teddydonny:In electioneering pitch, there is no foolish argument. Granted there must be a winner or loser in any contest, the assumed winner shall never forget to be humble. Bear in mind this is democracy and in most cases the final result does not follow the referendum. |
I have always been happy of being an Imolite, but today is the climax. Up Imo!!!!!!! Rochas Okorocha, the people of Imo have made various sacrifices, they left their businesses, risked their lives in the face of Ohakim's matchete and gun-carrying boys, Imo people went out under the sun and in the rain to vote and protect their votes. Now it is your turn, Mr Governor-Elect, prepare to reciprocate and make your own sacrifices when you get their. Please work for the people and not for yourself. We don't want a second ohakim there. Congratulation, Rochas (There's no way Ohakim will succeed if he goes to court) Finally, Prof Jega has proved his credibility
If the alleged news that election was not conducted in Oguta LGA is true, the Imo State gubernatorial election result that declared Rochas the winner has a day in Court of Appeals. Democracy does not encourage disenfranchisement of any group people. I am afraid the whole thing is a setup for court battle which could truncate the political joy expressed by the people of Imo State toward initial INEC pronouncements. |
The behavior of the so-called APGA supporters in Imo State is despicable. They generate the worst rumor and create unnecessary political tension that fly in the face of democracy. This is an election for goodness sake and the results usually do not follow according to the wishes of electorate. Again, anybody who reads through certain ridiculous posts about the election in Nigeria would easily conclude Nigerians have no business with democracy. |
Nigeria shall also do away with quota system in the intake of officer’s cadet into Nigeria military academy via NDA. It must be strictly based on the standardized written examination across the country. Most of the northerners who came from the military background that are now jostling for the position of president, vice president, senate president and house speaker should not have been contenders if not for quota system. |
jason123:“Well said northern leaders” on what ground? How do you determine most competent person for the posts of speaker of the house and president of the senate? I guess you have to conduct a written examination to determine individual’s skill sets. I have said unequivocally Nigerians are not qualified to sit in a room where democracy is discussed. |
texazzpete:I am tempted to allude you have comprehensible issues. As much as Nigeria is concerned, it is foolhardy for Igbo extraction to embark on campaign for supremacy. It should be a needless endeavor since the test of the pudding is in the eating. However as a product of Igbo ethnicity, I am born to uphold dignity of Ndigbo and further agitate for an independent Igboland. If such endeavors come across to you as supremacist campaign, I guess you have issues with nationalism. In addition, I must say you are deficient in comprehension. If not, how could you have deduced my post supported either of the gubernatorial contestants in Imo State? Unless you are allergic to democracy my choice of candidate in a democratic dispensation should not cause you a political headache. Again for an umpteenth time, I had rather have Republic of Biafra or Igboland than Nigeria. If such stance amounts to campaign for Igbo supremacy on my part, I shall wear it as a badge of honor. By the way, it is okay for you to be ashamed of your ethnicity on naira land. |
sheriff777:I am tempted to call you a liar if you insist you are willing to call the governor of Imo State a thief face to face. Baring being governor, Ohakim could at least engage you in physical combat if you call him a thief face to face. ![]() It is wildly acclaimed that prophets are not regarded in their villages so the fact you hailed from this same village as Ohakim amounts to prank. ![]() I am not a supporter of Ohakim but anybody who had served as Special Adviser to OBJ is not good for Imo State. Please you should not allow the aversion you developed for Ohakim to overshadow the principle of democracy which allows space for voices of dissent. |
seanet02:I am afraid if you have not hugged a transformer based on the manner you represented innuendos. AC, Action Congress, was formed in 2006 and won gubernatorial seat in Lagos State in 2007 when none of the sons of the soil made the presidential ticket of PDP. AD, Alliance for Democracy, gave rise to AC and we know how it came about without any link to good governance. Are you not delusional to speak about ACN setting foot in Alaigbo? |
@POST Whether Rochas Okorocha tricked Owerri political zone into voting for him or not, the zone has demonstrated unprecedented political naivety during the inclusive gubernatorial election in Imo State. There is nothing glaringly about Okorocha’s political demeanor that could set him apart from Ohakim. I believe in the saying that devil you know is better than the devil you do not know. I am not a water-carrying supporter of Ohakim and his tenure at Imo State government house. The shortfalls of political expectations of the citizens of the state are due to dereliction of duty on the part of Imo State House of Assembly. One of the cardinal principles of democracy is the essence of separation of powers which enhances checks and balances. I am of the opinion those elected into Imo State house dropped the ball on the electorates of the state. |
Uneducated fo-ols go around with ill-formed mentality that ACN is a Yoruba party. Even after non-yorubas came out pronouncing themselves as one of ACN's founders. Beats me why Nigerians prefer living in the dark. People are skeptical about ACN because it has most of its supporter in the SW and because one of its PROMINENT leaders is a Yorubaman. Mu he he. And why would the SW not vote out PDP, the rigging, the do-or die politics founded by PDP grandpapa OBJ, esp the way OBJ and and his useless PDP dealt the SW? Any rational and educated (dont even have to be educated to know right from wrong) SW'ner would have voted out PDP. High number of voters on 4/9, Low numbers of voters on 4/16, and high number of voters on 4/26 confirms that as of right now, the SW just want local development. How dare one imbe-cile come on NL calling ACN a Yoruba party because the SW people voted wisely. The SW is giving GEJ a chance to prove his leadership skills (I understand that he hasnt started yet), come 2015, if he doesnt prove it, even the magic numbers of the SS/SE wont save his seat. Because me, a Yoruba woman, cannot fathom why a president with fresh air and agenda of unity is offering Ndi-Igbo a senatorial seat just because of their magic numbers and OBJ/minions ministry seats just because the SW voted them out. We are simply watching.
Thanks to free modalities of Internet that allow ill-educated trolls to engage in an incoherent rant such as above post. Whether a non-Yoruba cries ACN is not Yoruba party or non-Yoruba shouts ACN is Yoruba party, it makes no difference to the actual scheme of things on the ground. The undisputable fact remains that ACN is a regional party in Nigeria as evidenced within Yoruba enclave. |
Eziachi: Even before Ngige said it, I had always said that those calling ACN a Yoruba party are just ignorant. Just because they have strong base in the SW doesn't make them so and I am sure if not for rigging they would have registered a firm presence in places like Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Benue, Imo and Rivers state.I am not disposed to saying that political parties in Nigeria belong to certain ethnic group but would rather say few are regional parties. ACN is a regional party for a region of Yoruba ethnicity. What you termed as ignorant is what I called educated guess. If it quacks like a duck it is simply a duck. I also beg to disagree on the bolded sentence. There were IPP, UPP and UPN. If you insinuate AG was Yoruba political party then ACN is a Yoruba political party regardless of alphabetical identification. |
@POST Has it occurred to those who would want to stand historical facts on their heads that if the alleged migrations of numerous people from Benin Empire were true, there would have been nobody left in Benin Empire? |
@POST The ministers should not panic but face the political reality. The real fact of political matter is that political patronage has always being determined by the political support. SW region of Nigeria has decided to sow its seeds on political garden of ACN and should be made to reap from it. |
jason123:You seemed to be pale in historical facts. As you are a self-acclaimed Itsekiri, I am tempted to call you an ingrate. |
mikeansy:Pal, the postulation of the wild-eyed lady called Kobo is truism of the saying that those who failed to understand the blunders of yesteryears are bound to repeat them. |
Kobojunkie:Shut up your putrid mouth already. You forget there are remote causes to everything. Do I need to educate you on the genetic factors that led to your dilapidated body? One of the reasons Nigeria remains in a state of awkward predicament today is because the patriotism that greets the birth of a nation was murdered in 1966. |
Kobojunkie:You seemed to be delusional. Nigeria is faced with ethno-politico-religious riot that reared its ugly head within cities of northern region in 1956 and the buffoonery in you spurred you to dwell on numbers. If 50 years are so significant in your scheme of things, why should a pattern of riots born more than 50 years ago still reverberate in northern region of Nigeria? |
seanet02:Talking about common sense, I do not think any sense is common to you. I guess the Yoruba did not fight in the civil war. Even a jackass knew Yoruba fought in the war but you. By the way, jackass is better than you. The subject matter is not whether Yoruba fought in the war but on which side. The first action of a coward is to deny involvement when situation goes beyond joke. |
@POST Nigeria is a pretentious endeavor as well as the NYSC. I say unequivocally scrape the con job. Nigeria has failed woefully as a country talk less of a venture created to make avenue for stealing money. |
seanet02:This is hilarious indeed. What happened to AD? |
Kobojunkie:What an irresponsible postulation as usual. I am a Newtonian and very fond of the third law. |
The only weak minded and heartless peeps in the south are the Igbos couple with sheer strenght in armed robbery, drug pushing and pros.t.tution. What an irony.
When Ndigbo stood up against the aggressors from northern region of Nigeria in 1966, your forbearers did unthinkable thing. They shook and urinated in their pants at the sight of a drunken northern region soldier. In regardless that a prominent son of the soil had been killed in Ibadan the capital city of the Republic of Oduduwa, they were cowered to do the bidding for the northerners. I am not surprise a dimwit such as you would construe cowardice as bravery. After all, apple does not fall far from the tree. |
seanet02:Is Saul also among the prophets? You are a pitifully laughable dimwit. ![]() |
@OP You can not understand this intrigue until study the socio-political impasse in the protectorates from 1914 to January 15, 1966 and what followed thereafter |
yiboboy:Pal, I have no intention to make light of the situation. In addition, as you have attested that kudos should be given to whom it is due, I subscribe to such standards. However, the stretching of benevolence through gubernatorial transport fare does not stroke my political fancy. I lost an auntie during 1966 ethno-politico-religious riot in northern region which culminated into Nigeria/Biafra civil war. If the forbearers of these people who found glamour in the word, evacuation, had taken a stand worth writing home about, we should not be discussing the incessant ethno-politico-religious riots now. |
Katsumoto:No, far from it and my point is if anybody is capable to pull him or her self to a nearby airport during the rampage, why the call for evacuation from state governor? The riot happened in Nigeria not Cameroon. If every state governor should scamper to evacuate the “citizen of Nigeria” who happens to hail from the same state as the governor because women are rioting in Ariaria Market, why must we remain in the British accident of suzerainty called Nigeria? Governors of the states where the riot ragged, including GEJ, should have been under the sharp edge of impeachment and pending such process by now. You know I really do not have time to play at the gallery. Why should few trolls concentrate on the so-called youth corpers while there were many citizens from the same state as youth corpers who were killed? Are those non-youth corpers not qualified for the so-called-made-for-newspaper evacuation? If the governors had sent commandos to extricate the indigenes of a state, including the corpers, when the riot was at its peak in the streets if northern Nigeria states, such action could be commendable. However, the act of extending transport fares to persons already at the airport and try very hard to make hay out of it amounts to practical joke. The stupid and joke-ladden evacuation is not the solution to the idiotic riots. These clueless governors should explore necessary actions to curb the riots including abolition of the so-called national youth corp service. They should have taken federal government and states were such riots took place to task. The press generated by this silly evocation is hogwash. Please pals, let us for once apply sense of highest deduction and endeavor to junk this silly idea of evacuation before it becomes a fad. |
@POST Of course, nothing would happen if Buhari is arrested except the press releases and court actions to bail him out. Other than this particular point, the article is filled with incoherent rhetoric. The northern region knew the source of their socio-political headache in southern region and went ahead to block it in 1966 through 1970. The northern elites knew that if poison laced bones were thrown to certain group of people in southern Nigeria, the socio-political migraine they envisaged in future would be cured. They also knew that such potent poison will remain in system of intended victims for a very long time. In the southern Nigeria, northern elites got the Yoruba, Ijo, Edo, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Efik, Ejigam and Esan to do their dirty biddings and thereby create everlasting enmity between Ndigbo/Biafran and their once good neighbors through a goofy slogan of One-Nigeria. Can anybody fathom why Rivers State under the leadership of Ijo son was chosen to perfect the draconian policy of “abandon property”? As long as there is no iota of unity or corporation among the southerners, the elites in northern region will continue to exploit the situation. The loudmouthed Asari Dokubo should concentrate his efforts on the government of Rivers State to purge itself from the iniquities of abandon property in Port Harcourt and urge other southern Nigerians to really apologize to Biafrans. It is funny there was no abandon property in any other part of Nigeria but Port Harcourt. The northern region and its elitism are not stupid by any stretch of imagination. They will continue to test the degree of unity among southerners either by religious and political riots that target the lives and properties of non-northerners and Christian in northern region or making insensitive and outrageous comments that border on stupidity. |
