RabbiDoracle:Word. |
Yayira:Dogs are now killing tigers on NSE. |
OBAGADAFFI:I concur. With just 10bn outstanding shares and a probably far less free float, manipulation would be very easy. The stock is a very anomalous one. |
yom2:And the question is, how likely is one to come across these considerate tenants? |
Mpeace:What gives you the perception that if it comes down to N1 it will repeat the upward cycle soon enough afterwards to necessitate doing the bolded? |
Mpeace:Real Estate investment is the investment I dread most in Nigeria followed by transportation. In the real estate sector it is almost as if there are really no laws protective of the investor. |
PrecisionFx:It is well known that the only other tribe which can lay claim somehow to aboriginal status in Lagos is Edo. However the Yoruba subgroups still dominate aboriginality status. Lagos ownership has become an issue today because of its long lasted status as federal capital under this unitary system without which it would not have ever overtaken any of the former regional capitals (Enugu, Ibadan, Benin and Kaduna) development and expansion wise hence no one would have been interested in who owns it and who doesn't. |
emmanuelewumi:High level language. |
hammer6U:I am not Yoruba buy you see, in fairness to Yorubas, they, during pre-independence era, repeatedly made themselves clear that if having the federal capital would impose on Lagos the "no man's land" status, then they would not only accept the shift of federal capital from Lagos but that their region's government will gladly provide monetary support for the development of the new capital wherever else it was taken to. It was rather the very myopic political leaders from the other parts of the South that kept on dreaming one Nigeria against all evidence pointing starkly to the contrary, thus rejecting the opportunity to have the capital shifted to their regions so that they too could have a city developed by all Nigerians' resources and energies collectively. Moreover, the system of governance which ended up concentrating all the nation's revenues in Lagos long enough to give the city this irreversible primacy and excessive dominance over all other cities initially ahead of it was imposed on the country not by Yorubas but by army officers from the SE and the North. So Yorubas did not ever beg other Nigerians to help them develop Lagos hence they are morally justified to do whatever they like with the city. It is a lesson to all other tribes that it does not pay to love others at your own expense especially when the person you are running after and begging for unity does not give a fucking damn about you. |
I am happy with this development. At least my state's government too will eventually make the ability to speak one of the State's indigenous languages a condition for admission to AAU and other state owned institutions. Generally speaking, the rejection of non-indigenes in Lagos institutions for inability to speak Yoruba will eventually force the governors of all other states not only to make revenge policies but to as well expand the existing state owned schools and build new ones. Who said restructuring back to true federalism has not started? No force on earth, they say, can stop an idea whose time has come. Since the useless NASS has rejected every bill aimed at kick-starting restructuring, the process just must find another means to commence however irrational it might appear at first. It is obviously starting from the education sector and will definitely spread over all other sectors with time. |
crispgg:As per the first bolded; the issue of difficulty with the language codes here confronts every newcomer alike. All you need do is to keep looking critically at the context in which any code is used and you'll get it after few attempts. When I first joined this house about 5 months ago as a fresher it did not take me much time to discover that DD, Jijo, jijoist, MM and IGG respectively mean Due Diligence, jump in jump out (i.e. bargain hunting), bargain hunter, Market maker and Initial gra gra. Though I am yet to know what exactly "Janet" is used to mean here, believing I soon will. As per the second bolded; you obviously got discouraged and exited the market for some time due to being burnt by that market crash. The truth is that we all were burnt by that same crash with some of us suffering even second and third degree burns but refused to withdraw like you did, and through the ensuing experience got better equipped on how to identify potential short term upswings as you observed. For the third bolded; you seem to be very modest in approach to life to be looking at 25℅ profit in a whole year. However, you have been advised to look the way of DANGOTE FLOUR and SUGAR, FIDELITY, FBNH and some few others doing really well if that is your purview. Lastly, the most deadly mistake anyone would ever make in the Nigerian investment environment is to share the belief that there are stocks he can buy and then go and sleep. Please perish that perception. You are likely to wake up and discover that you missed several opportunities to make a life changing profit while you were asleep. |
currentprice:I hereby register as your assistant portfolio manager to get just 1℅ commission on that 400m and I will be through with hustling on NSE for the rest of my life. |
9free:You won't blame yourself really. This current rally the stock is in has defied all known public psychology attitudes. I was about to buy at N0.75 but suddenly saw the volume traded hitting almost 100℅ of the previous day's volume and I quickly withdrew because I had thought that such volume spike marks imminent reversal coupled with the fact that Agba too once confirmed it here and it worked for FCMB and Diamond. But, alas! Japaul keep galloping amidst crazier volume spikes. I have however chosen to persevere in my decision to resist the temptation to jump in ever again. |
investman:You see, this forum is a very busy one. Your perception that there are VIPs here is wrong. It only takes asking your questions in an abnormal, extraordinary or aggressive way to get answers immediately. The aggressive method is what you just used now and you saw an ocean of responses immediately. Sometimes you can even mention names. |
currentprice:Praying to be like him one day when I will have enough volume to sell at a margin of 1 Kobo and make 500 million in just one trade. |
Agbalowomeri:Kk. |
RabbiDoracle:How can it be active when the cash required to make it so is under your pillow? You can't eat your cake and have it, or how do they say it? |
valacious:Joseph of NSEMPA. |
valacious:Where's the result? |
Agbalowomeri:More of MM glitch. |
Chai!!!! |
With the technical suspension slammed on UNIC, I feel for those who have been trapped in the stock since 2008 and wanted to start collecting their school fees back as from today. |
Yayira:This one don vex o! |
ofai:There is nothing in the link suggestive of Jonathan claiming Igboness. |
ofai:I added a second link because I knew you would discredit Wikipedia, but unfortunately you ignored that second link totally in pursuit of your preconceived notion of truth. And how exactly is Wikipedia 100℅ unreliable? You exactly of the one guilty of incoherent association or attaché by force because when I mentioned GEJ, you came and accused me of trying to downplay Igbos prompting me to ask you whether GEJ is Igbo. Affiliation (which you claim Ogbia has with Igbo) does not mean the same thing as historical origin and language spoken which reflect Edo. If GEJ is not complaining, then why bring up the issue of his being Igbo in the first instance, albeit falsely? The certificate you claim to have bagged from a higher institution obviously needs to be re-examined. |
ofai:As for the meaning of Edoid and how it relates to GEJ; you can cure your ignorance here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engenni_people https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/weekly/index.php/notes-from-atlanta/13466-what-s-really-president-goodluck-jonathan-s-ethnic-group If you wish, you may search for Jonathan's declaration made the day he arrived Oba Erediawa's Palace for campaign in 2011. It is no longer surprising that you don't know the difference between digression and tangential topics. Ignorance is really bliss! |
ofai:You are not really okay. So Jonathan is an Igbo man? Your ignorance is very obvious. In fact Jonathan's real tribe is Edoid if you don't know. Google is your friend. |
MonPro:As per the bolded; Festus Odimegwu himself would, after resigning, publish a very detailed article carpeting GEJ for really sacking him in his (GEJ's) incurable quest to endear himself to the Hausa-Fulanis ahead of his second term ambition. That alone angered Odimegwu into throwing his weight behind Buhari. Southerners have always been their own problems. And it remains so sickening to remember that Jonathan who so much acted against common sense and proprietary in seeking Hausa-Fulani endearment towards 2015 won 2011 without their votes. |
AreaFada2:Judging from the bolded, Enahoro was obviously speaking from a generalization perspective. Of course you would not expect him to speak specifically of his own individual efforts under such a tone. It may interest you further to know that the same Enahoro, in the build up to independence, proposed for the future Nigeria a 45 state structure in which the tribes most compatible with one another fall into the same state in order to avoid clashes of culture within each state. But those dreaming about a false One Nigeria denounced him as nursing a divisive agenda and he had to back down therefore. So for him as an individual he planned but the myopic majority would not let him. Even Awolowo's famous "Geographical expression" classification declaration was, in its full text, a practical foresighted proposal for a just and equitable future Nigeria. Herbert Macaulay too worked towards the gaining of independence between 1985 and 1990 because he understood that Nigerians were not yet civilized enough to govern themselves democratically. |
LaudableXX:Even the bolded is not conclusive because where I currently reside in Lagos, there is this Asaba neighbour of mine who claims his father was an unrepentant AG and UPN member in the respective dispensations. He himself praises Awolowo at every opportunity. Perhaps he is just an exception to the generality. However, from my own open minded research the Midwesterners I can say truly have anti-Awolowo misgivings with genuine reasons are the Urhobos and Ijaws native to Warri due to the former's role in the Warri traditional stool saga. |
LZAA:For the bolded; then who were the Igbo members of the Western Regional Assembly working for when they resisted every move by the mainstream AG faction to impeach Akintola for gravitating towards the Zik-Balewa governing coalition at the centre? Why couldn't Zik call to order the Igbo members of the Western Assembly if he was truly not the hand of Esau behind the scene? Well, as for the treasonable felony conviction slammed on Awolowo, his civilian coup which led to it was actually a self help measure against the coup which Zik and Balewa earlier carried out against him by way of bypassing the Western Region's Constitution to reinstate Akintola without election. As long as coup remains defined as any illegal means of taking over power, then Zik and Balewa were first to be guilty treasonable felony and both would have been impeached and jailed if Nigeria were a civilized clime. The break away of the Midwest from the West was not much about the beef we had with Yorubas as the movement for its creation was founded far before independence by Oba Akenzua who was at pains to have the Benin Empire territories under the control of others whom they were more powerful than prior to colonization. If it was really majorly about the beef, then how come Midwesterners would in the second republic vote overwhelmingly for UPN - a party headed and controlled by the same Awolowo? |
LZAA:Yes, my researches over time has shown me that there is too much of lies flying around as to history narratives in Nigeria. We Nigerians love lies, and that is one of the major reasons we remain a very huge shithole. Only Akintola and his fellow Yorubaist supporters actually hated Igbos, and they were an insignificant minority. Akintola's infamous "Yoruba E Ronu" message in the thick of the Western Region crisis bears it out. Is there any existing record of hate speech made by Awolowo before the imminence of the civil war when everyone just had to start answering his father's name to survive? In fact Akintola made it crystal clear that his anti-Awolowo stance was inspired by Awolowo's indifference to the gradual Igbo infiltration of the Western Region civil service on top of the the fact that Igbos also took Yorubas' "rightful" position at the center due to Awolowo's refusal to align with the North at independence. As per the bolded, must it take being Yoruba to take the position I take on Akintola vs Awo? I have just also taken the stand that Zik did not really displace Eyo Ita as carried by default propaganda. Does that make me an Igbo hiding under a non-Igbo Identity? I am just a firm believer in facts as against propaganda. |

The old Midwest was made up of different ethnic groups like the Itsekiri, Bini, Afemai,Urhobo, Isoko, Aboh, Agbor and other Igbo-speaking ethnic groups. While they were under the old Western region where Awolowo was Premier, they had access to the same free education that the core Southwesterners had. Their roads were built alongside those in the old Western region, and they also had access to the same healthcare facilities. The only area where they felt a bit of deprivation, was in political representation.
So they agitated for their own region. Why would they hate Awolowo during the period they were under the old Western region, when he ensured that development was equally spread across board, and it got to their own areas as well?
