PoliticsRe: 5 Reasons Why Kanu's Biafra Is A Fraud. by deantimes(m): 10:28pm On Jul 27, 2021
[quote author=udele1 post=104162386]I asked an IPOB biafran supporter a question in Abuja, and he innocently indicted his leader.

You are yet to tell us how he indicated his leader.

The agitation was silent under a Biafran president Goodluck jonathan. If you did not demand for Biafra under a Biafran, how do you convince the north that your agitation is not politically motivated?

You are either a young lad when Jonathan was on seat or you just want to distort fact. MNK has also insulted GEJ when the ex-president was on seat. He simply ignored Kanu but the lifeless buffoon went to block radio Biafra when he took over and the fugitive became a figure immediately the gworo chewing dullard arrested in at Mohammed airport in Lagos.

I don't like truth bent to suit one's emotions, say it the way it is, you won't die.

Kanu claimed buhari offered him Biafra with 5 igbo states and he refused. He insisted that Niger delta is part of Biafra.

Today they insult edwin clack and wike for saying they are not part of Biafra. You are forcing them into biafra, and telling them they will be free to leave when Biafra comes. People who you bring into a union forcefully, will freely leave?

Isn't that fighting for another Biafra within Biafra?

In the present-day South-South, there are Igbo speaking areas annexed to the region including those added to Benue and Kogi. Only a stupid fellow will think Kanu will leave his kinsmen behind while leaving Nigeria.

Tell those people dissociating from Biafra to ask the FG to remove those indigenous Igbo speaking tribe from their states else they will continue to be dragged along.

Biafran Agitation is a business. A registered business cant be fighting for the liberation of a people as an organisation. This reflects the picture and the scenario i described above. How Biafran struggle was to kanu what NYSC would be to a hopeless corper receiving 150,000 salary monthly.

Doesn't make sense. Change tactics you're only pained, don't cry more than the bereaved.

ESN is setup to protect Igbo's from fulani. Everyone knows that since the setup of ESN only Igbo's have been dying.

Really? When he was posting violent herdsmen leaving the SE where were you? It seems you are a kid. End of discussion. Come back when you grow up.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu: Malami Bars IPOB Members From Attending July 26 Court Sitting by deantimes(op): 11:15am On Jul 22, 2021
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami has barred members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB) from attending the next trial of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

TODAY POLITICS gathered that members of the seccessionist group demanding the actualization of the defunct Biafra Republic began making their way to Abuja on Wednesday in order to attend the court sitting.

Mr Kanu who was recently extradited back to Nigeria from Kenya will appear in court on July 26 to face his ongoing trial on charges of treasonable felony.

He fled the country in 2017 after personnel of the Nigerian Army raided his Afaraukwu home in Abia State and killed dozens in the process.

According to Scan News, the office of Malami who doubles as the Justice Minister has amended the charges of Mr Kanu to include killing of force personnel and Fulani cattle rearers whom he described as being innocent.

Herders from the Fulani extraction in the southern part of the country have been fingered severally as arrowheads of insecurity. Armed with AK-47 rifles, they raid, rape, massacre and destroy the properties of host communities.

This menace of violent herdsmen forced state and non-state actors to issue eviction notices to the problematic pastoralists with the most recent coming from a traditional ruler in Taraba State.

In his new directive, the AGF said only key government officials and lawyers to the IPOB leader and the federal government will be permitted to attend the court sitting.

PoliticsLike Igboho, Taraba Emir Issues 30-day Quit Notice To Fulani Herdsmen by deantimes(op): 3:40pm On Jul 21, 2021
Emir of Muri Empire, Abbas Tafida, on Tuesday issued a 30-day quit notice to violent herdsmen to vacate the state.

Mr Tafida who accused the problematic pastoralists of kidnapping locals for ransom said should they fail to comply with his directive the herders will be forced out of the state.

His eviction order is akin to the one issued by popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, to violent herdsmen residing in forests reserves across the South-West region.

“Our Fulani herdsmen in the forests, you came into this state and we accepted you, why then will you be coming to towns and villages to kidnap residents, even up to the extent of raping our women?” the traditional ruler queried.

“Because of this unending menace, every Fulani herdsman in this state have been given 30 days ultimatum to vacate the forests.

“We are tired of having sleepless nights and the hunger alone in the land is enormous and we will not allow it to continue,” he added.

The ultimatum comes months after the state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) blamed Governor Darius Ishaku-led state government for the spike in insecurity in the state, saying herders were not carried along in the scheme of things.

The statement by its chairman, Sahabi Mahmood Tukur, said “we have never for once gotten any support from the governor since the inception of his administration.”

I don't like Reno quite alright but the part in bold is perfectly true. Examples abound everywhere on Nairaland. Anybody with an opinion that doesn't go down well with Igbos is immediately tagged Afonja. So many South south people have tried to voice out their opinion on Biafra and other topical issues but they get labelled Afonja. That Nnamdi Kanu even planned to conscript people as far as Benue state into his Biafra without consulting them says a lot about his person.

Truth be told, Biafra as being envisaged by Kanu will just be a smaller version of Nigeria. It will descend into a civil war like south Sudan in less than two years with folks like Kanu in charge. Personally, I wont want to be a minority in such a country.
So you never knew there are indigenous Igbos in Benue? So he should seek their consent because the Nigerian government merged them to form Benue State?

PoliticsHow I Was Arrested, Detained For 8 Days Before Extradited To Nigeria – Kanu by deantimes(op): 9:22pm On Jul 02, 2021
Detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has narrated how he was arrested and extradited back to the country.

Mr Kanu, according to Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), was brought back to Nigeria on Sunday and was re-arraigned on Tuesday in continuation of his trials on charges of treasonable felony.

Speculations began as to which country helped in extraditing the IPOB leader who is also a British citizen. His younger brother, Emmanuel, said he was arrested in Kenya, a claim now confirmed by the secessionist leader when he met with his lawyers on Friday, despite the denial of the Kenyan government feigning ignorance of his arrest and extradition.

He is represented by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel of the defendant who was allowed to meet his clients held at the headquarters of the State Security Service (SSS).

In a statement on what transpired during the meeting, Mr Ejiofor said his client was detained in Kenya for eight days and handed over to the Nigerian authorities who then flew him back to the country to face his ongoing trial.

Below is a statement from the lawyer after the meeting.

Update on meeting with MNK today, 2nd July 2021:

My Client – Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was actually abducted by the accursed Kenya’s Special Police Force on the 18th of June 2021 at their International Airport, and consequently taken to an undisclosed residence under dehumanizing conditions.

He was tortured and subjected to all forms of inhuman treatment which worsened his health condition. *He was illegally detained for eight (cool good DAYS in Kenya* before being transfered to their Nigerian counterpart.

He was purportedly investigated on a bogus charge while in their custody, ostensibly, awaiting to be handed over after their findings proved him innocent of all the spurious allegations. They later beckoned on their Nigerian Counterpart to take over.

Kenyan Government was deeply involved in the abduction, detention and ill-treatment of my Client before the illegal handover to their Nigerian counterpart.

A scan of his heart showed that the heart has enlarged by 13% due to the dehumanizing treatment meted to him. There will be need for immediate proper medical examination and attention for him.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu conveyed his goodwill message to all IPOB family members worldwide, and craved for your unrelentless prayers.

We are going back to the Court for the needful. Other details cannot be entertained here.

His fortified legal team will address these infractions at the proper forum as we progress. Other details on our legal strategy, may not be made public.

With Chukwuokike Abiama on our side, Victory is assured. For if God Almighty be for us, who can be against us?

PoliticsFG Not Against Bandits Because They Are Doing Business - El-rufai by deantimes(op): 12:51pm On Jul 02, 2021
Banditry is a business in the Northern part of the country, Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State has said.

Mr El-rufai said this is why the federal government has not moved against the criminals who have resorted to abducting school children for ransom.

He said the government has not swiftly moved against bandits because they are not demanding secession like Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) is doing.

Mr Kanu, who fled the country after the military raided his home in Abia State in 2017, was arrested and extradited back to the country from Kenya, according to his younger brother, Emmanuel.

Speaking on the development, the Kaduna helmsman said he was happy when interviewed on Friday by BBC pidgin.

“I was very happy (when Nnamdi Kanu was arrested) because, first he jumped bail, jeopardising his sureties,” Mr El-rufai said. “Secondly, a person that challenges the sovereignty and the authority of a state and incites violence; he refers to his own country as a zoo.

“This should be a message to all these separatists challenging the authority of the Nigerian State to be very careful,” he said.

He faulted people criticising the government for not going after Boko Haram terrorists and bandits the way it has responded to secessionists in the Southern part of the nation.

“No! No! No! No! People are comparing apples to oranges,” the governor said. “Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of IPOB, a proscribed organisation. He is identifiable, in constant communication and everyone knows where he is.

“Let’s take Boko Haram for instance. Shekau was in hiding and for the past 10 years and the military had been waging a war to get him.

“It is not like Shekau was in Saudi Arabia, sitting in one place, tweeting about the break up of Nigeria or asking Boko Haram to go and kill Helen and Nasir el-Rufai.

“Nnamdi Kanu is in one place while Shekau is waging guerrilla warfare. The insurgency is still going on and the Federal Government is not giving up.

“Regarding bandits, they are not centralised under one leadership. Who is the head of the bandits? Who is the equivanlent of Nmandi Kanu with banditry?

“Bandits are just collections of independent criminals. It is a business for them. It is not a case of Nigeria must break up.

“I want to challenge anyone to tell me the central leader of bandits in the same position as Kanu,” he dared.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Was Arrested In Kenya - Brother, Emmanuel Kanu by deantimes(op): 3:49pm On Jun 30, 2021
Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) was arrested in Kenya, his brother, Emmanuel Kanu, said on Wednesday.

In a statement, Mr Kanu called for the immediate release of the secessionist, saying he committed no crime by clamouring for self-determination recognized United Nations laws.

What Mr Kanu who holds both Nigerian and British passports went to do in Eastern African country is yet unknown as at press time.

Many versions of where he was picked up have continued to crop up on social media with so many countries named.

“My brother Nnamdi Kanu demands the right to self-determination for Biafra. Self-determination is the right that underpins the United Nations,” Mr Emmanuel said.

“Because Biafrans support Nnamdi Kanu’s call for Biafran self-determination, my brother has now been subjected to the most serious violations of international law.

“Whilst visiting Kenya, Nnamdi Kanu was detained and handed over to the Nigerian authorities who then flew him to Nigeria.

“My brother has been subjected to extraordinary rendition by Kenya and Nigeria. They have violated the most basic principles of the rule of law. Extraordinary rendition is one of the most serious crimes states can commit. Both Nigeria and Kenya must be held to account. I demand justice for my brother, Nnamdi Kanu.

“Nnamdi Kanu holds both British and Nigerian citizenship. Nnamdi Kanu is Biafran, not Nigerian. He has rejected his Nigerian citizenship.

“The British High Commission in Nigeria must insist upon my brother’s immediate release. They must guarantee his safety and security. Nnamdi Kanu must be returned home to the UK to his wife and his sons who live here. The Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, must make clear to the Nigerian authorities that they will not tolerate the unlawful detention of British citizens and that the UK Government condemns the Nigerians and Kenyans for undermining the rule of law. Foreign Secretary Raab must be clear.

“There will be consequences for those who resort to extraordinary rendition. The British Government must insist upon justice for Nnamdi Kanu,” he added.

Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, appears to be supporting the unending medical tourism of President Muhammadu Buhari abroad.

“If there are two groups of protesters; One for the President to just go to London and the other for the President to leave London,I will join the former,” the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) chieftain tweeted on Sunday.

Mr Buhari was scheduled to visit the United Kingdom on a medical follow-up on Friday, his spokesman, Femi Adesina, had said in a Thursday statement which said the president will return the second week of July.

But hours after the announcement, the trip was aborted with no undisclosed reason, to be rescheduled on a later date.

Before the suspension, a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri had threatened to demonstrate, like he earlier did, against the Nigerian leader should he fail to return when announced.

This is according to Voice Of American Hausa service which announced the invitation Friday afternoon.

Mr Gumi on Wednesday justified banditry going on in parts of the North, saying the activities of the violent herdsmen are better than that of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) whom he accused of killing security agencies.

The cleric demanding amnesty for the bandits implicated security agencies as colluding with the criminals to perpetuate the heinous acts, a claim rejected by the Nigerian Army who denied its personnel were part of such misconduct.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan says the roof leakage at the National Assembly on Tuesday is an indication that the lawmaking complex is due for rehabilitation.

Mr Lawan during plenary on Wednesday stated this while reacting to a motion raised by Sabi Abdullahi, senate deputy majority whip, concerning the roof leakage which left many Nigerians astonished after the huge sums of money the Buhari regime approved for the repairs of the edifice in 2019.

PoliticsEmploy Bandits To Secure Schools, Gumi Tells FG by deantimes(op): 5:38pm On Jun 21, 2021
Popular Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi has called on the federal government to employ bandits to secure educational facilities in the country.

Mr Gumi, who has been demanding amnesty for the violent herdsmen whose animals were rustled, made the call in an interview with Punch Newspapers.

He said until banditry is brought to an end, no school in the country is secure. While noting that armed bandits in the North West are upto to 100, 000 in numbers, he advised the government against bombarding the bandits as it will further worsen the situation.

“To secure schools, why not engage the bandits. Engage them; they are not many,” the cleric suggested. “You can count them with your fingers. How can you guard schools? It is not possible.

“In the whole North-West, they may not be more than 100,000 bandits. And that is just a drop in the ocean. That is talking about those with weapons; because not all of them have weapons.

“Ninety per cent of those who have weapons use them to protect themselves against cattle rustlers. They are victims too. Aerial bombardments will only worsen the situation because when you start killing their children, you remember they also have our children,” he added.

Schools in the North have become targets of the bandits who demand hundreds of million of naira when they abduct students and pupils.

PoliticsN100M Bounty On Nnamdi Kanu Unfair, Ohanaeze Replies Northern Group by deantimes(op): 8:11am On Jun 19, 2021
The N100million bounty placed on Nnamdi Kanu by a coalition of Northern groups has been described as unfair by Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The coalition of 75 northern groups under the aegis of Northern Consensus Movement (NCM) on Thursday, placed the bounty for anybody who could provide information on the whereabouts of the secessionist and aid his capture by law enforcement agencies.

The spokesperson for NCM, Dr Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, during the press briefing, urged the United States, United Kingdom and European Union to facilitate Kanu’s repatriation to Nigeria to face treasonable charges against him.

But reacting in an interview with the PUNCH, the Publicity Secretary of Igbo socio-cultural group, Alex Ogbonnaya, described the action as unfair if the group could not replicate same bounty on leaders of Boko Haram terrorists, violent herdsmen and bandits accused of aiding insecurity nationwide.

Mr Ogbonnaya who said his group does not see the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) as terrorist group said the bounty will not stop the issue of agitations for the restoration of the defunct Biafra Republic while accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of marginalizing the South-East region.

“I congratulate the Northern Coalition Movement for thinking about Nigeria, but if they want to be fair, they should place N100m bounty on the heads of leaders of Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, ISWAP, and other non-state actors, who are known to be terrorists,” the Igbo group said. “As you know, Ohanaeze does not agree that the Indigenous People of Biafra is a terrorist group.

“Nnamdi Kanu is not the issue here. There is a major issue of selective justice when you focus on one and leave another.

“Igbos all over have been complaining of injustice. No matter the millions of dollars placed on Nnamdi Kanu, it cannot stop agitation from the South-East.

“What the region needs are justice and peaceful dialogue with the Federal Government. If this is done, all these issues of agitations and secession coming from the region will cease.

“Our advice to the NCM is to direct their agitations to the appropriate authorities,” the group added.

Similarly, a former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani faulted the move, asking the Northern group to place a price tag on leaders of worsening insecurity in their domains first.

“We have Terrorists and Bandits here up north, killing and kidnapping our people; why not the Northern groups place a price tag on the heads of their leaders instead of placing on someone far abroad,” he said on Facebook on Friday.

PoliticsIgboho Issues Fresh Eviction Notice To Herdsmen, To Comb South-west Forests From by deantimes(op): 3:30pm On Jun 17, 2021
Popular Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has issued a fresh eviction notice to violent herdsmen residing in forests reserves in the South-West geo-political zone.

The new order made on Wednesday comes five months after he issued a similar directive in January, an ultimatum which elicited mixed reactions nationwide.

Mr Igboho who issued the new eviction order through his spokesman, Oluyomi Koiki, vowed to implement his threat beginning from Monday, June 21, 2021.

“We want all Fulani on Yoruba land to leave. I, myself will monitor compliance to the eviction notice,” Mr Igboho vowed. “I don’t issue an order without ensuring compliance. As from Monday, we don’t want to hear of any kidnapping in Yorubaland again. I will show them the stuff Yoruba people are made of.

“Tell President Buhari, if he doesn’t understand Yoruba, tell him in English Language that we don’t want bandits in our zone again. Work has begun already and as from Monday, I will begin combing all forests in Yoruba land.

“How can six million people be commanding about 250 million other Nigerians? Marriage is not by force. We can’t live with you again.

“Yoruba nation is a vehicle of salvation and I want all Yoruba to board the vehicle and have their seats.

“There is no going back on the agitation for the Yoruba nation. How can we go back when we are almost at our destination? Those who have not joined us should do so now because there’s no election coming in 2023. Yoruba will go,” the activist added.

Last month, 17 state governors from Southern Nigeria banned open grazing to secure lives and properties and prevent age-long clashes between farmers and herders who now bear AK-47 rifles.

The action of the governors irked Nigerians from the Northern regions including the officials of federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Crowwe app which he has been promoting as an alternative to Twitter, banned in the country, was found to have plagiarized the privacy policy of another app, Spotify.
