It looks the ACN members are bunch of idi-ots or election riggers. The party stalwarts alleged rigging of the electoral process in the places their candidates lost the election and claimed free and fair polling where their candidates won. One can only understand the act of rigging in an electoral process if such person is a rigger.

Politics › Re: Yoruba Voters Are Wiser Than Igbo Voters by Dede1(m): 3:40pm On Apr 13, 2011
@OP

This poster usually brings intelligent plank to this forum. However, Nigerian socio-political decadence can throw a moment of confusion to a stable mind. Everybody in Nigeria knows there is always tribal twist to Yoruba voting pattern. It does not take rocket scientist to notice such pattern as recently as in 1999. If Yoruba son was not an incumbent during 2003 presidential election, AD would have still remain in existence and ACN would not have been born as a political party.

I appreciate such tactless political flow of Yoruba people although mainly driven by tribalism. Such political dynamism is second to none in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Igbo Leaders In North Back Jonathan by Dede1(m): 3:17pm On Apr 13, 2011
Kobojunkie:
Precisely !!! Another election and no one seems to be paying much attention to the South East . . . none of the candidates seem bothered to work to win the East, why? Because they feel the other regions are worth more to them at this point. SE ought to be the important region here since half of the candidates do not even have a SEasterner on the ballot at but NO, no one gives a darn because the leaders have sold out a long before this for kobo-kobo.

Most of these so-called leaders are nothing but opportunists looking for ways of getting for themselves and not much else.
This is one of the most skewed political postulations I have read on this forum. Even in the absences of the so-called South-south geopolitical enclave, the South East is one of the most politically relevant zones in the country. One thing about the zone is that it does not cow-tow to a political party or godfather style of politics. Since the zone had made it known about the choice of a political party, in this case PDP as indicated by the governors of states within the zone, it would amount to waste of money and time for other parties without any Igbo among their flag bearers to stump the zone politically. Even the visit of Buhari to zone was met with token fanfare.

Everybody knows where Ndigbo hedged their political interests as they were not always dictated by tribalism. Even when political parties had an Igbo person as a running mate, if the political history of one of the flag bearers militated against the collective interest of people such political party will not fly in Igbo land.
Politics › Re: Igbo Leaders In North Back Jonathan by Dede1(m): 2:55pm On Apr 13, 2011
whatever anyone says, Igbos will be back at the right time. It is a law of nature.

As for my brothers in the north running after Jonathan, I wish them well. Luckily, they will be the first to shout when their sins come after them.

I hate tibalism. Even if I am to be a tribalist, Jonathan is simply not Igbo. He is Ijaw. Igbos fought the war without Ijaw support. I take the Ikweres and the Ikas in River and  Delta as Igbos but not Ijaws.

Yorubas have told me severally that Igbos will never rule Nigeria. Ijaws have said that several times. No Hausa has said that to me. So, I would rather vote an Hausa if I am to judge based on tribal sentiments than an Ijaw man

But outside tribalism, Buhari is the best for Nigeria. I see no reason why those Igbos in the North will troop to Jonathan but for ignorance. Of course we call them Ommatas. They have the money but lack intelligence. Politics means only stealing of public wealth to them.

Politics to me is the acts of organising my society. This Jonathan can simply not do better than Buhari.

When will my generation get this message. When will my Igbos get it.

Nigeria shall one day be free and emancipated.
It is unfortunate that GEJ ethnicity had remained a mystery to this moment. I guess it is very good thing the real ethnicity of GEJ is covered especially to the bunch of ignoramus crowd of Nigerians. Many ethnic groups in southern Nigeria had wished Igbo extraction should never ascend to the position of presidency in Nigeria but such wishful indulgence should not blindfold Ndigbo when presented with the option of choosing between a human fraud and breaker of laws such Buhari and a novice such as GEJ.

Through the gauges of individual actions as precipitated upon the Ndigbo by the means of various governmental machinations, it would amount to display of stark ignorance for Igbo son or daughter to vote for Buhari.

Politics is not limited to party manifestos and individual promises. It also lingers toward the deeds of certain individuals vying for position of authority in any given society. The actions of Mohammadu Buhari immensely contributed to senseless massacre of innocent citizens of Nigeria mainly of Igbo extraction in northern region of Nigeria from 1966 and beyond.

It is very sad day indeed. The southerners in Ivory Coast who thought Gbagbo is focal point of their problems failed to see the ominous yet underlying blunder of ceding both economic and military powers to the northerners in Ivory Coast under the direction of a mindless colonial master. It will definitely hit them as reality in few years to come. Again, Ivory Coast will cease to be a peaceful and united country. This is the first step of becoming a Nigeria.

Politics › Re: Vice-president Namadi Sambo’s Constituency Goes To Cpc by Dede1(m): 1:51pm On Apr 13, 2011
It is completely disingenuous and corrupt practice for anybody to reiterate the fact that Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) is new party. The term CPC could be new acronym but the operatives in the party are not green. Buhari has been a political operative before the days of ANPP. Majority of the winners from CPC has been known political mutants since the days of Ahmadu Bello’s NPC, Aminu’s NEPU, Balarebe’s PRP and Shagari’s NPN.

Nigerians do not vote based on manifesto of a political party. Rather they vote for individuals and direction of any current wave of political shenanigans. Buhari and his followers could have broken the record of political association in Nigeria. No Nigeria could match the Buhari with political party affiliation.

@ Londoner,
NO ONE is envious of the Igbo woman's "achievements". What ever she does, well, good for her, igbos and Nigeria. The only difference, I believe, between the Igbo woman and women in other ethnic groups is, they announce too much. This is a very unbiased assessment. But all in all, igbo women have tried! Kudos!!!

@ Onlytruth,
You must always play the ethnic card. What is wrong with your headhuh? Must everything be Igbo best, Biafra etchuh? You are very emotional in discussions and very bigoted, even to the pits of hell itself!!!

@Navfam,
you have to acknowledge them. Although, they want to make it seem like they are the best. If that's the case, then they are the best. Just stop arguing because you will never win.
Did you read the main article by Femi Fani-Kayode before spewing these illogicalities? There was no instance the author insinuated the Igbo women boastfully announced their achievements. You seem to flip up a sort of intelligence or lack thereof when Igbo is mentioned. If author had presented women of tribes other than Igbo, you would have been blowing your horn of ecstasy.

Politics › Re: Congrats Nigerians! We Are Holding Peaceful, Free And Fair Elections! by Dede1(m): 2:21pm On Apr 09, 2011

Anybody who salivates about free and fair election in Nigeria is delusional. Nigeria is a situation where stupidity has taken the place of sanity whereby police and army guard the polling stations with orders to shoot without questions while election is underway. What is actually free about the election in Nigeria? I shall not even talk of fairness in place such as Nigeria.

If democracy slightly resembles what is obtained in Nigeria where the movements of the people are truncated by orders of a mere local government chairman, I say shove it. Nigeria shall remain a big joke for a long time.

i don't see how those 4 points impact us, they are worthless if you put them in a perspective, they are not example, if you take a igbo woman how has she impacted women the same way that the president of liberia or nana asama'u have? these women are used as examples unlike those jokes, and also they are not the first women to preside over anything, the advisor of the leader of the government is from the north do you think that has any impact if we speak of women in general in nigeria? i doubt it

igbo women are not ahead of anyone, never have and never will, you may think they are the best thing but you've also thought you will lead this nation, how many first ladies have been igbo? lol, im not proud of them because they don't pay my meal , you cant force us to be proud of people who will not exist in our memories in 50 years time
If you tend to be dubious in your posts, I suggest you standup the facts to withstand the scrutiny of time and relevance. The two women you cited in your post were memorial artifacts and had absolutely no relevance to the making of a substantive woman.

Any well-groomed goat can easily become president in Africa talk less of the person installed by powers that received exclusive services from her. Nana Asama’u other than being a daughter of ruler of a caliphate would have amounted to nobody. The act of shouting “Allah Akbar” to the point of inflicting headache does not constitute achievement in my book. In addition, if learning how to read Quran constitutes achievement in northern region of Nigeria, I shall partition Femi Fani-Kayode to re-visit his article.

If Nana was so influential in the development of women in northern region of Nigeria, I shall say her influence was limited to moonlight gathering. Even men from the northern region of Nigeria did not secure admission to higher educational institutions until 1948.
