Gutter education. Are you displaying Igbo pride? Your autobiography would make the Mental research world proud.
You can never disapoint. You read Rino.5dm’s rubbish and you could only muster this gibberish; “Na wa oh, so na naija women all of una dey abuse? Are you ppl mentally stable? For real, I'd say Nigerian men are the big time prost-itutes.” Yet you have the effrontery to repudiate abadaba’s response to rhino’s idiotic fantasy. If Rhin.5dm has issue with the thread, he or she could either address the thread originator or the author of the piece. |
Abagworo:I am compelled to label your assertion towards the possible outcome of the pending Nigerian election as arithmetical simplicity. Given the power of incumbency on the part of GEJ/Sambo ticket in addition to number of state Governors in-tow, I could say the safe geopolitical zones for any candidate are SE and the so-called SS. The result of Nigerian pending elections can not be predicted by the scene of jobless individuals that fill the stadia during political rallies. |
jason123:Nobody or group of persons jumps into political fray just to settle for opposition prize. The aim of every political practitioner is to win control of the government at the center. Yoruba people are not interested in running opposition in government. However, the Yoruba’s gambler approach which is fueled by tribalism has left them in opposition corner much of Nigeria’s political history. |
Aigbofa:Example of tribal politics could be viewed through the legacy of Awolowo from the formative years of Egba Omo Oduduwa which gave rise to Action Group to UPN to AD and to ACN. |
Aigbofa:First, you are such an insignificant political minnow to give political advice to my people. Second, the only time a son of Yoruba ascended to the apex position through Nigeria’s electioneering process, block vote of Yoruba was not involved and remained inconsequential till today. In 1999 general election, Yoruba rode with AD and three months after the election, the Yoruba political party called AD ceased to exist. This is what I meant by political gambling encouraged by tribalism. |
jason123:If you had paid rapt attention to dates and elections of era quoted in my previous post, you should have no choice but agree with the deductions made in the post. Yoruba land, except Lagos, is a comfortable abode for tribal politics. As for appointments of Igbo stocks into governmental positions in Lagos it is a latecomer because Zik, in 1954, appointed a Yoruba son the press secretary to government of eastern region. Again, Yoruba would rather boycott an election than support a political party with non-Yoruba flag bearers |
Please fellow contributors; there is no human being who is BLACK or WHITE for that matter. The continuous propagation of social decadence levied upon Africans by the Europeans is the bane of sociological progress among Africans. If by tomorrow there exists any stroke of chance where the Europeans would reverse the nonsensical nomenclature of human hue from Yellow to Brown, Africans would be the first group to kill for it. If the Europeans tell Africans that a leader among them is dictator, they will jump to destruction of properties and lives without studying the merits of such junk. I guess history has done a poor job on Africans as formative years of Europe were championed by dictators seemed not to resonate with them. |
@Poster Tell Buhari that an interloper is worse than a rogue in my book. |
@POST It is an indelible truth that opinion could be a terrible thing which everybody unfortunately had one. The post by Abagworo contradicts every relevant aspect of recorded events. From 1951 to 1959 elections and most recently in 1999, the Yoruba’s politics of tribalism had remained inconsequential. I shall not give the honor of “golden bride” of Nigerian politics to Yoruba like the author of this thread had done but could part with audacious gamblers. Politics in Nigeria could be whatever an onlooker termed it but I would say unequivocally the political shenanigans from Yoruba land is pure tribal and grandstanding. In addition, I should also add that Yoruba people are the most politically savvy group of people in Nigeria. |
namfav:The thought of bringing the name of Nana Asam'u in discussion about cadre of women mentioned by Femi Fani Kayode is culpable insult. It is a shocking matter that certain people could not differentiate a token memorial from real individual achievement. If shouting “Allah Akbar” to induce headache is regarded as one of the epic achievements of Nana Asam'u as one delusional namfav would want us to believe, it is definitely not out of vogue that suicidal undertakings such as Jihad was and continues to be an accepted trend in the northern region of Nigeria. |
Africans are big fools to think that might is not right. Unfortunately, Africans have been bereft of any indigenous thinking faculty. I use to think of “greater tomorrow” from Africa but future looks so gloomy as manifested by certain responses to this thread. |
@POST I guess most of the Africa’s forefathers who sold fellow Africans to Europeans for a piece of mirror were intellectually superior to, at least, first 12 respondents to this thread. |
The answer to thread is capital NO. Nigeria can not defend itself from an internal force of well-determined battalion. Anybody who thinks Nigeria will progress beyond a mere geographical expression is a compound fool and needs to be flogged into deafness. The country is built on a sandy foundation and the civil war completely closed the chapter on its formative stage. |
@Post I do not agree with the skewed analysis. As usual, BBC is woefully wrong. BBC could not even get it right with ethnic identity. There is no ethnic group in Nigeria called Hausa-Fulani. However, there are Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. If Hausa-Fulani ethnicity existed, there must be Yoruba-Igbo or Igbo-Ibibio or Igbo-Ijo ethnic group in Nigeria. |
Africans shall remain “mumu” for a very long time. Democracy is the tool of neo-colonialism in 21st century as Christianity and Civilization were tools of colonialism in 19th century. When did it become the function of UN to conduct and announce the election results of sovereign nations? |
Any religious follower who engages in wanton destruction of properties and human life simply because an ordinary paper or a bundle of papers was burnt is drooling fool and the religion in question is gutter religion. Anybody can burn bible and there shall be no riot. Who the hell do these Muslims think they are? |
Many Nigerians are impractical onlookers. In my political permutation, PDP does not constitute the only problem in Nigeria. The colonial contraption called Nigeria is the root of its problems. The constant deterioration of economic infrastructures in Nigerian did not start and fledge the last 12 years of PDP reign in the office. It is pure political naiveté to blame PDP for the societal decadences found in abundance within Nigerian society. Even the so-called democracy being forced upon the people on the urging of the colonial masters had encouraged the backwardness. It beats my imagination how any society could practice democracy without the fundamental pre-requites of the system. Nigeria has the most useless three arms of the government that compliment democracy in the world. The government have completely rendered the society powerless by the taking the guns away from the law-abiding citizens of the country. |
Hamid O:It is very unfortunate that analogies streaming from Nigerians seem to beg for logic. How does the current registration of voters in Nigeria differ from previous registrations other than the introduction of so-called high tech and computerization of the former and yet the first day of polling constituted colossal failure? In fact, considering the waste of resources connected to the practical joke displayed by Jega this current electioneering process in Nigeria will be the most wasteful and rig laden election ever witnessed in the cesspit called Nigeria. |
recoome:It is very interesting that your post seemed to insinuate GEJ, PDP and any Igbo stock contesting on any political platform will get Igbo vote. I had thought GEJ is Ijo and your analysis would have featured more Ijo voting block in association with GEJ than Igbo or “Igbotic” if I may borrow your expression as Lagos State is concerned. Nigerians are very funny set of people especially when they decide to play Russian roulette with politics and ethnicity. Other than this omission of Ijo presence in Lagos State, I think your analysis is very engaging. |
@OP In the map and chart posted, the poster further deduced that a high population density is the reason a particular group could be found all in corners of Nigeria. But the map suggested Lagos State has the highest population density in Nigeria which makes it an exception. |
Buhari is and shall remain a product of political nepotism masterminded by Emirs and politicians of northern region of yesteryears. I am not surprised he turned a blind eyes to the criminality perpetrated by an Emir from the northern region of Nigeria whose son was Buhari’s ADC. The airhead named Buhari has an unfinished business with Nigeria and would be a regrettable travesty to allow this fraud a second chance at the helm. |
@OP Goodluck Jonathan did it because he is a fool as well as a rogue. The need to represent good natured behavior does not negate the idea of being law-abiding. The first step towards sanitization of any society is to make everybody answerable to the laws of the land. Goodluck Jonathan acts of restoring Nuhu Ribadu’s AIG rank and permitting him and Nasir El-Rufai return to Nigeria without facing the charges brought against them were marks of indiscipline and recklessness, Goodluck Jonathan should have allowed the Ribadu and El-Rufai to defend their innocence in the law court regardless the flimsiness of the charges. How many Nigerians of low social strata have received such treatment even when faced with less offence such as constituting a public nuance? I did not cringe when Goodluck Jonathan wantonly flouted certain section of PDP constitution for personal ends because he had shown the trait of an outlaw. Criminals shall find a way to defend fellow criminals. |
I guess Nigeria should be deleted. |
FACE:I did not mean Ararume built the network of roads in posts because the roads existed in certain forms before the birth of Ohakim or Ararume. Granted that a Senator does not control state’s resources or budget, yet a person who represents a constituency in such capacity has political influence to attract projects such as repair or re-surface of roads. The network of roads in question which starts at “7th Corners at Obowo” or where the Owerri/Mbaise road joined Umuahia/Obowo road which goes through Umuelemia to Amaraku/Anara was in peak form in 2004. I inquired from few local political practitioners in Amaraku and Igiri who was responsible for the peak conditions of the roads. They resourcefully informed me it was the handiwork of Senator Ararume. By the way, I have no stake in the outcome of gubernatorial election in Imo State. |
