dat means dat u graduated wih a third class degree. It will have been better if u had graduated with a second class division. Ur budget is okay. If u graduated with at least a second class division, i would have helped u to process an admission into one of the most prestigious school in ireland with dat budget. I will like to know ur course of study. Why cannot u go for a top up programme with ur third class grade for one years?

@putut, i support ur assertion. U are right on point. There is so much sheer ineptitude and incompetencie among the lagos workforce. The project is dead on arrival becos of ethnic and politics colouration in the project. The bane of this country is the lack of sincerity of purpose. The beauty of democracy is the plularism of opinion. It is only the sheep dat have not mind of their own. They sold their mind for media propangada and junk journalism which re the handiwork of corrupt and morally bankrupt politicians who imposed their children as a market leader and create a tax consortium dat collect taxes on behalf of the state. Donot ask me who dat politician is. He has joined the league of mohammed ali in london.

@Mbhs139, lagos state was created in 1967 with mobolaji johnson, a seirra loenia as the military state governor. So, it cannot be regared as a federating . When lagos was the federal capital territory, there was no indigene and settlership dichotomy and the bordering ended at ebutte metta. Pple from other tribes were mayor of lagos pple like ozuba mbadiwe and nnamdi azikiwe was representing lagos west in ibadan and other tribes were elected into lagos house of asembly making decision dat will benefit the lot in lagos. Lagos was never part of the western region and if lagos need recognition as a special state, it should revert to its former status by adjusting its bordering. Bf lagos , there were capitals like calabar and others. Try and get ur fact right . The issues of state resident registration is a waste of money and duplication of duty. If u need figure about d lagos resident, go to the office of the national identity management. Our data is safe in the hand of the federal govt becos of the diversity of the work force , unity of purpose and natioanl outlook. There is a hidden agenda with the project . i sense ethnic profiling and politics in the venture. To me, the project is dead on arrival becos of lack of security of purpose and cosmopolitan nature of lagos which was not refelcted in the lagos workforce like kai, lasma and commissioners

If fashola need a true federalism, there are ways to go by it. We need to revert back to the glorious days of the west, east and northern region where the regions are autonomous. The states in nigeria today cannot lay claim to true federalism becos the states are created. In a federal sytem of government, states are not created. Wen american started practising democracy, we have 13 states and as time progresses other independent states which are interested in the union joins the union. now, we have over 52 states in the usa who submit their sovereignty to the union. There is ethnic mistrust becos of indigene and settler dichotomy. We need a national conference first to discuss our terms of collective existence and address the issues of ethnicity and citizenship. The situation where u are born in lagos and pay ur tax as a responsible citizens and u are deprived of lagos state scholarship is unacceptable and discriminatory. pple have the right to doubt the sincerity of the project becos of the recent happening in lagos especially the deportation saga who individual who were born and bred in lagos but deported to their state of origin which they hardly had a connection with and ethnic mistrust coupled with indigene and ethnic dichotomy. National id should be the best acceptable means of identification becos of security and diversity of the workforce in the ministry. The project of state resident registration is poor conceived and it is a waste of resource, ideas and energy and it is dead on arrival. i am personally boycotting the exercise becos of lack of security of my data and ethnic profilling. We must define who is a lagosian and its benefit and lagos should stand on its own as it was in the first republic. Lagos was never part of the western region. History can bear me witness.

There is one question dat i need to ask ameachi what is the poverty rate in river states. Have ameachi solved all the problems in river state, the answer is no. It is only those dat donot know what governance is all about dat will be applauding what is doing in river. He is so arrogant and lack social decorum. The good pple of riverstate should do away with such leader dat ride on presidential jet where millions of river state indigenes are homeless. He shoud be ashamed of himself dat river state is a one city state. Why is developemnt not felt in other local governments. Am not expecting gej to turn nigeria into paradise into two if it is easy why has the northern hegemony will have rule and ruin this country for 38 years not turn this country into paradise with all the power at their disposal. One of the disadvantage of democracy is slow decision taking becos of debate on issues and wide consultation. It took american 1000 years to perfect their democracy hw old is our democracy ? And we want to become america overnait, what we need is patience and understanding. Everything in life has an expiry date. Gej is doing his best to position this country to a greater height. It is not easy to govern a country like nigeria with muilt-ethnic group and over 450 languages. The upgrading of international airport and seaport in the south-east region is strategic to the economic development and diversification. The perception of agriculture is changing becos pple now see agriculture as an investment instead of charity. Thanks to adesina, a season professional. What we need is structure at every region to encourage healthy competition and growth. In the next 2years, the coming of the national carrier will create massive job opportunities for nigerian as a whole. Our best of day is certainly ahead of us. Gej represent the epitome of uncommon leader in nigeria today

@agbameta, hw many id cards are we going to be hanging on our neck. We have had enough of id. presently, we use work id, driver license id, national id and tax clearance id and school id. Hw many id do they want us to have. The state resident registration is madness, sheer and crass madness of the highest order. The government need to channel the funds to other sectors of the economy in lagos. Millions of pple are homeless and jobless. A vast proportional of lagosians are hungry and most students go to school with empty stomach. The project is already dead on arrival. I am going to boycot the fruitless exercise becos i have already gotten enough id especially national id which is acceptable in all states of the federation. States of the federations are created and they are mere appendages of the federal govt. If we want to practice true federalism, we must return to the region becos in true federalism, states are not created like in the usa

@mama oringo, tell me what u have benefited from lagos state as a whole. I am born and bred in lagos. By birth, i am a bonafide citizen of lagos as a whole . If lagos state has grouse with the fed govt, she should go to abuja and address dat issues with the fed govt. Am not the one dat moved the capital from lagos to abuja. The man who finally perfected such movement is currently living in minna, the maradona himself who robbed mk abiola his presidential ambition. The focus of the federal govt now is in abuja which is the nigeria pride and lagos as it is is an abandoned project of the fed govt. What lagos need to do is to sponsor a bill dat will recognised lagos as a special state but i doubt if the bill will succed until lagos is reverted to its status as a former capital without indigene- and settler dichotomy. I mean lagos should remain on her own like abuja with fct minister without a governor. The project dat fashola is embarking upon is a waste of resources , time and energy,. U remember what happens to lagos driver license which has become a by gone issues. The money invested on dis project can be best channeled into poverty alleviation programme dat will help rehabilitaed osun and ibadan miscreants who have turn every bustop of lagos into their offices and extorting money from the danfo driver while the passenger bears the brute of high trnasport fare and a vast proportion of lagosians living in slums like ajegunle, agric ikorodu and abule tailor and others. The only thing dat i am benefiting from lagos is beautification and waste managment by lawma. I need much much considering my contribution to the development of lagos tru consistent tax payment and erection of building and other viable investment. We need a functional public schools and access to portable water and functional transport network as it is obtained in south africa and kenya not to mention uk and usa. We need more strategic and forward loooking leader who is effective in the management of scarce resources. There can never be lagos and abuja without oil money and federal government presence.

@desola stop fooling ur self. The states in nigeria are mere appendages to the federal government. The state governmors are not in control of the polices which are under the control of the federal govt. Nigeria today is truly practising unitary sytem of govt. Power is concentrated at the center making it strong and attractive but the regional components are weak. The state which u regarded as a federating unit canot contro its own resources and create his own police and driver license as it is done in the usa. Nigeria is federal on paper but unitary in practice. The governors are jst ceremonial chief security officers of the state. The real power lies with the federal government

Lagos govt initiatives have nothing to do with with the igbo pple. But pple have the right to boycot the exercise if they sense insincerity in it. Must we tribalise all issues? If ur place of birth is not recognised by your host state, the affected pple may not have a sense of belonging to the state and own their allegiance to their state of origin. It is quick to cite the america case wen it involves the state of resident registration but it is not quick to cite d american case wen it come to the place of birth and citizenship . I sense so much insincerity in this exercise and ethnic profiling for the 2015 election to see if other tribe population in lagos posed a threat to the survivial of apc in lagos. Make no mistake, politics is a game of number. If it is very easy to cow the indigene of the state with media propanda and junk journalism, it may not work for the other tribes in lagos. The project about resident registration is about ethnic profiling becos information such as state of origin and age will be provided. I see this project collapsing becos of lack of sincerity of purpose which has become the bane of this country dvelopment from independance to date

I sense so much ignorance and stupidity among the contributors in the nairaland trying to compare nigeria with the usa. I agree dat america practised tru federalism but the states in the america were not created. The states in nigeria including lagos were created and they can not be regarded as federating units. The only federating units we have in nigeria were the regions especially the east, west and north regions. the conduct of state census in the name of residence id is a misplaced priority and insincerity at its peak. If lagos state need the accurate census of lagos, she can approach the office of the npc to get the figure or national identity management. The finance dat is invested in this venture or project is a completed waste and the exercise is a senseless duplication of duty. National Census is at the exclusive list of the federal government. There are many projects in lagos dat are begging fo attention. We need low cost building for the massess and more secondary schools for the growing population. A situation in which a teacher is serving 300 students or pupil in the class is unacceptable. Most of the state roads are in indeplorable state and the tuition fee in lasu is exorbitant and currently, lagos is the most indebted state with huge internal revenue generation. An average house in lagos is like a local government area. Each home provides its pipeborne water and pay for security. Also, sometimes, it provides its own electricity. Govt need to set its priority right so dat the ordinary pple on the street can feel the impact of the government and enjoy the dividend of democracy. Unfortunately, what we are experiencing is demonstration of craziness.

What fashola did was condemnable in totality. He has jst exposed his tribal closet nature. If u ignore an igboman in your regional development, you did dat to the peril of your region. An average igboman has the dna of hardwork, competition, religion, expansinism and adventure. That is why it is difficult to imagine a state in nigeria without an igbo presence. Wen i was growing up in lagos around ikeja in pepple street where fela shrine was, the place used to be a canter for hooliganism and brigandage. But wen the igbo pple discovered the businesss potential of the place, they turn it into a busness hub for computers and phone technology. The same story goes for gsm village which used to be a center for rearing cows and other animal. These are the kind of spirits dat we need in lagos not forceful extortion of money at every bustop in lagos by social miscreants from ibadan and osun state and illegal collection of owo ile by omo onile who are not even indigene of the state. Fashiola should respect genuine investors in lagoss and protect their interest as it is done in other part of the civilised clan. It is the adventure part of the igbo pple jsst like the jews, dat make them to travel far and wide in the north part of the country despite the hostility going on there. Now, china and japan are now the igbo adopted home. Even if you turn the south eastern region to paradise jst like what the jews did in isreal, the some igbo pple will still leave the shore of their region. Adventure , competition and expansionism are the factors behind the igbo migration. Ignoring the igbo pple has a dire consequence in lagos. lagos development is built on migration of diverse ethnic group of the other part of the countrya dn federal government presence. No state governor has the right to deport nigerians to another sake for any reason. Fashola has lost his sense of history. He need to tender and apology to the i and pay adequate compensation to the deportee. His action represents an epitome of insanity. A word is enough for the wise.

What the governor did was totally wrong and condemnable. Dat is the unspeakable result wen a title such as a senior advocate of nigerian is given based on political patronage instead of merit. Fashola should have understand the implication of his action and i expect the federal governemt to take up a case against the state government for blatantly violating the constitution and usurping the power of the federal government. Lagos is an immigrant state which was developed by the collective resources of nigerian as a whole and i expect the governor to accept both the asset and liability of immigration. The governor should develop a strong and effective social programme dat required deep thinking instead of taking primitive and barbaric policies. That is why i am recommending the removal of indigene and settler dichotomy in the constitution and the state of origin should be replaced with state of residence to create cohesion and sense of belonging. For one to be born in a place but not recognised as an indigene is the height of insanity becos every body is a settler as no one brings land frm heaven or hell. Employment into the civil servant should be based on state of residence instead of state of origin. There is advantage in diversity which is what lagos as an entity is benefittting frm. all tribes need each other to survive no matter what. No tribes have th monopoly of wisdom, culture and intellect. Fashola need to rehabilitate the social miscreant who are extorting money frm the motorist forcefully and put an outright ban on omonile hooligan they have become a thorn in the flesh of lagosian and an eyes sore to the payol eyes. The hue and cry over ethnicity and tribalism must stop to pave way for good governance and democratic growth

If the aboved replies are the quality of reponses from the nigerians over the complaints of overbloated re-occurrent expenditure of the bayelsa state, then something must wrong with this country. the future of this country considering the quality of oreintation and intellectual framework of the avearge youth is bleak. You need to critically appraise or assess a report before you make an informed response devoid of sentiment and functional fixation. Frm these responses above, i can simply sense most of the contributors to the issue at hand lacks intellectual depth and have an unhealthy functional fixation for the bayelsa people. Most of the states are sufferring from similar problems where you have re-occurrent expenditure to be far above capital expenditure. bayelsa today is much of a civil servant state and there is a need for the government to put infrastructure in place to support inflow of foreign investment. The agricultural sectors need to be revatilised to engage army of unemployed youth. How many of the youth of the bayelsa state are given jobs by the oil and ga sector. A situation where the middle level and top level manpower is recruited from one state and taken to their operation company in bayelsa state is unacceptable and it must stop. There are professional, graduates and technocrats among the pple. Make no mistake. The state need a heavy federal government presence as it is done in abuja and lagos. The state deserves coastal rail transport, long bridges and seaport as superstructure to support economic growth and development. Skills aquisition, trade education should be made relevant to the youth, which are the state's hope for a better and brighter tomorrow. Under the leadership of dickson, the future of an average bayelsan is bright and glorious.

The first lady is not campaigning for his husband re-election come 2015 but she is jst setting a stage for future ambition of his husband. I think dat there is nothing wrong with such move. The media who are supposed to be balance and objective in their reportage have decided to politicise the issues of her visit to her homeland to initiate a programme dat will improve the lives of women who have suffered from neglect and deprivation for so many years. I have said and i am saying it again dat one of the bane of nigerian development is unethical journalism who are spinning falsehood and propangada to wipe public sentiment becos they know dat an average nigerian doesnot have the intellectual depth to critically assess report bf accepting d facts in the report. Media used to represent the opinions of ordinary nigerians back in the days but now they are representing the opinions of those who owns them. These calibre of pple are not ordinary men but men who loot public treasury, build dynasty and ride on presidential jets at the expense of the poor. As nigeria stands today, gej represent the best of leader dat we have ever have. He is consolidating our democracy and building institution which are the pillar and bedrock of a long lasting democracy. He is also freeing nigeria from the bondage of ages of the northern hegemony who are hell bent on mortgaging the future of the country and depriving the south frm achieving their destiny. Nigerians have gone far beyond the awolowo tribal politics and sensational jounalism to cow a region to be slavish to a political party even if a goat was presented as a candidate. Nigerians now know better and they will throw their weight to a performing leader. Our nascent democracy is on course and the worst of democracy is better than the best military rule. Olabode george is right on point. Nigeria as a country will fail to exit without the pdp leadership. Pdp is a truely national party encompassing all ethnic groups and representing our diversity as the source of strength. Managing the party is quite daunting becos of shades of ideas, belief and value system but the party remain the best and model political party after ncnc. The party has a strong internal mechanism which it uses to resolve its internal conflict. That is why a regional party like ad, ac and acn which lacks originality of leadership continues to seek inspiration and outsource its leadership frm pdp rejectee, especially atiku, ribadu and the like. political party is like a marriage and hence, there is bound to be conflict. Conflict in itself is the test of strength and beauty of the party. Any political parties dat have no crisis are hypocritical parties. Pdp i strongly believe in will come out stronger than ever before as the leading political party in africa . the anti- democratic forces are weeded out of the united group. If u have been to a federal institution, u will appreciate the beauty of a group of all ethnicities. I appreciate the point made by george even thought his crime were political motivated. There are many politicians who have commited worse heinious crimes dan him but they are still roaming d country and seeking for political relevance. I take a closer look at the msg but not the messenger. Those who are condemning the man are also those who take awolowo who was convicted in 1963 by justice sowemimo of lagos high court of treasonable felony purnishable by 10years imprisonment with hard labour with 800 page indisputable as their hero bf being released by ojukwu frm calabar prison and pardoned by general gowon in 1966. The outright war on the social miscreant is a welcome development. However, the ban on dis lazy minded idiot is belated and their actions are primitive and crude. They practically turn every bustop in lagos into garage extorting money from commercial danfo driver in the public even in the presence of police officers. Wen maruwa was the governor of lagos, he dealt ruthlessly with dis miscreant and the repented ones found one form of menial jobs or the other. Most of the social miscreats comes frm ibadan and osun states and sadly, they are muslims. Am not saying dat all muslims are social miscreants. Tunubu institutionalised area boys in lagos in 1999 becos he believed dat his bulk of vote came frm them. He is even described as the father of social miscreants and i doubt if the policy of the government will go down well with him. The situation in which a state continues to generate area boy and export them to lagos is unacceptable. It clearly shows weak culture, failed family institution and failed government at regional level. These set of social miscreats can borrow a cue frm igbo traders who are doing legitimate business in every state they found them selve in and contribute to the economic and social development of the host state tru commerce instead of involving in brigandage and hooliganism and willing tools in the hand of selfish and self centered politicians. We must stop the culture dat brings social miscreats now majorly in south west region and expose the wayward thugs to a civilised way of life tru commerce and engagement in vocational training or farm settlement bf they are radicalised into terrorism like micheal adewale and micheal adebanjo in britain becos of radicalisation induced dna
