Almost half of my family has gone through commiting suicide but most of us did not suceed. Come to think of it, I think most of us go through it because of one thing which is Self Pity.
But I can give you two good examples of succesfull suicide stories. The first one is my classmate. She is Half Malaysian and half Indonesian. In Malaysia, most Malaysian people would look down on Indonesian people and when they found out that she is mix blooded, they tease her, spit at her, threw stones at her and etc etc. One day she had enough that she hunged herself to death at the School Toilet.

Lets not shed all our tears on these soldiers. We should expect more calamities in the near future so lets save some tears for then.
This is not a curse or bad wish but a fact. With the situation of things in our country, it is bound to happen. If it does not happen on the roads, it will happen near a fuel pipeline. If not there, it will happen through a plane crash. If not there, it will happen in the Niger Delta. If not there, it will be religious, SOMEWHERE, SOMETIME, something is bound to happen.

How sad!! why is it that the good people are the ones dying and the likes of dariye, iyabo, obj, babangida and other born embezzlers are busy forging new hobbies everyday milking the nigerian economy

if they wan waste their time and money, we would make it more worthwhile instead of just wasting the bomb. Yaradua's convoy, Goodluck, Obasanjo, IBB, Annenih, All past ministers, all past presidents, in fact everyone that has come remotely close to Federal or State governance should be bombed into extinction. That go help teach una a lesson make you develop that country and stop stealing and wasting that country.

To understand what drives people to murder themselves (suicide), it may help for us to understand the types of suicide that actually exist. The French Sociologist Emile Durkheim differentiated four types:

1) Egoistic Suicide-in an individual who is not properly integrated into his community/society and who lacks the social ties to keep him going. Seen in widow(er)s, for instance.
2) Altruistic Suicide-in an individual who belives that his death will benefit the larger society. Suicde bombers, for instances.
3) Anomic Suicide-here the individual uses suicide as an escape route from the demands of living. This can be seen following a dramatic change in life fortunes.
4) Fatalistic Suicide-is seen in those individuals who have no hope of change. Said to have been common in the days of Slavery.

The Assessment of Suicide risk is one of the major assignments of Clinicians in societies where there is a high suicide rate. In these societies one of the scales that can be used is the SADPERSONS scale. SADPERSONS is the acronym for some of those factors that Mental Health clinicians associate with an increased risk of Suicide and it stands for the following:

S- sex-men have a higher incidence of completed suicide

A-age-less than 19 or more than 45 years

D-depression with associated feeling of hopelessness increases the chances

P-previous attempt-the more the attempts the greater the chances of success!

E-ethanol/alcohol abuse-higher in individuals who self-medicate with alcohol

R-rational thinking(loss of)-in other words having a psychotic illness increases the chances of suicide

S-separated/divorced or widowed individuals are at a higher risk

O-organised plan. Impulsive suicide attempts, though at times succesful are considered less weighty than when a lot of thought has been given to murdering oneself.

N-no support network

S-stated future intent. In other words the individual expresses a future intention to murder themselves.

What drives one to suicide and not what is the meaning and rudiments of suicide?!

What a waste! No good roads, no fire men or services, no paramedics, no ambulances or helicopters, no good medical services. And to think all these soldiers survived Darfur only to be killed the moment they arrived home - what an irony of life!!! Goodbye heroes.
