ronaldo's girl friend mama gee desperately wants to know if anyone thinks her boyfriend could take the ballon dor from king messi. But sorry to burst your bubble woman, i dont see roaldo outscoring messi this season since its 56 for ronaldo and 63 for messi. Messi only needs to maintain top scorer and win the kings cup to continue his reign.

1025: if u don't stop all your fraudulent ways of winning, no matter how much you try to restructure the team, you will be the enemy of the masses. even in the presence of all barca winnings, they ended up making more enemies than friends. your team in the past few years has been a subject of controversies both in la liga and uefa.
i see the downfall of a team made up of divers and cheats who are super stars but cannot concentrate on playing football but rather choose to win in dramatic fashions destroying every ref they see or meet along the line.
the first move in your suggested restructuring will be KILLING THE CHEATING SPIRIT IN THE TEAM.
have u ever asked yourself why barca is still high on debt even with all and everything they win?
the fear of what mourinho will say next brought in complex in the team and they lost self confidence.
barca has the best players you can ever think of but they want to cheat when they can beat teams easily with their qualities and class.
look at madrid, even when u hate them, u can't point to controversies or cheating when they win.
if man u fans are around, let them take this same massage to their club because very soon, i mean very very soon or sooner than we can imagine, they will experience their downfall because to a typical nigerian, two teams are called pdp and they include; barcelona and man u.
my massage to these two teams today is; REPENT OR U PERISH.
you're wrong brother! only nairaland haters, motor park touts, beer parlour discussants, agrieved madrid and man u fans hate yhis barca team. seasoned football pundits, ex players, current players, football columnists call this barcelona the best football side in history. they say this barcelona side plays the best football ever seen in a long time. so go bury yourself hater!

the irony is that some people are still mentioning uefa. was it uefa that asked terry to kick sanchez off the ball from behind? or was it uefa that asked fabregas to be brought down in the box? are soem people just too illiterate or were they just born stvpid?

We need a Vincent Company , we need a fernando llorente, we need at least 5 big guys in our squad. big guys to deal with set pieces. we dont need 8 five footers anymore. we need to shoot more from outside the box.

what a black week! never been so depressed. we had no business conceeding that first goal at the stroke of half time. 2-0 up at the time, we could have just put a few guys back and seen the game to half time. that's were all the problems started from. different day, same sshitt. same errors. chelsea really deserve commendation for seeing the game off with ten men. i hope they do get a good squad together for the final. as expected they ve got my backing now.

coogar: this is a rant - madrid fans cannot be bothered about 70% possession or 95% possession.
it is what you do with the possession that counts. pep guardiola is an idiot - i admire his
bravery for coming up with so many attacking ideas but there are times he's done it so stupidly.

possession is just a means to an end. when guardiola first took over, attacking was their intention
and possession was a tool with which they achieved it. these days, it seems possession is the intention and
scoring has become secondary. nobody dares shoot from a distance for fear of losing possession.
of what essence is 77% possession without scoring? pep guardiola should take some blame here.

playing 3-4-3 against madrid's 4-2-3-1 is a tactical harakiri.
with madrid on the attack, busquets had to drop deeper to make up for the missing defender thus
leaving ozil with all the time in the world to cause havoc. if you allow ozil to receive the ball
and look up for a pass, then it's trouble! madrid deserve the la liga title, they have been the better team.

mba emeka: @ ALL

The statements about Barca and guardiola are unfair and unfounded. It was just a win. LAST season Getafe beat barca there 1-0...shit does happen in football. These same Barca beat madrid 6-2, 2-0, 2-0, 3-1, 2-1 in the last seven or so odd games at BERNABEAU!. thats a whopping if you ask me.
Secondly madrid by no stretch of anybodies imagination play better than barca (both in that game and for close to eternity). They simply won the game. Kudos to them. Barca had 70% of the possession, more chances, and even more shots on goal. It took dogged defending from segio ramos and co and jadedness from messi to secure this win. I felt with the xavi chance being converted earlier on it would have been a different game entirely.

It is an act of the devil to conclude that barca is on a downhill because of the loss. In the last two games that they have lost they bossed the whole game constraining the opposition to just behind the centre half. Madrid had to counter and search for set pieces to be alive in the game. I also felt that barca concentrated on playing too well to secure the win- they looked for neat one twos, through passes et al. It wouldnt work all the time, you would need to play dirty some times.

But the Tall striker thingy is not neccessarily the solution. As AJanlekoko (sorry for misspelling it) has rightly said, all those solutions didnt work well. Barca should just play dirty, xavi and co can take shots from outside the box they mustnt always depend on Messi to deliver the goods.

The whole farce about messi not showing up when xavi and co dont is getting annoying. Messi has more assists than both xavi and iniesta this season and Ronaldo is more heavily dependent on ozeil, benzema, alonso and co than messi is on the other lads in barca. Ronaldo thrives in teams that play for him. Notwithstanding he is a very GREAT player.

I dont think chelsea can withstand the barage they would face at nou camp for two reasons: the size of the pitch and the lone goal difference! Mourinho needed the two goal advantage while at inter because at 1-0 and say extra time barca wouldve crushed inter. If barca score an early goal or not the game would have to go into extra time making chelsea to suffer longer. forget the argument that barca would get fatigued pressing for too long. This is not a muhammed ali vs forman fight in football the longer you dont have the ball the faster you get jaded. Thats why most big teams still nick it and beat the small teams in that situation.

NB: I am an ARSENAL FAN.
well said.

when it's all said and done and the dust haze settles, man u win the epl, juve win the serie A, madrid win la liga, anyone win the uefa. barca would still MAJORLY be regarded as the best club in the world for another couple of years at least. regarded not by men in beer parlours, not by the crowd of people in view centres, not by touts at motor park who think they know football, not by barca fans on nairaland, not by barca haters on nairaland but by international football pundits on tv stations and radio stations, pundits in the media, coaches and players, past and present.it's just an irony but i guess it's obvious to everyone that there's definitely a lot more to it than a couple of very very very rare defeats to some long long long oppressed opponents. need i say also that the camp nou might have been a little shitty on saturday night alright, but the bernebeau should then be a sshitt dump with a soak-away pit going by the trend of events in their 85,000 seater stadium over the past 3 years. I MEAN SOME real 'MESSI SHITT.'

-the first player to scorer 5 goals in a single champions league match.
-the first player to score 14 goals in a champions league season.
-one of the first players to win 3 fifa/ ballon dor awards.
-one of the first players to be top scorer in 3 consecutive champions league campaigns.
-now with 63 he's second and 5 more goals and he'd be the highest scorer in a single european season.

one win in 11 games and they gonna declare a public holiday, one league title in four seasons and they gonna declare a public holiday, one head to head win in 10 attempts for ronaldo against messi and they gonna declare a public holiday. it's been 3 years of suffering for madrid and ronaldo , so they may have this one. though i warn it wouldn't last 2 long.

love4ual: real madrid deserves this......ranaldo has worked so hard for this since three seasons.......my thing is messi will not do as this well in another club...truth be told....without iniesta and xavi.....leo is not too magical....

but overtime we have seen ronaldo again and again, season after season..time after time....showing signs of a great player......

bercelona will surely win the champions league against madrid or bayern.....and kings cup.....for the fact that madrid won this match is okay...

but this is what i agree on...bercelona will not be as effective as this next season.....after next season...they will certainly slow down....
what! are you trying to say that ronaldo is not benefitting from ozil, alonso, kaka, de maria, marcelo, benze and othershuh or he didnt benefit from scholes, giggs, rooney, tevez, fletcher and co? man ur comment is not intelligent at all. messi is the only player who dribbles 4, 5 defenders consistently to score a goal? and you call that xavi and iniesta? for 3 years guadiola has been f*,king mourinho , so let him have this one, for 3 years messi has been f*<king ronaldo so let him have this one, for 3 years barca has been f*<king madrid so let madrid have this one. so now all you man u, arsenal, chelsea and them real madrid fans can enjoy your public holiday.

what a dark week it's been. we've been here before. 2 years ago when inter eliminated barcelona, the event was celebrated evenmore than christmas. it was almost a world public holiday. that's why it feels so good to rep barcelona. however having won 3 titles in a row its okay not to win a fourth. for the first time in a very long while i would agree that messi flopped in the game. and ronaldo got the goal. messi has been owning ronaldo year in year out so it's also ok for ronaldo to take this one. after all he is the fourth best player in the world.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 11:27am On Apr 21, 2012
Stealthy: We need to have a better strategy for playing against park-the-bus teams. We can call it anti-football but the truth is that almost every team that has succeeded (or nearly succeeded almost) against Barca in the last few years has emploed this same tactic.

The onus is on Pep to find a solution against such teams other than pass, pass, rack up high possession stats, but no goals.

1. We need to be clinical with the few chances we get. We have the best midfield in the world and they will always create chances for the attackers. But will they take those chances?

2. We need to shoot more from outside the box. When teams are parking the bus, they make it harder for their keeper to see incoming shots, plus there's always a chance of deflections.

3. We do need a proper out and out striker, possibly a tall one of the Ibra mould. While the Ibra move didn't turn out well (he was way too expensive; Pep wasn't as patient with him as he would with the Catalan/La masia boys; he didn't exactly fit into the team), it doesn't change the fact that we need proper scorers who can also head in a cross.
the only way to counter this 'park the bus' system is by parking the bus as well or praying for luck. when your opponent puts 8 men behind the ball, only luck can work it out.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid (1 - 2) On 21st April 2012 by ddippset(m): 8:50am On Apr 21, 2012
if football was a fair game, barca would win 99.9% of their games. but football isnt really a fair game. just as evil sometimes prevails over good, anti-football sometimes prevails football.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:35am On Apr 21, 2012
we all have seen how teams park the bus against barca. i mean some of the biggest teams in the world. several times madrid have done it, inter, and now chelsea. ( nuff props to man u and arsenal who aren't cowards but come out to contest the ball man- to- man) at the end of the day they call it a pattern. they chase the ball, they struggle for possession, they put in tackles, they run and run and run; despite these they fail to win the ball. they go for their last resort; put 8 men behind the ball .and then they call it a pattern. barca attack , attack and attack. they dont go for the initiative. they only depend on barca to make a mistake. at the end they call it a pattern. there's no one who doesn't want possession and when ure not good enuff to get the ball back, you call it a pattern. but at the end football is football. just as evil sometimes prevails over good, anti-football sometimes prevails over football.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Dani Alves: Chelsea Play With Fear & Lack Courage by ddippset(m): 7:56am On Apr 21, 2012
there's no such thing as a plan B. putting 8 men behind the ball is no pattern. it's just an excuse for a team that struggles for the ball but cannot get hold of it. we all saw chelsea struggling to get the ball off barca but to no avail. they struggled for balls, they marked , they chased, but couldn't regain possession. they were forced tom put 8 men at the back; it was no pattern. so it's laughable when teams tell us they put 8 men at the back and they call it a pattern. it's laughable. you try you try you try but you fail to get the ball and then you call it a pattern. well football is football. sometimes you do not play nothing put you win the game based on your opponents error. and then you call it a pattern.

1025: @logica,
i understand now.

@debraska and supporters,
how market?
barcelona and chelsea meeting is on record, 11 times, chelsea won 4, barca 3 and draw 4. too much talking does not play ball. at least everybody went home without shouting ref. let us see another free and fair officiating in camp nou and chelsea will do their thing. the truth about arsenal and barca is that they play wonderful and entertaining football but real coaches do have we is called plan b. if a team is better than u in one pattern, u switch over but if u say, i will die entertaining, u must be ready to cry in the dressing room. arsenal and man u always fail against barca because they follow barca to play their pattern but if u watched this last game on a good tv set, u will agree with me that barca noticed their game style is not working there in standford bridge hence they resorted to long balls which is our game. messi later found himself playing at the back with puyol in front yet there was rejected and condemned man by name mikel - he said no.
who will remember 99% ball possession next year? who will talk about 200 goal attempts? my prayer is that barca will play their ball possession come tuesday while chelsea will continue with their goal possession.
i was shocked when i saw that barca spokesman(dani alves) was rated 5.5 while the only nigerian man(jom) in champions league was rated 7.0.
my igbo ppl dey talk say, if mouth go to war and leg go afterwards, it doesn't come back.
remember, barca did not win chelsea the last time they visited standford bridge even with ovrebo, they could only get a draw.
i am happy that u have gone deaf and dumb since wednesday and so shall it remain.
hey why all this lip glossing? why not just wait for the second leg in 3 day's time, then you can bring on more statistics.

how could a man like mourinho called a barcelona goal luck. a man who always sticks his tail behind his legs when he plays barca. a man who always parks the bus when he plays barca because he is scared to attack. a man who is always completely outplayed by barca. and then call a barca goal a lucky goal? a man who team never matches barca man for man in a football game. like i sadi before these 1 billion passes and 99% possession arent for nothing. let anybody win the champions league but barca would always be regarded as the best team in the world or even history. just like when inter won the champions league, barca was still the most revered, regarded as the best. it is our legacy.
