Hello guys, the idea behind "Meeting and Greeting" is for us to "cap" or "finish" the year together with merriment and banters. If 20th December was no longer feasible, there are still 11 other days in December before the year ends. In my little understanding, the "meet and greet" is actually an "end-of-the-year" get-together for thread members and fans. Why would we be having a "meet and greet" in January, three weeks into the new year? And on a Thursday too? How about those of us that will be at work? How about drivers that would be on the road trying to meet their targets? Do we honestly think a driver under rental will be able to spare 2 hours for food and banter on a Thursday afternoon in January (winter month)? And are we thinking about the restaurant? I know Aunty RadAutoWorks is nice, but I'm sure she wouldn't be pleased with the potential disruption to her business when 30 or so Uber drivers and fans show between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm on a Thursday afternoon, merrying, bantering and drinking alcohol.

I would suggest we chose another date in December. Aunty RadAutoWorks has graciously granted us the use of her restaurant, so Sunday, 27th December is another good date. This is surge season for e-hailing drivers. Any driver will find it easy to unwind for an hour or two and then hit the roads back, confident that he will still exceed his target for the day.

- If you drive full time, then you will know that Thursday afternoon is one of the best periods a driver can afford to spare, and anytime on a Saturday/Sunday is a No No

- Don't be sure on her behalf Let her say so if it is so

- Drinking alcohol? What difference would their presence make if it is water they're drinking. This is stigmatization

My opinion too, The last day of year 2020 is a Thursday, what's better than capping the year off on the last day

I think you need to thread with caution. Be a little bit more patient, even with difficult customers. Uber has already shut you out permanently. What will happen if Bolt does the same?

From popular demand, and suggestions garnered through all channels, I am here to inform y'all that the get together has been Postponed to Thursday, January 21st, 2021. The Venue still remained Jamrock Cuisine, lekki -Epe expressway after Elaganza bus stop when coming from the Mainland.

The shift of date was necessitated because of activities lined up for almost everyone of us taking cognizance of persons traveling this week and the wedding ceremony of one of us (Bishop). And again, the thirst for surge cannot be dampened whatsoever.

The organisers pleadingly seek everyone's advantage before this conclusion was reached and we together we can do to this.

The account is still open and the fee for food alone is 1,800. Please pay up so we can all do things together.

Hoping this meets you well.... We move!

Sunday 20th, December 2020 [/b]has been agreed as the date and the event will take place at [b]Jamrock Cuisine and the time is 12 - 5pm

The restaurant has agreed to provide a space for us with a shade but this depend on how many person will be showing up. We have earmarked 30 persons.

Base on popular demand, we have included alcoholic beverage to the menu (One of us here is being very generous and has assured us of providing drinks to go round) so for the food, the restaurant is charging 1,800 per plate of "round the island". It's a sampler plate that has a little off everything. Rice, Curry chicken, brown stew Turkey, curry goat, oxtail, rice and peas, fried rice, veggies and plantain.

We recognize Sundays are always one of the days to look forward to as an ehailing operator, therefore, we urge not everyone to stay till the end of the get together, you can stay, unwind and leave for the harvest is ripe.

Therefore, we urge everyone to pay up on time so we can get this over with.

Suggestions as to the going forward of this event will be entertained.

I dig boss, just saying on uber don't wait for transfer more than 24 hrs again, report if you get ur money back from uber, let the rider goan sought his/her self out with them, transfer should never b an option in the first place.

So, I might not be as popular as Tojahh or anybody else on this thread to canvas for votes but i did this hustle for some months and i got my hands burnt severely, so I think i can chip in few Do's & Dont's Uber Drivers should adhere to while using Ehailing to earn a living.

Drivers should have a work- route plan rather than driving round and round like a lost child whose bread was snatched.
There are places, you take a trip to and return trip with a good pricing is guaranteed, while places like Alagbole, Meiran, Akute and Satellite town are journeys of no return.

Drivers should take their health seriously, eat at least 2 square meals, drink enough water, take multivitamins and have physical exercise & cleanliness.

Every driver should learn a thing or two about his/her car components and do daily routine checks.

Every Driver should learn to save for rainy days with at least 2k out of their daily earnings put aside. It really helps.
Obey traffic laws, ask riders how to navigate their routes if you haven't been to that area.
Stop carrying more than one fellow in your car when it's past 6pm. I know evil people abound everywhere, all day, but most of the sad stories we've read were from night crawlers.

Drivers should stop buying 1000 naira fuel all the time .. E dey spoil fuel pump

Drivers should stop doing Fast & Furious on Lekki Epe Expressway to please their riders... No go do pass yourself... If Gbege happen, rider go japa leave you to your fate.

Drivers should drop in on the Uber drivers thread, there are a lot of comic relief to make them forget their bad day ... Angryigboman is a household name. He will make you laugh off your bad day.

Don't be too fixated on your phone while driving.

As regards the date..

From my findings with Jamrock Cuisine, they said they don't work on sundays but if we want to be there on Sunday, then provision will be made.

I know Sunday is a very busy day for most of us here, likewise Monday too. But the committee was looking at Sunday 20th December, 2020. 12-3pm, its just a meet and greet event, so that people staying far can drive back in light and safe.


P.S This event will be devoid of alcoholic beverages since majority of us here will be driving.
