InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by debenzd(f): 2:34pm On Feb 28, 2008
For me, just use a strategy that is best suited for your personality. People follow strategies without considering their personality. If you are the type that will be disturbed with a 105 drop in your NAV don't go for CICO.

If you are the type that cannot do without checking prices every day then don't go for LONG TERM. You cannot survive watching your stocks remain dormant (no movement) for like a month!!!
Thanks Wanajo. Very correct statements.

BTW:

Anybody who needs to get in touch with Oceanic registrars you can ring them on 01-815 2470 or 01-813 8623. Try the second number first. The bloke i spoke with was quite helpful and he actually gave me his mob number but don't think its a good idea to post here.
thanks for the phone numbers

@Nairalanders, for those who have issues with CICO, try to read Fatherof2's past threads.

He has a lot of info there.

He never buys when the stocks are expensive, he always circles out to cheaper stocks or waits till the price has dropped to levels lower than what he originally bought, when he positions for 9mths, he stays there till the end of year is over. There is no sentiment about any stock.In between he takes out only the profit to invest in other stocks. The reason being that there may still be profit to be made from such stocks.

In addition, the time frame is usually 0-3mths and anything in between. He is always willing to wait it out till he has reached his target. Oga Wanajo has mentioned this in one or two posts.

Maybe we are not doing it right or we need to learn some more. I have used some of his methods on some stocks and it has  paid off. WindyWendy is also right when she talks about picking the right stocks. I also use Aktopgun's TA and reading up more articles. I am not one to discount any method as long as in d end the dosh enters my pocket.

Ultimately though you need a superman broker who can get in and out for you when u so desire.

Each on to his own though. Different strokes for different folks.

Happy investing

This na my 2 cents.

I think NASCON is further ripe for the picking. One just has to be patient. Some of these stocks rise and fall and create new support and resistance levels.  See how Unilever don gradually rise and fall from 19 to over 24 Naira. It did this over a period and not in 1 week or 2.

Some of us bought NASCON at 16 naira. Thanks to Fof2. Hopefully it won't get back to that level.

We are expecting 9mths and end of yr reports for NASCON

The 6mths result was very good.

But alas the choice is yours. CAVEAT EMPTY WELL WELL NO BE SMALL!

I think anything above 50,000 units got 90% allocation!!! Not as bad as Dangote flour. Note also that more units were offered for DSR. Additionally the fowrard PE of DSR was much lower. DSR was offered at a discount but the flour was done at a premium.
You are right Wanajo. They did return monies. I got my returned cheque and a miserly interest.

@wANAJO,

I have done some digging up myself. Oando is comig out for a PO this yr. Don't know when though. They also won the one of the shell block. The price high but if person fit collect good =N=50 from d stock, e no bad at all but person go require plenty of wad o for it to be meaningful.

@Aktopgun, how u dey. How Tobechukwu? I no go talk about our teams as oga wanajo don talk . Thanks for d analysis. With Fof2, Aktopgun, WindyWendy + other gurus, all of us go beta well well this yr for NSE.

But like Windy don talk, make u look wifey face o! We no like to be second choice even if plenty money go come.

Cheers

Nothing spectacular. Q1 PAT was N2bn. Q2 PAT was N5.8bn. So if Q3 PAT is <N10bn it implies that the Full year will be about N13bn. That will give an EPS of <N1.00 which at current price is like a PE of 22.00. So to me, nothing fantastic.

However, Diamond is well positioned to issue a bonus which may influence the price.
Thanks Wanajo. We go siddon put 4 dis one.

@oshkosh,

I have received my Oceanic certificate and even verified it. If you have more than 50K units, then you need to visit the registrars.

The phone no is 2713300-8. Tried this till my figers ached. Never got through. Anyway, I don't need then as I have verified the certificates.
