Bros Supo, Na God hand i dey with those LEAD people o. Las week na so i no fit concentrate for work dey burn phone card to call them after my Ajebo broker tok say make i fund my account wey money dey well inside.So tey them dey argue with me say i join them 2003 when i joined 2007.Na d money i wan take buy sometin quik before them loss am again as them don fix d problem, i give them 5/10 score. capiche!
I will give LEAD 3/10. Lousy with giving feedback. Always full of excuses. I bought Oceanic Po through them. My certificate was verified on the 31st of January. I gave a sell order for the profit and what do I hear for 2 weeks? "We have not been able to sell" No one investigated until I escalated it. They eventually found out that the Oceanic was not reflecting in my CSCS account(It was reflecting at the beginning of Feb) . To date we are still trying to get a simple statement from CSCS reflecting what it actually should be and no one can give me the status. It is when I call my RM, she then tries to get the feedback from the guys in charge of going to CSCS.

I have given them this week to conclude otherwise I will escalate to the MD.

I tire for brokers o!

RoughCut:
Hmnn from a very rough estimate you have made about N1.9M in profits. The sell candidates in your portfolio should be Diamond and UBA but if you do you will actually make a loss after commission and charges and you don't actually have the time. They are medium-long term stocks but you don't have the luxury of time on your side. GTB will do well anyway.

The only stock on that list i can recommend is NB they are doing very well but its got a fairly high nominal value but if you don't mind you fit enter and hopefully they do well again for Q1 in March but don't expect results until May so you can lock in your profits just before then.

Unfortunately there are no CICO stocks in that list  and i would be reluctant to recommend you do CICO considering you are using leveraged funds.

The problem with UBA Shareplus loan is that the costs are excessive i'm assuming this is the facility you got and i think it comes with 17% interest i think and then a 5% adm fee or something like that which you have to pay upfront.
Next time don't take a margin facility that restricts your choice of stocks.

Not sure i need to add the usual CAVEAT EMPTY if you don't make money on NB then may be you need to go and do something else

All the best!
@Roughcut, I will disagree with you on one point. UBA Share plus is actually the best in the market so far. I know because i am using it. You do not pay any interest or capital till after 1 year. You also have an option to renew after 1 yr and I intend to. In addition, the mgt fee was only 2%. That was all I paid. Nothing more.

Every other bank I have approached(quite a number) have stupid charges and crazy payback periods. I may have to settle for 1st Bank in the end.

Yes you use their stockbrokers but the charges are fair. 1% commission plus all the other charges as specified by SEC.

@Orisebawo, is this the original list you were given in July? The list I had at that time which I still use has CCNN(bought at 19.50), Vitafoam(bought at 9.99) and some others. It even has Unic insurance, Royal exchange Assurance. The one stock they don't have is Dangote Sugar. This is because it was just newly listed then.

When taking a facility like this, you eed to speak with a very experienced broker. They can give you insights on what to buy. NBC was a very good candidate in January. Their end of year is this month and I expect results similar to NB sice they are coming out of a loss position.

Speak to the guys over there. I was told that you could buy using the list you were given as at July last year. I know it is revised but was told it applies to any new applicant.

GTB will definitely give you at least 2 million profit considering the volume you have.

Goodluck though

@debenzd,
thanks so, should i take only profit, or everything and wait for it to come down a bit, thanks
It will have to be your choice. I had earlier on(in January) taken some profit when it climed to 37 naira. From past history(please check CSCS price history) the price never really goes down that much again till results are announced especially after February.

For now, I will allow what I have there work for me. It is just about 5 weeks(hopefully) left and then I can start shedding weight on GTB.

HELLO GURUS should i sell my GTB now.I bought around 33 naira.or i should wait alittle. thanks
Except you wan take only profit out and then come back again or buy other shares. GTB still has some meat in it. They release their results(traditionally in the 1st week of April) so that is your cue.

Mr. Risky:
I don't love any stock, I only like them as long as they perform. So I don't do LONG TERM in the true sense of the word, I befriend any stock so long as it performs, and once the fundamentals change, I parachute. That is me, though.
The late Asalu also had the same philosophy.

I feel you my brother. Don't give up though. Most of the people you see moving huge volumes and making mega bucks on this thread started small and have been at it for over 3- 5yrs. Some of us are also just seeing the light.

The only thing worse than your statement above is not investing at all. Use whatever u have and maybe start with some fundamental small capped stocks. Who knows maybe you will also having bragging rights on the thread in a shortwhile.

NSE no go crash(by God's grace) so jump on the train.

@Wanajo/Pumping what do you guys make of where Fidelity is heading?

@Napoleon, when do they(MTI) intend to list their shares? What is your candid assessment of their potentials as I know the Telecoms industry is growning at a very fast rate.

Many thanks

Grapevine ke?

Please do not trust your money on grapevine news.

Having said that, I will email Pumping what he can upload for a telecomms (afiliated) stock . I do not believe it is being hawked around so becareful how you choose to proceed on it. It is only N2.70 however, that may not be the price to be paid I am afraid. I am reluctant because I never encourage such practice. I am sending it only because I had a look here over the weekend and saw nonsence such as partership, resort savings and other waste of time's mentioned.
@pumping, I think Oga Napoleon was referring to MTI when he wrote the statement above.

Oga Napoleon, I see you are online, were u refering to this coy in your statement above?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by debenzd(f): 11:08am On Mar 04, 2008
Meanwhile, Mass Telecom Innovation Limited has commenced the private placement of 1,481,481,482 ordinary shares at N2.70 per share.

The Executive Vice-Chairman of the Company, Mr. Frank Karkitie, said in a statement on Monday, that as a player in the competitive communication industry, the major way it could make impact, was to open its ownership to the public.

The private placement, which closes on March 14, Kartikie said was to enable the firm expand its technology.

Got this from punchonline. This must be what uncle napo was talking about. I never hear of this coy b4.

@peet-ah,

I think the market is expecting their 1st qtr results which is expected to be good. They also have their AGM next week Friday, the bulls are in d market and it is still reasonably priced. Some people sold off after they released their end of year because there was no bonus.

@blueband, you don show am the stock you buy for am? Maybe you go refer am to Website like Nigeriansecurities or cashcraft when dey show how some stocks dey appreciate.

It is really difficult investing on behalf of someone. He has to know he can't bail out now.I think in the end this is one way you can prove to him that not all Nigerians are like that. I go help you pray make d stock truly make d 25% then make u give am in money.

invisible!:
This week I was offered a loan by FBN for 19%. The colateral I will bring along is only 20% of the entire amount. But still am not comfortable with something in their term and conditions. They told me that as I will be bringing in only 20% of the money, the margin call will be made to me when the portfolio loses about 20% of its value.

It is established that a nice stock selection these days will hardly lose 20% easily, but who can tell tomorrow.

Lets break it down a bit, I bring like 20 mil and will be given another 80 mil to make it 100 mil, then I will be allowed to trade with the entire 100 mil so far as the value of the entire portfolio at any point does not depreciate to 80 mil. If that unfortunate scenario happens, I will be called to fill up the margin, meaning that I should scout around and bring up 20 mil to make it up. I will also be servicing the interest monthly.

It was nice talking with them. Other banks offer same service only that their terms is for 30%. This is for the information of the risky at heart, see how this info will assist you.
@Invisible,

I had got a similar offer from 1st Bank too. Only it is 20% all in and for 2years. Otherwise same conditions.

I think so far it is the best I have got. First Inland wants 25% all in and u pay monthly or quarterly, FCMB wants 23% all in and u pay interest or principal+interest monthly. Intercontinental is 22.5% and u pay interest or principal+interest monthly.

So are u taking it? I think I will stick with 1st bank. One has to just be careful with the stocks bought.

I think it gained about 2.77% (N1.40) based on NSE data.

The result is good no doubt but hard to make out what happens short term.

The closure date is over a month away to start with and there is so much the price can rise due to the promise of dividend.

Long or medium term this looks like an excellent stock. The growth PAT rate of almost 100% and turnover growth rate of almost 50% is just fantastic.
@pumping

, and this does not include the interim dividend they paid in 2007. That brings the total I guess to 2.48K . Looks like they are back to their old ways.
