My parents and sister submitted their paper application on May 5th.
Sent an email to the accra address, no response.
Submitted a CSE to Lagos immigration on Aug 17, goes a response on Aug 18 that it's still being processed.
I just tracked now and their passports are ready for collection (since Aug 22). They are yet to receive any notification by text message or email, but I told them to go to vfsglobal on Monday.

Hello house grin
Please how do I go about flight itinerary - I mean the provisional airline booking. Been searching for a while now, and I still don't understand.
Do I book a flight, pay and then cancel; or contact a flight booking agency?
I've also checked for reservation options for some airlines but it seems they all require that you pay.

@Khasm Someone once did this in part 6/7, can't remember. Applied for her husband immediately after she got hers, and before leaving Nigeria. That was in 2015, if nothing has changed in that regard, it is possible.
It is not advisable to put in an application for 5 people at once. Your wife can apply for a SOWP to move or visitor visa to visit you.

you're Damn right. I'm one of them but I ain't proud of it. Life here is too busy, trust me. Coupled with time difference. Lots of bills to pay. I tried to keep up with NL when I got here in 2014 but Seneca college showed me pepper. I was working more than I was supposed to cos I be igbo man. Been a relief since I finished my two graduate certificate programs at Seneca last year December . Now we on the hustle of getting a job, thinking about PR, when to visit Naija. I still Salute and respect chrigo and miss bon for their contributions here. The hustle is real here. My email works best for me finestlex@gmail.com

But what about the land? isn't it also important?
How often are teenagers rejected for under graduate?
It's important, but because you are for undergrad, and have a no of siblings, you need more proof of sufficient and available funds.
Have u read thru as montrealer grin asked you to? Does your sponsor have any investment plan (e.g fixed deposit, retirement acct etc), is any of the properties for rent? Try and include every source of funds available.
You may also consider getting a co-sponsor.

Been getting PMs asking about info for medical schools in Canada.
I don't know so much about it, but I think you have to get a canadian degree first before you can think about medical school. Some medical schools accept only canadian citizens or PRs

I'm taking the MPH program and a number of my coursemates intend to get into medical school after they are done with MPH. They would have to write some exams.

Fresh out from a secondary school in Nigeria, it's not possible to get into medical school in Canada **I stand to be corrected** I know ppl doing programs like BSc Nursing Sci in Canada and intend to get into medical school later.

I don't know so much and this topic has not been really discussed on NL, you can check d links below:

I would advice you to beef it a tad bit higher than 12M since you're going for UG. Also get a more buoyant co-sponsor.
Also, as @deedee0 pointed out, having a fixed deposit will work in your favour if your sponsor states that it's solely for your study and it matures in due time.
I think the first thing you need to do is to really think about not refiring anytime too soon. A 3rd denial is not what you need. Take your time to make things right.
Exactly!
Graviton2 I think you should fix the money. Personally I dnt trust NG banks! And can't leave 12M in an account oo! TheBae.. If u laugh there cheesy
Just take your time.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by deedee0: 11:58pm On Aug 20, 2015
I think it depends on the SOA and source of sponsor's income/funds.
Despite the number of dependants, I stated:
Room and Board: 8000 CAD
Others: 5000CAD
Available funds: 61k because there was fixed deposit that will mature at the same time I'm required to pay my tuition, it was easy for my sponsor to state that the fixed deposit will cater for my stay in Canada.
If it isn't a fixed deposit or some other investment plan, dnt state all the money your sponsor has.
If tuition + room + others is about 25k, u can state 28k above as available funds, just make sure your sponsor's documents can meet up

Thanks for the responses. The reason why I am/was undecided is because the other dependent of the sponsor just got a TRV to start her MSc in January. As a result, this case is different from your case. My concern is that the VO might find out the details of my sister (she is in their system, tho my bro will list her name with a Naija address on the family form) and distrust the sponsor. So that's the risk.

The benefit of not stating it is that the VO won't reach a conclusion that my brother is running away with my sister lol. The VO may see her as a tie to Canada if the sponsor states it; this may prejudice his view of my brother's intent. The issue on whether to state it or not has nothing to do with available funds, there's more than enough funds for both.

Do you still stick with the same previous analysis given the distinction I just made?

PS: don't mind my fussing, I can be a perfectionist at times. Thanks smiley
Lol..it's allowed.
You are not getting my point. It's not about sufficient/insufficient funds. I'm only telling you what helped me to decide whether to state my sponsor's dependants or not...My family info form!
And that I also did not dwell much on the issue. Just a simple explanation, either in sponsorship letter or affidavit of sponsorship (or both).
Your sister's documents/application was too tight, I believe you'll pull this off too! Agent FiveEyes grin

I am applying to U of Saskatchewan. Their applications ooen in novemeber. Do you think my life science background in microbiology might cause me to not get the admission? And when you say medical sciences which ones are you referring to?
Don't get me wrong oo, I have a Bsc MCB and I got admission for MPH. I'm just saying u should package yourself well...include Ur IT experience, wrk experience, undergrad statistics courses, virology, epidemiology and co, community/voluntary activities.
Some of the emails I got from schools while I was seeking admission gave me that impression, I'm referring to Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy etc
UoManitoba's application is on and will close this year for sept 2016 intake MPH

Reposting...

Thanks guys/gals for the suggestions.
@teesboy @TheBae @tnuola Based on your previous responses to my initial post, are you guys/gals suggesting the sponsor should not state his number of dependents? Or should he state he has one dependent but not go into any details about the dependent? @Team12 and @hayqinsbFX I also want to hear your thoughts on this smiley. The question is: would the sponsor be opening a potential can of worms if he discusses in his letter his sponsorship of the other dependent (my sister, who is going to Canada in January). Fyi, there is enough money in the account for both.
This statement dd it for me:
*Apart from deedee0, my other financial obligation is the tuition of my other children in Nigeria, which is x million naira

No further details, I didn't state d schools they are attending..and this was in the affidavit of sponsorship. My family info form already shows the no of children.
In d letter of sponsorship..no reference to it at all.
Lool who is the sponsor? Seems you are quite bothered.

Thanks for this response sis. smiley
I'm still not settled on if to state it or not. This form (bottom of page four) says to state it, but it seems not everyone states it.

UW bro smiley
I know of this form, I just showed my sponsor to convince him to release the documents I was asking for.
Every application is case-specific and its your choice. My family info form shows I'm the firstborn and all my siblings are still students. Rather than leave the VO to think my sponsor doesn't have sufficient funds to cater for all of us, we stated a rounded up figure spent on my siblings' education here in Nigeria in the affidavit of sponsorship.
I did this because I examined my profile/application and I felt it was necessary, not because of that form o. I still think it is not necessary in ur brother's case. Examine the application and decide.

And I have this perception that most schools prefer medical sciences BSc to natural sciences for admission into Public health, so package your school applications well. u also need statistics background

Question for the house: my sister is starting her MSc program in January and she already got her TRV, while my brother is yet to apply for his TRV to start a PGD program in January as well. They have the same sponsor with sufficient funds.

Do you guys think it creates a bad impression that my brother is trying to go to Canada at the same time as my sister? I am paranoid that the VO may see it as a desperate attempt to go with my sister. Fyi their schools are 550km apart. Would it look better if he deferred his admission to May (but still apply for TRV in September)?

Abeg I need your opinion please @deedee0 @tnuola @Team12 @teesboy @HayqinsbFX @richcasey @berexio1 @SeraSera, @Graviton2 @TheBae @ayooluwatoni
I think ur bro is good to go, just package his application as tight as your sister's app.
I don't think it's a rule that you must state your dependants as a sponsor. Sponsor can just state the amt he's making available and the reason why he's sponsoring, and the relationship between him/her and the applicant.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I feel if your brother is being sponsored and a sponsor has been established (with evidence of relationship, source of income of the sponsor etc), is it necessary to transfer funds to a new account in your brother's name?
I'm not sure but it might also count as money lodgement. I know U'll explain in his SOP and letter of sponsorship, but ehn..
Just my opinion!
