hi nairaland fellows. Last season, their was a rumour concerning Arsenal bidding for Obagooooal but he regected the transfer. I believe it servers him right. UP Chelsea
If Arsenal bidded for him, what does that tell you? means he is a great player.
Don't understand you guys. Not to rule out the fact that it was stupid of him not to take the offer.

That is what will happen if Lagos have a state police.
Maybe we can still have one but its definitely not now.
Sports › Re: Newcastle Dumps Obafemi ! by deb(m): 12:04pm On Jun 09, 2009
Who will buy 5 goal a season striker?
What are you talking about? He still emerged the joint top scorer
for the club with all the injuries he had all through the season.
Some other time he played with injury. Oba is a great player to have in a team anytime anyday.
And he definitely scored more than five. I think he scored 8goals (not too sure) over all to emerge top joint scorer with
Michael Owen for the club.
Sports › Re: SA 2010 WCQ: Nigeria(3) Vs Kenya(0) On Sunday 7th June by deb(m): 5:04pm On Jun 08, 2009
The Eagles simply did what they used to do when they want to break our hearts.
They refused to contest every ball just because it is Kenya they were playing.

Everytime we contest every ball on the field of play, no matter what team we played
we always often come out top. Even if we don't win you will still be impressed.

Once again, the SE has demonstrated their lukwarm approach to smaller teams and they
are receiving all the bashing again.
And that coach, we need to change fast before things get worst.

Amodu is a fool!
I wonder what a player like Olofinjana is doin in the SE
He's been on the bench for stoke city all season.
There are couple of home based player he can use for that match but he does'nt want them
I agree

Aluko had a great game,
I wonder why he did'nt use Etuhu
Again I agree.
Aluko did well and Etuhu would have done great too
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Ireland [1-1]: May 29 2009 by deb(m): 12:58pm On Jun 01, 2009
In fairness, this was not a bad game, and perhaps the best performance from SE in recent time. Or did anybody think we will whip Ireland NT 10-0 or have 100% possession? This was a team that had Robbie Keane, Damien Duff, Shay Given and a host of other well-known names in world football, a team that has qualifiers next week, and so needed to take this Grade A friendly seriously, a team coached by a world class coach. We paraded our B team(even though our A team would not have done better) and Ireland paraded their best legs, and it was a 50-50 game. I'm an avid critic of Eagles, but I don't think that was a poor outing.

Kalu Uche was our best on the field, tried the play making role and did well.

Kudos to the guys.
Big sigh of relieve! Thank God somebody saw things my own way.
I am not a fan of Amodu and I want him sacked now if possible, but i can't condemn those
boys. I was particularly excited to see new players in the SE. Sone Aluko did not have a bad game in my
book as a first timer in the Eagles.

I think the problem with us is that we over rate ourselves too much. Lets encourage the new Eagles' players and look beyond
2010 world cup. We may not qualify for that competition. The most important thing is what we do after the world cup. i don't
see any point going to world cup just to go and mark the register. If we must go we should go to win with a quality team that
is built over a long period of time and also with a world class coach. Not Amodu that has nothing to offer.

Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Ireland [1-1]: May 29 2009 by deb(m): 12:18pm On May 28, 2009
As a patriotic Nigerian, I will say that Eagles will win.
However, to be sincere with myself I am not expecting so much from them Eagles.

The team is not world class (consider the clubs they play for), and we have the worst
coach in history. Dull coach, dull moral, dull energy, dull technical intellect everything dull.
Football is beyond what is played on the pitch. A coach that is afraid to talk about victory affirmatively
is not worth it. If you can't motivate useless set of human being to do something great, it means you are
a poor leader. And that is what Amodu is. A poor leader and a poor coach.

I remember Onigbinde in his time as the eagles coach, widely criticized by Nigerians, but in my book he was
better than Amodu. He took over a team in 3months, took them to world cup and got what I will call a fair result for 3months old team
(0-1, 2-1 defeat and 0-0 draw). Despite the result, I saw energy in the players and I saw fluidity in the field of play.
How I wish our fire brigage NFF had allowed him to stay a little longer. Now see what we have, a slowpoke sorry to say, as a National coach

Romance › Re: Men Doesn't Casual Dating Get Boring? by deb(m): 3:44pm On May 26, 2009
men are naturally not built by emotions. Our sight control alot of our responses to things.
If we continue to see beautiful girls, we could just be happy having a taste of them without
feeling emotional emptiness until we are ready to settle down. Its just nature, not primarily
caused by past hurts
