Guy, you are very far from reality. Just take the fact from a prudent investor. Oguta-Izombe-Awo Omamma axis will be a major player in Imo State cum Igboland.

Orlu should replace Owerri in the hierarchy of things in Imo state in future.

Nobody knows tomorrow. Since 2007, Imo has been having governors who have no soft spot for Orlu. Yet your Owerri can’t dwarf Orlu.

I do not give a ratass if Orlu replaces Owerri today. Most of the governors were from Orlu. With no pun intended, Orji, which a suburb of Owerri, will wipe floor with Orlu.

Wow. If the bill passes in the Democrat held Senate and House of Reps, it would be a huge sigh of relief for many illegals that have been stuck in the system for so long without hope; many of whom can't move forward and partake in the 'American Dream'. And most of them will likely show their appreciation to the Democrats at future polls, if the bill passes.

The so-called "American Dream" has been destroyed.

Aba, Orlu and Umuahia were officially pronounced by Mbakwe government as the industrial hubs of then Imo state due to the numbers of industrial projects and businesses activities in the three places then.

Then enter new Imo state in 1996; a fraction of New Imo state used government instruments and literally killed the industrial hub nomenclature of Orlu by refusing to leave government amenities and institutions in Orlu.
Even the few amenities left later by gov Udenwa in Orlu were later made to rot.

I honestly believed Oguta should replace Orlu in the hierarchy of things in Imo State.

You didn't lie, particularly on the highlighted part. There are so much slum and ghettos in Owerri. Aside Whetheral road which is the only major road in Owerri, because basically Owerri is a one-road TOWNSHIP, most parts of Owerri are in total mess.

The bolded is absolutely far from truth. What happened to Okigwe and Douglas?

What is wrong with being critical of a bad policies of a bad government? Because prominent members from SW formed APC doesn't make the party immune to criticism.

South West is more committed to good governance rather than a party. Besides, am yet to see your gain from your beloved party PDP that you have been praising

The answer to the bolded is nothing. However it is visionary or lack thereof which made a group of people to vote not once but twice the government they now perceived as the generator of bad policies. Any dumbass criticism from southwestern Nigeria against the government of Nigeria led by Buhari is complete hogwash. A person with intellect of a chicken should not pay any mind to such goofy criticisms from deceitful audience.

The only reason you beating around the bush because Owerri has no signature infrastructure to boast with
. When Owerri tunnel was built, I could remember the hype then. Now it has been demolished because it was found to be substandard.

The only group of people who could get tipsy on seeing such crap are people in your class. The site and construct of the tunnel met no engineering criterion. The volume of traffic on the point of the tunnel does not require such infrastructure. The construction left much to desired as no visible drainage system is incorporated. The structural outlook appears like a carpentry work.

The Southeast should be more worried about mass transit infrastructure like rail, gas pipelines and integrated sewage. The entire region is small making it possible to live and work across States if we have high speed trains.

Bro it is unfortunate that ill-educated Nigerians tend to hyperventilate on the sight of flyover which the goons among the governors in Nigeria have noticed that it tickles the fancy of the gullible onlookers. It is all about embezzlement of fund. There is no logical or engineering conclusion to have a flyover sited in some of the cities.

The truth is that despite the focus by the Imo state government in Owerri, it still doesn't even boast of such quality infrastructures in Abakaliki, Awka, Onitsha, Umuahia, Asaba.

Owerri shouldn't be mentioned on the same sentence with such progressive cities

It is equally unfortunate that so-called flyover is a famed infrastructural development among certain Nigerians. I had been in structural construction for long time, the so-called flyover is not one of the criteria for infrastructural development for certain cities. There are top class cities in the world without or minimal tunneled carriageway. Please for sake of posterity, could you list some of the quality infrastructures in Abakaliki, Awka, Onitsha, Umuahia and Asaba?

The point is that Owerri is a mess. Umuahia is alot better than Owerri. Presently Abakaliki, Awka and Asaba are mile ahead of Owerri. The only place I rate Owerri with right now is Aba

If Onicha the only city in Ananmbra State that can be mentioned in the same sentence with Owerri in all ramification had been made the capital, it would have faced the same problems seen in Owerri.

Truth be told and to be fair, Awka is by far well planned and developed than Owerri. Owerri is such a disjointed town littered with bad roads. Even Awka, Abakaliki, Asaba, have all completed flyovers but Owerri is still not able to fix it infrastructures. Owerri looks like a rural area

It is a fact Awka was not an urban town in days of eastern region. At least, Abakaliki and Asaba were in the same neighborhood as Nkalagu. If I recollect correctly, Onicha was the only standard urban city in what became Anambra state.

Hahahaha my earlier comment must have been so painful and bitter for you.

Anambra cities are like London compare to Owerri that is dilapidated, dusty, dirty and smelling just like the rest of Imo state. Anambra is where Imolites run to for greener pasture.

It will take Imo state 200yrs to get to the present level of development in Anambra, assuming Anambra decides to stand and wait for Imo to catch up.

Owerri and Aba are the worst towns in Nigeria. Both towns have the worst roads in Nigeria.

Anambra State does not have more than one city which is Onicha.

2. Can you compare any hotel in Anambra with Rento Hotel?
3. Imo is among the top five Richest State...
4. Oweri beats all Anambra cities hands down in resilience, neatness, comfortability, classy buildings, classy govt. facilities... Imo has great potential than Anambra which is littered with illitrates traders who brag about being billinaires without having concrete evidence..

Anambra State has only one standard urban city which is Onicha.

No, these were young revolutionary minded men with socialist leaning. Major Ademoyega said as much in his book. Major Ifeajuna was infact a fiery Students Union leader at the University of Ibadan who led protests against the school authorities over the closure of an hostel and against the visits of the Queen to Nigeria.
But the coup lacked poor execution outside the North. Nzeogwu was a tactical officer, he did his job well and infact practiced for it for weeks under the guise of routine military practice; the others failed to properly carry out their orders. Their biggest mistake was
1) Not arresting the head of the Army: General Ironsi which allowed him rally against the coupists and also made the North think it was an Ibo coup with no blood shed in the East and no Ibo military or civilian leader killed. IT WAS NOT AN IBO COUP.
2) Unnecessary bloodshed.

For the fact a soldier from northern region of Nigeria remotely thought the coup was Igbo instead of Nigerian army coup shows how divided Nigeria had been before the coup.

Good evening nairalanders, pls i need advise, my counsin sister who is just 22 is demanding to live alone (she wants to move out of her father's house), but her parents disagreed with her decision.

This has brought a whole lot of confusion, because she is very serious with her decision and her parents (especially her mom) is totally against it.

Pls as a sister, what advise can i give to her, should i support her or i should advise her against it? and what are the of dangers living alone as a female?

Modified: My counsin is not a prostitue, I might not entirely know the reason she wants to live alone, but i'm sure her num1 major reason is noise, she is a very calm person who loves being alone, but since they are much in the house she doesn't have such opportuity, pls she's not a hoe, my question is what are the dangers of living alone as a lady?.

In most developed countries at 18 years, parents are itching to kicked you out of the house if you did not initiate to leave on your own.

Igbos should rather explore more strategic cum intellectual ways to exit rather than threatening and wailing.

For your info, many igbos are still enjoying Nigeria as it is. They are indifferent about Biafra or whatever.

Travel wide and see.

Nigeria is a basket of fools. There is no amount of intellectual ways that can make sense in it. Republic of Igboland is an answer not a threat.
