What exactly is wrong with you guys? Someone asked a question which implies that he/she doesn't know the answer and that is why he/she is asking such question. The whole Nigeria, I think the answer is "No" but as for the ethnic group where the president come from, I guess some might mourn for him. @Post, you have to understand that ethnicity plays a great role in whatever Nigeria is doing today. No matter how good a president is in Nigeria, some people will find fault with him because he does not belong to them and this is exactly why most people won't cry.

A good example is the death of Ojukwu. Most of the Igbos mourn for him in one way or the other but compare it to other ethnic groups in Nigeria, most don't even think about him twice.

You might be right but one thing is sure."Spambots follow the rule(s) given to it". For example, if I set the spambot not to allow any person with this username "jacobcasis", or any website with this name "example.com", the spambot will start monitoring such names when anyone make a post.

It is exactly the same way anti-virus program works. It follows the rules given to it by its programmer,it goes through the blacklist of unwanted names each time a program wants to run on your system.

Who do you think that ban the person? Of course it is the person that set the rule(s). The program did its final job

I got your point brother. I think the spam bot aka moderators are a little bit aggressive. Though I don't find them guilty because they are running their business the best possible way they think is perfect for their business. As you know, every business has rules.

Their case remains me of what happened during the swine flu that originated from Mexico. During those period, China banned all fright from Mexico. The Mexicans that wants to enter China will go through Japan and then book another fright from Japan to China. Then you will start asking yourself the essence of China banning fright from Mexico since they can still enter the country.

The same is happening on nairaland where the spam bot/human will ban a user and within open within 15 seconds you will see the user with a new account. Did Seun and the Moderators stop the user? The Answer is "No".

But if Seun remove the banning, a lot of folks will abuse the privilege. The banning has its advantages and disadvantages. One disadvantage of it is that it force users to create multiple accounts.

I think the best way to tackle this is instead of banning users, the moderators should delete the post(s) they find offensive.

2.) My second question is, when creating a new database and a new database user, is it good to give the user a complete priviledge. I came across a book that recommend not giving database user a complete priviledge. That you can only give the user SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, AND INSERT priviledge.

The issue of piracy is hardly to avoid. It does not only happen with softwares but movies, musics, cars, etc. Let's take microsoft products for example, many people using microsoft products like microsoft office think that it is free. Apart from that, even the operating system might be running on fake windows. Ok, let's talk about movies, if all Nigeria buy original nollywood movies, believe me the actors will be among the top richest people in Nigeria. There are some softwares that cost 2500dollars to 5000dollars. I wonder how many people are willing to buy it if they can get it somewhere at less than 2dollars. You get my point. This is what I believe, if a user can get a software somewhere for free, or at a lower price, I am not against him but I will encourage him to pay back in full when he has the money.

In my own opinion, no country is consider developed or developing. Technology change with time just like any other thing else. For example, check the meaning of Uranium as of 1890-1930, the dictionary defined it as a substance that amount to small or no value. But check the meaning again today, you will get my point.

Around 1600, China was the richest country in the world. I am sure that if you ask any of their professor as of the time, they will tell you that their country(China) is the most developed country in the world.

The same applys to Egypt when they where the world power and the most richest. I believe the same applies to Roman and other great countries of the past.

Regarding Nigeria being developed, if we have to judge with the situation of today I will say that we still have a long we to go.

As things change, countries might not be consider developed anymore.

I have been arguing with a friend that Email Marketing and SMS marketing don't worth the expenses and time. My reasons are

Emailing people about your product is consider spasming to most folks. Some of the email even end up in the user's spasm box while some of the email got deleted without the user even consider reading it.

Regarding Sms marketing, it is very easy to generate millions of phone numbers but how do you know that some of the numbers are still in use. Some of the users don't even have a phone that can access internet. There are others that don't even know much about internet and what do you think he/she will do to the message if it arrive at his/her phone. Of course the message will be deleted.

Do you think email marketing and sms worth the time and money invested in it. If yes, shear your experience and how it affected your clients/yours business.

Since you are into networking, I would recommended that you start with networking company. You can later incorporate other computer field of your choices. But if you must start everything now, then watch out the people you are employing. Like someone already mentioned, most of them have skills but lack the character.

When employing, do not focus only on their skills but also their characters. Your instincts will tell you that. If you don't know anything on software programming, auto cad, etc, I am afraid to say you have a hard nut to crack.

It is just like you are into real estate business but you don't know a thing about it, then you employ someone that knows much about it, it is highly likely that the person will screw you.

In my opinion, the best way to tackle this issue is go into partnership with someone that is familiar with programming,autocad. While you handle the networking aspecting, the person will focus on the programming aspect.

The second option you have is to sponsor some guys that knows much about the stuffs but lack the capital to start. You can work with them.

Remember that people like Bill Gate, Steve Job, Mark(facebook), Google guys, Yahoo guy, and others know started by themselves and as they got bigger, they started employing guys.

Finally take your time to study the life of Henry Ford and how how managed to control talented men despite lacking most of the talent that those men have.
