji Kabiru who is presently in police custody.
While parading the suspects before reporters, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Katsina, said the Kidnappers came from Benin Republic and moved to Kwara State before settling in Oyo for their nefarious activities.
An elated Katsina told reporters, “We are happy to announce that a ground breaking discovery was made yet again and this time in Oyo town where some wicked individuals kidnapped a fellow human for ransom.

PoliticsCost Of President Buhari’s Trip To U.S. Grossly Exaggerated – Presidency by Dbrainiac1(op): 9:31am On Aug 06, 2015
The Presidency on Wednesday frowned at a newspaper report which exaggerated the cost of the recent visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United States.
Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity condemned the report in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said that contrary to the newspaper’s assertion, the total cost of the trip to the Nigerian taxpayer was at the most minimal.
He said the expenditure was in line with the policy of the All Progressives Congress-led administration to cut waste and extravagance.
He said that even the President’s son who was on the trip was neither paid allowances nor estacode while the five governors, who were also on the trip financed themselves.
Shehu said the Permanent Secretaries who traveled on the delegation did so in accordance with extant rules and none of them exceeded their estacode entitlements.
The statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to an editorial published in the Nigerian Pilot of August 2, 2015 and an earlier report in which the total cost of President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent trip to the U.S. was estimated at N2.2 billion.
“It is very sad that in this age of free-flowing information and in this era of CHANGE, a media organisation would make itself available as a vehicle to peddle a lie of such low and ignominious quality.
“Contrary to the newspaper’s assertions, the total cost of the trip to the Nigerian taxpayer was at the most minimal, in line with the policy of this administration to cut waste and extravagance.
“In point of fact, the total amount expended on the trip by the Office of the President amounted to nothing near ten per cent of the speculated figure.
“Owing to the free accommodation provided by the host government, all the personal staff who accompanied the President on the trip received reduced allowances.
“His son, Yusuf, received neither allowances nor estacode.
“The five governors on the trip each paid his own way. Permanent Secretaries who traveled on the delegation did so in accordance with extant rules and none of them exceeded their estacode entitlements.
“Apart from the Nigerian Pilot’s mischievous mathematics, it is shortsighted and misleading of the newspaper to have claimed that President Buhari’s trip to the U.S. achieved nothing.’’
Shehu noted that the Nigerian-US relations which had suffered severely over the past few years had now been restored.
He declared that the benefits of the symbiotic relationship between both contries would become more and more evident as the Buhari administration continues to tackle the challenges of corruption, insecurity and the economy.
He identified some of the immediate benefits of the trip to include the proposed 2.1 billion dollars fund from the World Bank for rebuilding of the North-East battered by Boko Haram and the five billion dollars from US investors in Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
Others included the1.5 billion dollars investment in the Nigerian health sector and another five billion dollars investment from the U.S. for the country’s power sector.
“Also, as things stand at the moment, the embargo on the sale of weapons sales to Nigeria is in the process of being removed.
“The trip to the U.S by President Buhari was definitely very successful and beneficial to Nigeria.
“Only those rabidly determined to find faults unnecessarily will cook up falsehood in a futile effort to rake up murk where none exists,’’ the statement concluded.

BusinessRe: The New Method Of Depositing Cash In Banks by Dbrainiac1(m): 9:21am On Aug 06, 2015
Dindondin:
There new method of depositing cash in Banks is either the use of ATM.
I witnessed this last week Friday at a GTBank and the practice has not stopped.
But I don't think other banks have started this.

How it works:
* You can use it to deposit N10,000 and below. The denominations must be in N500 or N1,000.

* To deposit, you have to type the banks general pin of 0000 and press the action. eg: deposit. Then you ll type the account number to deposit the cash, the phone number of the depositor. The machine will open its deposit hole and instruct you to place in your cash and you ll type the amount you are sending.

* It will notify you by showing you the full names and account number of the recipient which you ll v to confirm with the yes or no buttons.

* After this, the machine will credit the account of the receiver.

Note:
You must arrange your cash in a straight way so that it can enter the machine. Failure to do this will result in cash ejection. During this process, your cash may get rough or torn.
Last Bullet
The process is fast but can be risky because aside the security camera that records when someone was depositing, no one else is there to witness the day the machine malfunctions. Also, it may be risky to use it at odd hours like early in the morning, late at night or during quiet times like environmental sanitation day or curfew times.

CrimeFamily Of Man Killed By Telecom Firm’s Truck In Ondo Task Police On Justice by Dbrainiac1(op): 7:10am On Aug 05, 2015
‘Don’t shield our brother’s killer’ THE bereaved family of an auto-mechanic, Sunday Oladokun, who was allegedly crushed to death in a fatal accident at the Olu-foam, along Ilesha-Owo Expressway, have tasked Ondo State Police Command for justice. Oladokun’s relatives made the plea while reacting to the death of the breadwinner and father of four, after the fateful incident last Saturday, accusing security agents of an attempt to pervert justice. According to reports gathered by The Guardian, the 40-year-old Oladokun closed from work at about 7:30pm and headed home from his office around Agbogbo Junction on the Ilesha-Benin Expressway axis, which is a few kilometres drive away from his Olu-foam residence. He, however, had no inkling that death was lurking around the corner as he drove home in his blue old model car, which he bought less than two months ago on installmental payment and was yet to complete the payment till his demise. An eyewitness, who identified himself as Ayomide Akingbade, said he and another friend had barely flagged down Oladokun for the usual free ride home, but before the batting of an eyelid, a diesel tanker driver made a reckless overtaking and crushed him in a head-on collision. Another eyewitness, Tobi Dara, a colleague of Oladokun, said it took spirited efforts from the people at the scene to extricate the remains of the deceased from the wreck of his newly bought Volkswagen Passat. Speaking for the relatives, his sibling, Seun Oladokun and another friend, Tajudeen Lawal, accused the police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of complicity and trying to pervert justice in favour of the telecommunications firm, which owns the diesel tanker. According to them, the police were already trying to destroy the exhibits they would use to prosecute their case in the court of law. The bereaved family and relatives insisted that justice will possibly help alleviate the sufferings of the widow and four kids of the late auto- mechanic popularly known as “Sunday Rewire.” The children aged between two and 11 years. But the State Police Commissioner, Isaac Eke, remarked that it was too early to conclude who was at fault since it was a case of a fatal accident. He assured them that all those found culpable in the incident would be brought to book and punished after the appropriate department of the Command must have finished its investigation. The fatal accident occurred less than 48 hours after the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) protested nationwide against the incessant deaths of people on the highway by truck and trailer drivers, urging the government at all levels to restrict their movement from 7:00am to 6:00 pm daily.

PoliticsAGF Tasks Office Holders On Prudent Use Of Funds by Dbrainiac1(op): 7:02am On Aug 05, 2015
CITING dwindling revenue from oil, the
Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji
Ahmed Idris yesterday tasked public office
holders over efficient and judicious management
of government funds.
The AGF gave the charge yesterday while
hosting members of Association of National
Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in his office.
He stressed that at challenging moments in the
nation’s history when government’s resources
have grown so lean due to certain
circumstances, it was only imperative for public
office holders to shun corruption and ensure that
funds allocated to projects were prudently
managed.
Commending his guests and colleagues for their
visit, Alhaji Ahmed also charged ANAN and other
accounting professional bodies in the country to
champion the anti-graft crusade by ensuring they
adhere to ethics and standards in the discharge
of their duties.
Reacting to the call for synergy between the
office of AGF and the professional body, Ahmed
assured that his office would be neutral in
dealing with professional bodies. According to
him, all would be given opportunity to collaborate
in ensuring that those in places of authority
properly manage the nation’s lean revenue.
Earlier, the delegation led by its President, Chief
Anthony Chukwuemeka Nzom, had pledged its
support and willingness to collaborate with the
AGF, who according to members was the first
ANAN member to be appointed AGF.
Noting that the institution has graduated from
the conventional duties to include fraud
management and forensic accounting, the
President urged the AGF to avail professional
staff the opportunity to build their capacity in
ANAN affiliated institutions.
Nzom, who took time to chronicle other
achievements of ANAN and declared its assets
also pledged to raise the institution to
international standard.
