My friend applied for her niece and the UKVI is requesting for further document oh...GOD abeg

The father of the little girl is late and the mother is in the village.

My friend husband is the student and the whole family has gotten their visa for 2 weeks now...so she escalated the niece application 2days ago and UKVI replied with request to providing further document

As at the time of the visa application for her niece, she submitted LEGAL GUARDIAN, FATHER'S DEATH CERTIFICATE, LETTER FROM THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER permitting them to travel with her daughter, RECIEPT OF THINGS BROUGHT FOR THE LITTLE GIRL, SCHOOL FEES PAYMENT RECEIPT AND HER SCHOOL RESULTS.

But still UKVI is still requesting for document. I have attached screenshot to the email they got from UKVI and anyone with idea to what they can submit should help please.

Yes you will need a transit visa or visa on arrival plus obtain a pre-approval from the General Directorate of General Security for a visa on arrival if you have a return ticket

If that’s the only route and your Uni advised to apply through UCAS then fine

Most Unis have a separate process for international students, and if they do, it’s best you follow that to avoid your application getting stuck in UCAS

Some flights offer unaccompanied minors flights but is age dependant, I know emirates used to be one

2.They can travel with grandparents but consent must be given

3. I hope you have critical reason why their father didn’t apply with them.That should be your main concern.

Yes UKVI can verify certificates if they suspect it is not authentic

It doesn’t always take a long time plus there is a clear contact person to do so with the Uni if necessary

As long as your documents are authentic and your Uni is informed then don’t worry too much

I have employed the services of the International Office to chase up my visa application with UKVI. Even though they've not be successful, I got an insight from the response they get on what could be delaying my visa decision, please see attached. I know I don't have problem with financial verification but if UKVI conducts verification on degree certificates, I have a real concern with my school responding to their query in time and could well be what is delaying my visa. The question is does UKVI actually verify degree certificates issued in Nigeria?

Tracker and collection mail is from TLS, if it isn’t far from you , you might have a go at just checking

Otherwise since you escalated it, be patient

Dependants can arrive anytime

Myself and dependent had bio on aug 21st... I'm already in UK for study but my wife's application is still at DMC on tracker...we have been told repeatedly that decision has been made since 8th of September or so....we have request for it to be escalated. What else do we need to do?? Decision has been made but no collection email for over 10days☹️

Your PoF is for you study in the UK

Any other arrangement is deceit and will attract a 10year ban when caught

2. Why are you applying through UCAS, there should be another route for international student, have you checked?

If your Father is your sponsor then you are privately funded

I am the main applicant and I got my decision letter that my application has been successful on the 14th of September after an empty NSF mail and one paid mail.
However my dependent who is my spouse has not gotten hers. Although she also got an empty NSF mail on the 29th of August 2023.
I did a paid mail for her and the response was that "the application is being considered and is awaiting decision" on the 18th September which is today .
Please is it advisable to reply UKVI requesting for escalation? And also, is it advisable for the main applicant to withdraw from the proof of funds and leave the one that covers only the dependent in the account.

What issues are you having with paid mails or calls?

You should be able to do so yourself without paying anyone, agents aren’t encouraged on this platform and scammers are everywhere lurking

Besides you are going for a masters degree and should be able to do these things yourself comfortably

Tell us the concern so we can guide appropriately

Investment accounts are fine as long as it clearly states that the funds are accessible to you

Accessible means you should be able to access your funds within 24hrs

If that isn’t the case then go with your second option

Hello House, please is TB test generic for all application or specific for a school. I already filled the school name and have an appointment coming Friday to upload the test result for CAS shield. Lately, I discovered the school payment plan is not flexible and immediately reapplied to other school to weigh my options.Though It could take up to 2 weeks to get response .
Please is it advisable to go ahead with the TB test if its possible for usage in the new school or I rescheduled and modify to the new school.

Please inform your Uni about the delays and provide evidence to them to show that you have escalated this with UKVI

Hopefully you are given some more time to resume or an online option to join your classes before physically enrolling

On the 23rd of august I escalated my case but still nothing from UKVI this week on the 13 of September I did another escalation I was told to wait for another 15 working days

If the visa type on your vignette is correct then you won’t need to return your passport. If it’s wrong then you will need to return your passport

I am uncertain of where the error stops

Unless it is research based masters or PhD you can’t travel with dependants from Jan 2024

The rules are clear

Universities are now required to confirm if it is a taught or research based course

Unless people have free visa money to waste then they can try and see

If you submitted your application in April

Your statement should be 28days before the date you submitted in April till date (16th September 2023).Covering the entire 5months plus.

It certainly will be more than 28days because of the gap you have had between applying and biometrics

Priority doesn’t always mean a decision must be made in 5days , if more time is needed you will be informed

2’z. You can contact UKVI on Monday to get an update on the status of your application through a paid call or mail

3. I am uncertain of what you mean by “POF drop”. Your POF is for your study in the Uk, any other arrangements is deceit and will attract a 10year ban when caught

1. You have gotten your collection mail, if there are no refusals by now then congratulations

2. The BRP mail will follow shortly,

3 . The tracker takes time to update sometimes I won’t be too bothered about it

You are correct.

I travelled through Frankfurt recently for a short visit to Nigeria and although I don’t need a transit visa, others with temporary residency had to get a transit visa

How long ago was this and what visa/passport do you have?

If it is a technical stop over then that’s different, you don’t need to leave the plane as it basically will be refuelling and won’t need a transit visa

If it’s not an technical stopover, and you get off the plane to the airport, you need a transit visa

Your transit there is rarely up to 4hours you don't leave the airport.. You don't need transit.

I'm trying to fill for my wife's visa(dependant) and on getting to the end of the UKVI I click on to pay for her ihs fee.. but to my greatest surprise the amount is 0 USD.... What may have been the cause ?

I haven't proceed the application after seeing that cuz I assumed there is a problem somewhere.

What might have been the cause ?


Can I proceed to pay her visa fee ?
