Speaking from experience, my daddy and his 2 senior brother retired has MGs. when they tried putting many Delta youths in the army, they refused and I knew many senior officers from the south who were begging their Youths to join.

Please ask you dad and his two senior brothers how they joined? Even the recruitment of other ranks is strictly on quota system. Now, NDA is a closed door to Ndigbo. During my intake, it was still a hell for any Igbo boy to pass through selection board. This single action forced most Igbo chaps to change their surnames.

You keep writing about quota systems as if the north created it.

The government of Nigeria led by the northern political and military elites created quota system.

So you mean the Northerners are smarter than the igbos and yorubas, if they could play them a fast game.

But i wonder, why you are trying to omit the first coup that was organized by an igbo man who wanted domination.

Before the biafra war, there was a coup that killed lot of northern officers and leaders which eventually lead to a revenge.

The quota systems was created by the British not Northerners.

Please read well before making silly comments. Northerners are not half smart as Igbo or Yoruba. Northerners did not play Ndigbo instead they cunningly convinced Yoruba and other southern minorities to join in a fight against Ndigbo and Biafrans. If the Yoruba and other southern minorities did join the northern region against the Biafrans, the war would not have last for six months.

The reason most Southerners are joining the military today is due to lack of jobs, even with the last recruitment northerners turn out was very high compared to Southerners.
Southerner youth will write jamb 3-4 times before giving up, while a Northerner will just pass ssce and apply once.

The northern elites in government introduced the QUOTA SYSTEM and a debased standard for NDA intakes for northerners. The two are political strategies the north would not have allowed if the reverse was the case. The north knew there are many turncoats in southern Nigeria.

There was a coup first against the north before the supposed domination. If there was no coup, there won't be any domination.

The coup has nothing to do with domination. The northerners played the Yoruba and other Nigerian minorities who joined to fight Biafra. Northerners were mostly find in one of the divisions of Nigerian army during Nigeria\Biafra war. Why the southerners were busy fighting fellow southerners in Biafrans, the northerners were busy stuffing NDA and military positions with northerners. When the war ended, the northerners in various position of the government and armed forces of Nigeria instituted QUOTA SYSTEM which gave the undue advantage on numerical strength to the north. If the intake for NDA was left without QUOTA SYSTEM, Ndigbo would have overtaken them.

Before the Nigerian Army became what is it today, it was formally called The Royal West African Frontier Force. This force was created by the British Colonial Office in 1900 to garrison the West African colonies of Nigeria, Gold Coast, Sierra Leone and Gambia. In 1928, it received royal recognition, becoming the Royal West African Frontier Force (RWAFF).

Out of the Royal West African Force came the Northern and Southern Nigeria Regiment which eventually became the Nigerian Army.

After Nigeria got independence, the new Nigerian Army was open for all, applications were sent far and wide but guess what happened, many southerner politicians persuaded their people not to join the army, only the stubborn southerners joined. At the end of the day, northern applicants were more than southern applicants, because of the disparities in the number of applications between the North and the south, lot of public awareness about the Nigerian army were advertised on the radio, tv and newspaper, infact, army recruiters were sent to many southern villages and town but they all declined to join.

At the end of the day, many Northerners were recruited in the army leaving the south with very few soldiers. Because of lack of foresight from the southern politicians, they all missed the train.

Till today, southerners are still suffering from the effect of their lack of participation in the Nigerian army...this same effect is also seen in the Nigerian navy, airforce and police.

The lack of foresight from southern politicians will lead to the destruction of the south, presently, the south is experiencing a brain drain, at the end of the day, the north will get all those opportunities which brain drains took away.

Actually, the southerners were more educated in western civilization than the northerners therefore the southerners were reluctant to join the army at lower cadre. Also the exposition gained in WW2 by southerners informed their siblings not to join the army. However the southerners, specifically the Igbo, dominated the officer's cadre of Nigerian army as of 1966. The northerners used the opportunity created by Nigeria\Biafra war to dominate the Nigerian army both officer's cadre and other ranks. The bolded is very Nigerian in articulation, lack of intellect.

Is there anything like 302 brigade or not?

In fact, you are correct on technical terms of military parlance. The unit at Onitsha is 302 Artillery Regiment. However brigade could represent regiment in various armies.

Politics / Re: Atiku: Nigeria Needs Urgent Rescue by Dedetwo(m): 10:37am On Feb 01, 2021
Nigeria does not need any rescue!!! Nigeria needs simple disintegration. Presently, the country has more than three countries patched together by British colonialists. The people of these patched up countries which formed the shithole called Nigeria hate each other from the womb and would kill on a slightest provocation. Outside the womb, the people have no allying culture and tradition. There is absolute no bases for unity. Nothing grows to fruition on pretense. Nigerians are losing serious moments of mutual co-existence by idiotically hanging to the goofy philosophy of One-Nigeria.

In fact, entire northern region of Nigeria was under the native authority of Emirate including Ilorin. People who do not want to accept the reality in Nigeria always fall the crap middle belt. There has never a thing called middle belt region in Nigeria.

OP is still going to lose this bet again. The whole Hausa-Fulani dominant Northern part of the nation is called Hausa land, Nigerians especially Northerners speak Hausa than any other language, most of Northern culture & tradition is Hausa adopted but I've never seen an article called "Hausa colonisation of Nigeria/North"
My father is Fulani and only understand Hausa language and I'm very content and proud of it. Hausa and Fulani are covalently blended, can't be divided by any mere media propaganda.

Coronavirus, there is nothing such as Hausa-Fulani in human nature. It is either you are Hausa or Fulani. It is very hard to ask coronavirus to grow some brains.

There is nothing like 302 artillery brigade,it is 302 artillery regiment and it is commanded by a full colonel not a brigadier general.as of that time, general attahiru was a major gener
Anyway, officer Ibrahim attahiru was promoted to a major general in 2015.as a major general,he will command a division.his first posting was to 82 division as goc.so at what time and point did he command 302 regiment my boy?

Governors Must Build Ruga For Fulani Herdsmen in Their States For Peace To Reign – Prof. Usman Yusuf

In an interview, monitored by our correspondent, the professor of medicine argued that if Sabon Gari towns could be created for Igbo and others in every part of the North, nothing stops the creation of RUGA for the herdsmen in all the states of the federation.

As nationwide discussions continue following the eviction order by the Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to Fulani herdsmen to leave the state’s forests, prominent pro-Fulani voice and former Executive Secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof Usman Yusuf has said, no governor has the power to evict other ethnic group from his state, and that the problem will continue until RUGA is created all over the country to settle Fulani herdsmen.

https://9newsng.com/governors-must-build-ruga-for-fulani-herdsmen-in-their-states-for-peace-to-reign-prof-usman-yusuf/

Can someone tell this fool that certain part of Nigeria would rather have war than to allow Fulani herdsmen occupy any inch of their land. I am happy no country has ever survived second war. If it will take another war to end Nigeria, I say so be it.

Don't be surprised by my question. I just needed an answer to it. I have being noticing this for a while and I intended to draw attention to it from the northerners (especially those from North West).

This question is brought to the fore by the issue of Yoruba/Fulani faceoff days ago. Most of the Northern elders that spoke were Fulani.

1. the governors
2. Emirs
3. Imams

.....and former political officer holders were all Fulani.

More intriguing is the fact that the 2 presidential candidates from north west and east in last general elections were Fulani. And the last president from North, Yaradua is also a Fulani man from northwest (same Katsina with Buhari).

Is it that Hausa are not qualified to rule their own lands or there is something we don't know yet?

Cc:
arrewa, helinues and other northerners good in their political histories should come and enlighten us.

Hausa do not exist anymore as an ethnic group. Even other minority groups in northern region of Nigeria are about to go under. They were captured by Fulani jihadists and subjugated for good. They had opportunity to spring free in 1966 yet they blew the it.
