Inkblood: i suppose you are talking about my previous application, it wasn't a false soa per say. he transferred some money to my account, had the soa printed, and withdrew the money. Yes I'm referring to the previous app. At times CIC holds onto document they probably have an issue with, and it gives a clue. Was the SOA returned? |

Inkblood: Hello guys. thank you for the quick reply. @thesoj. the fixed deposit expires in september while my resumption date is in january, but i will just ask my dad to liquidate it. @deedee0 my dad is my co-sponsor, and i am my own sponsor. i have abt 6m for the cause, which in addition to my dad's 3m gives a total of 9m. it is well over the fees and estimated expenditures. my dad is a retired military man, i am currently employed. will list my docs in my next post. thanks for the concern The Detective in me just went through your posts.. That your agent no try o Include your dad's house documents in your next app. Also go through tnuola posts for the 'TRV chopping documents', download and read. It will help you gather documents for your next application When you pick up your documents, was the false SOA returned (assuming u submitted paper route) |

Inkblood.. If your dad is a cosponsor, you can present the FD cert instead of liquidating, and include employment details/his source of income Provide more info abt ur documents/application.. What reasons were given for refusal? Who is your main sponsor? **Modified The Detective in me just went through your posts.. Pcachuks Ahyotomiwa Sending a mail or case enquiry doesn't result in automatic refusal. I sent a case enquiry and explained that the deadline to pay some unrefundable fees to my school was fast approaching. Someone I know was downright rude and insultive in her mails to cic and she still got her TRV. I will advise to be patient, just wait it out. Sending a mail/case enquiry might increase your anxiety/worry. |

Omonjoe: Gud morni all.... In the sponsorship letter, would it be better the sponsor states the amount he will be making available in Canadian dollars instead of naira since one does not know the exchange rate the VOs are working with. The sponsor's SOA is in naira. State in both, and indicate what you used as exchange rate. |

eetti: Union bank charged my friend $1CAD = 166 two months ago. When the official rate was 157 and GTB charged 173 ,while Zenith charged 194 though Wire transfer i.e with the use of Form A. morgan2006..I will not advise you to use the banks listed above oo. Union 162 to 1CAD last week for Form A Diamond charges 153 to 1CAD for Form A, and it has been quite consistent |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by deedee0: 12:30pm On Aug 05, 2015 |
TheBae: Actually there's a thread where you can see more details on banks and their rates. Stanbic and Diamond have had the best rates for months but right now, Standard Chartered and Diamond have the best rates as of today. I'll advise you open one of those because they're quite consistent. Because if you calculate it, you'll be losing money unnecessarily Yh..I got some info when I searched, but there's no info about UBA and Ecobank. It seems I will eventually take your advice and open an acct with Diamond. I just want to know if UBA and Eco can be useful |

Pinkygrace: Maybe there is something wrong somewhere, I used my GTB card yesterday in the UK was charged N420, diamond has not sent me alert since yesterday that I withdraw and that bank called UBA na only God go save them Please, what's your experience with UBA? |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by deedee0: 9:46am On Aug 05, 2015 |
TheBae: I'm going to stick to Diamond and Stanbic though. Gtb will only be if those 2 have issues cos their rates are too unfriendly. Unfortunately Stanbic USD went up to N207 just yesterday after being on N199 for a long time Enough of the derailing sha. Thanks for your concern I don't think its derailing the thread oo, as upkeep is inportant. I don't want to open a new bank account. I use Ecobank and UBA. Ecobank recently started selling PTA. As for ATM charges, the customer service rep I just spoke to obviously doesn't have a clue; she actually said there are no ATM withdrawal charges outside Nigeria. I asked another rep, he said there are charges, he doesn't know the exact charge. I will go to another branch. Any info on Ecobank and UBA will be appreciated |

UK is toooo easy, wonder why people still use agent for UK! But as there are no policies that encourage staying back after study, I'll rather do the stressful Canada |

Sjvictor21: Hello folks,
Good morning to you all.
I wanted to ask if there is anybody on this page that got any form of scholarship to do MPH in Canada either partial or full funding? with what i'm hearing, and what @topebamidele said earlier, looks like it is nearly impossible to get any for MPH. Please my people help?
Thanks. Getting funding for MPH is very rare! After you are admitted, you may be able to apply to General scholarships, open to all graduate students in the school, it's usually small money, and doesn't qualify as funding. Some schools might give internship (practicum) stipends, also small. You can also get TA (Teaching Assistant) jobs, if your profile is powerful Well, I can't say generally cos it depends on the school. UBC gives partial funding, but you need to have good GRE scores to apply to MPH. **verify this info on UBC's website, I checked two yrs ago, and crossed it off my list because of GRE. If funding is a really important factor, maybe you should apply for an MSc Course (Health Sci, Community Health etc). It's thesis-based and you need to get a potential supervisor, who can avail funding. |

favour0011: My dear... I've always known it's a wrong tin to do... but I usually see on here that people write sponsors letter on their letter head... just didn't occur to me that it must hv been written on the sponsors personal company letterhead. My bad! quote author=tnuola post=36511084]
Lol.. Like seriously you shouldn't even ask this kinda question o, your sponsor is too correct. He doesn't own the company and you want him to write the sponsorship or personal letter on the letter head of a company he doesn't own? Biko type suntin on a plain sheet of paper.
You might not know but its more like fraud. I did not use letterhead. After 'Yours faithfully' and his name, I included his organisational email address and phone number. |

SeraSera: Hi, thanks again for the form A info. Using diamond bank, I was able to make tuition payments at the rate of 153 naira to the CAD, which was much better than I had hoped for. I was wondering, how long did it take between the time the transaction was completed at your bank and the time the funds were received by your institution? About 4 working days... It's usually within a week. I notified my institution about the payment so they can identify it's from me. When did you pay? |

Omonjoe: I merged my docs into a file and d file was 4.19MB in MS word, when I converted the file to pdf using doPDF software, the file size was 21.9MB. I tried using the method in richcasey's link to reduce the file, it does reduced the file to 4.12MB but the problem is that the documents are very blurred. Pls who knows a best way to reduce file and also retain or nt affect much the legibility of the docs Instead of using the software, use Save As in Ms-Word, in the pop up box, choose to save as pdf file instead of doc. |
