Business › Re: Ghanaians Fear Nigerian Domination Of Economy –minister by deb(m): 1:27pm On May 22, 2009
Our criminal elements are made the focus, because people are not interested in the other less negative facts about Nigerians or are too lazy to find out. They never present the balance, the picture is distorted.

It is quite hypocritical of people too, just look at the American music/entertainment industry. People always show off, and glamourise their riches. many of their artists make a career out of rapping about their drug pushing and gang behaviour. they even glorify killing and their criminal past or present.

Even though they do that, it is never held against them as a nationality.

Business › Re: Ghanaians Fear Nigerian Domination Of Economy –minister by deb(m): 1:14pm On May 22, 2009
Jealous Ghanaian. Be productive and you wouldn't have to be worried about Nigerians in your country.
If you are productive enough, there will be no need for jealousy on your path. We have various foreigners living in Nigeria and
we are not threatened by them. So, what is your problem Ghanaians? Wake up to your responsibilities and stop looking
for whom to blame for your woes. We are doing you a lot of good by investing in your country. If all our companies pull out of your
country abruptly you will suffer.

Ten lane road that will be completed in four years and many more capital intensive projects embarked upon by Fashola has nothing in stock for the dying common man in the state, he is a capitalist who doesnt have programmes for the masses, can someone please tell him to come down and do something fo the teeming hungry masses? These monies he is spending can go a long way to do good for the poor in the state.
I could give you PHD for criticism you know?

If the guy does not utilize our money properly, you will call him thief, now he is spending money on the state and we can all see the result
yet you are complaining. Maybe you want him to go on the street to start distributing money. How else will the
Masses get busy if the government is not introducing and executing projects? check your brain man! needs some fixing

Politics › Re: War In Niger Delta: Mend Threatens Northerners In Oil Industry by deb(m): 2:15pm On May 19, 2009
A few sensible posts I could gather.

@Romeo
The only problem i have with all the people in the South-South
is that they are all too ethnocentric with their agitations,
Mosop for the Ogoni people, Mend for the Ijaws and many more
for different etnicities. How are they going to come together?
If they had unity they would not be fighting the Nigerian state
by now

@oludashmi

Which resource are you controlling? You are only being fooled!!
Everyone of them is fighting for their pocket while deceiving
you guyz that they are fighting for your rights.

Let me ask this questions, ever since they have been fighting/kidnapping
and doing all sort of to get money from the government and
individuals in the name of birth right, what have they done
with the money? Have they been able to develop a single street in the smallest community?

No!! Instead, they have succeeded in reaping you all of what
you should share and enjoy by keeping it to themselves.
This terrorism attitude has now been seen as a better means
of livelihood. They keep millions in their bank account and
deceive you that they are fighting for you. You can imagine
one of them after being caught (read in a newspaper)
who said he has saved about N50 million withing few months.
And you been FOOLS have not been able to question them about
the little they have gathered thru all the atrocities they
have been committing.

You can imagine a university finalist who is planning to go to
the Niger Delta to become a militant immediately after
graduation simply cos he knows he could gather millions for
himself not for the benefit of his people, within a short
period. You guyz should talk to yourselves and stop wasting
your lives.

@oludashmi

Where is Ansari Dokubo today? You can't hear his voice, he has
saved too much for himself and now that he has an oil
company-Ansari Oil, he doesn't care what becomes of his people.
But years back, he was bragging up and down as if fighting
for Niger Deltas.

The poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer.
Wake up and stop saying you want get any resource control or
think that they are fighting for you.
=======================================

@Litmus

MEND aren’t interested in empowering the people of Delta, they
are only interested in enriching themselves. Most of the people
in that organisation are probably former armed rubbers who,
in the typical Nigerian fashion have figured a way to go
upmarket. Why risk being shot dead by police, army or
vigilanty (or even uncle) for stealing petty cash at the point
of a gun when you can steal millions by exploiting the people’s
real or perceived grievances. Think about it, if you were an
armed rubber today in Nigerian Cameroon or Benin Republic,
wouldn’t you make a beeline for the delta where there are rich
pickings to be had from bunkering or from kidnapping and
demanding ransom money? I’m sure even if the leadership of
MEND were politically motivated, which I doubt, they would not
turn away people who pop out of nowhere in the bush and ask to
join their struggle. The Delta is such a quagmire of swamp,
creeks and jungle, if you armed yourself and hid in the bush
there, the Nigerian army or even a more sophisticated western
one would be hard-pressed to get you.

The same dark foreign forces that were behind the war in
Sierra Leone (probably behind those in Liberia and Congo as
well) are very willing to sell Africans military equipment for
profit. Moreover, when the resultant war leads to anarchy,
they make further profits by exploiting resources, which have
become more freely available and cheap because nobody is
keeping an eye on things.

@ naijaking1

@Poster
What has kidnapping of a River state's official got to do with warning northerners to stay away from the delta regionhuh
I was thinking MEND had kidnapped the Emir of Kano, or some top official from the north, now that would have been news.

MEND is not going to succeed, because of false intellectual philosophies provided by the like of Ibime, Adaka Boro, etc.
Greed, laziness, and petty jealousy have never been known to form the philosophical cornerstone of any people's liberation idealogy.

==================================

Given the history of wars in Africa, what lead to them and how they are eventually resolved, I am baffled that anyone in their right minds can support the actions of MEND.

Frankly, I seek refuge in the thought that many of the people who write about Nigeria on so-called Nigerians boards are not actually Nigerians. Nigerians just aren’t so stupid.
This is war. MEND will use a lot of propaganda to cover their weaknesses so I don't take what they say that seriously

They are supposed to help upcoming enterpreneurs at least partner with them for good comission
instead they will decline your idea, and the next thing you see in the dailies the following week is your idea

Business › Paper Versus Mobile Technology Processes by deb(op): 5:24pm On May 14, 2009
There are millions of people who work outside a typical office, in many cases they use inefficient or costly tools and time consuming
processes to collect data and complete their tasks. Mobile technology advances are converging to improve this situation with the
integration of wireless connectivity found in cell phones, PDAs and computer applications, technology is providing a selection of new,
small mobile devices that have shown promise to enhance the effectiveness of a mobile workforce.

Paper is an inherently slow and inaccurate tool for collecting data. Paper processes are often coupled with key data being transmitted
through verbal conversations that are also highly error-prone and harder to track.

Many enterprises that have converted a paper-based process to an electronic form-based application on a mobile device have seen data collection times reduced in the field, more accurate data flowing to central enterprise servers and faster business reporting not to rule out
cost effectiveness

Politics › Re: Lagos Govt Sued Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo Title by deb(m): 4:05pm On May 14, 2009
i am an igboman.the ban was long over due and it did not violate the right of any igboman in lagos.how can somebody who has no royalty in his blood migrate to lagos and assume the title of eze?by the way ,who elected and coronated them? i am a regular attendant to my lagos town union meeting and we have never talked of electing any kangaroo eze ndigbo.if those fighting over it are sensible enough,they would have changed the title to ONYE NDU NDIGBO NA LAGOS.If not the jewun jewun that they get from governments they wont be fighting.Tell them to go and enlist in an Igbo army that wants to fight the talibans,they will all disappear.so,they are only fighting for their pockets.shameles animals who do nothing but bring disgrace to the Igboman.Na God go punish them.Eze Ndigbo na ass.(ikem)
I wish i had the opportunity of personally thanking the Governor for taking such a courageous decision.
I am an Igbo man born & bred but i feel disgusted any time i see these jokers masquerading as Eze this or that. For those of you not too knowledgeable in our way of live, Igbo's from inception didnt have any central ruler, prompting the English colonial masters to enthrone one for us (which was forcefully rejected back then because it was alien to our way of life). However as Chinua Achebe (Igbo Legend) wrote in his book "The Trouble with Nigeria", he couldnt understand why a tribe without any know ruler not too long ago now had all sorts "Mushroom Ezes and Igwe" all over the country and the world. They cant name one useful thing they have done both in their phantom kingdom or back home for that matter. In Rivers State for example they were always paying the then Governor courtesy calls and leaving with Ghana Must Go, which they keep to themselves. Little wonder they were able to pull down mile one market, kick them out of theirs make shift stores, pretend they were going to rebuild the market in 5months, this is 3 year running and still no market, all with no resistance. This is just one example, i dare not write more coz i am already getting worked up.
It is only in Igbo land that you have Ezes' and Igwes' who when they go back to their homeland become normal citizens (Two Captain(s) cant be on one ship). I am calling on all Sons and Daughters of Igbo Land to join hands and get rid of these JOKERS, so that when we speak we can be taken seriously via Presidential Elections come 2011 or 2014 whenever it is the turn of the south again.

PS: It is also on record that the world Igbo Day is held in Chicago (Chaired by the Igwe of Chicago) and not our home land, i wonder the sensibility in this foolishness. (Chinua Achebe)
The Igbos are talking, non-Igbos like me should keep quiet grin
Its their life let them say, cheesy wink
Music/Radio › Re: Who Is The Best Music Producer In Nigeria Now? by deb(m): 12:52pm On May 14, 2009
Cobhams without doubt is the best producer ever from Naija.
Anything he touches turn to gold and he produces all kinds of music; Rock, Hip hop, Dance hall,  just name it.

Don jazzy is good but he is more of a hip hop producer, he is not as versatile as Cobhams. And I won't even place
him behind Cobhams because there are other better producers ahead of him. Your preference depends on the kind
of music you like and your level of musicianship.
