The Nigeria military know the name of the hardware, which country use similar hardware and the year it was manufactured. What they mean by "strange" is that they are not aware of it intention to pass through our country. They were not inform. The owner refused to follow proper channels. The military can't seize equipment just like that and start using. It does not work like that, custom are in charge of goods or equipment brought into the country while immigration are in charge of people that enter the country. While the army is to protect against external threats. Everybody has their roles. If is been confirm which Africa military owns the equipment and is not a threat to national security, it will be return back. They may be ask to pay fine for not following proper channel.
