If it's a tokunbo car, in Nigeria parlance, who is referring to an oyinbo driving it. I mean they also abuse engines too.
Let me spell it out for you. A tokunbo big daddy that was bought some days earlier.
Dude brought it to the mech workshop, car was having issues. No number plates, means it has not been registered...
Car was smoking. Even the humming was not too cool. And he bought it direct.
Even a blind man knows this vehicle came straight from the port. Na one way traffic man, anywhere belle face. Him no go gree |

There's nothing wrong with using Mineral oils sir.
But you're making it look like it has some advantage over the Synthetic oil.
As a guy that drives, has driven on Uber, and deals on parts, the mineral has no advantage over the Synthetic
But it still is okay bro No not at all. I just explained to him that we cannot be following instructions blindly, that there are some exceptions then I used my case as an example. How can my engine be consuming oil and I'll still be using expensive oil just because manufacturer says so |

izzou: Not trying to delve into you and Dru's talk, but using Synthetic oil is more cost efficient than the mineral oil.
You don't need to top up every 1000 miles with a Synthetic oil
Did you consider that too?
Anyway, I'm enjoying the debate bro Engine was burning oil, the first time I serviced it I used 5w30 synthetic, but before the week ran out it was already at the low guage of the dipstick so I had to keep topping. Next service I switched to 20w50 and it happened to be one of the best decisions i've taken in my life I was expecting engine to pack up in approx 6 months later but to the glory of God I'm still travelling upandan with that engine. If my engine doesn't dry oil I would surely use 5w30 synthetic but for this situation? I pass |

Felicity0001: I tire ooh (to the bold)
People need to understand this is business and not pleasure or it's relatives. Periodic maintenance of vehicles is the most important aspect in automobiles especially when it comes to transportation. So it will be more prudent to apply the best and minimal cost practices because there is a huge difference btw transportation and personal usage.
. Maybe a little mathematics will convince him. I top up with 1 ltr of oil aprox. every 1000 miles. Difference btw mobil 1 synthetic 1 ltr and sharlu 20w50 1 ltr is around 3k so i save 3000 on each top up. Engine has covered over 100, 000 miles, that means I've topped up around 100 times. 3000 x 100 times That's 300,000 saved (and still counting) Now oga dru23 if I have been putting that money in a safe, I can go and buy another engine now, and the old one is still working perfectly. Do you understand now? What they teach you in school is always different from what experience will teach you in real life |

dru23: Do u ever ask yourself why we import so many car engine into Nigeria.. The rate car engine is been imported into the country, is very alarming..............
The demand for engine outweighs the supply... think about .......... It's not only engine we import in high numbers, we import every parts in high numbers so why single out only engine? And number 1 cause of engine overhaul is not the use of 20w50, it's because people don't service their engines when they're supposed to. For the bolded, enter ladipo first then come back to delete it |

samobaba4u: Na him get him belle and him say him no hungry wetin again? Let d next user battle it when the time comes now átóńbùrú he said he had saved enough money from oil more that the amount to buy another engine. The engine finally gave up o ... he now sold it .. It is now a new car to the next sucker ........
So car running like new is very relative to different people .. This is why car engine is a big market in Nigeria... Nigerias change engine like the change lane on the road So if you use 5w30, the engine will last forever? |

Bros if you can use a car for 3 years doing ehailing and it still runs like new, i don't know what else you want. You can't use your car forever |

Crvrider: I guess its different strokes for different folks. Staying put has always been my mode of operation and it works well for me. I stay put too. On indriver the proximity is way wider than that of bolt. Some riders even overlook drivers that are few minutes away and pick one that is faraway because they're not ready. It has happened to me before several times so it's not always by being the closest to a request |

dru23: Me I avoid them based on the following...
2. The ones that believe using water instead of coolant.
4. The 20w50 oil crew.. The ones that will tell you it is ok to use as long as you change oil every 2k to 3K miles .
8. The ones that will drawn you a graph of ambient tempt . and explain to you that W stands for winter . And we have no winter in Nigeria and there is no need to use the recommended 5w30 .. That 15w30 is what we should be using There are some things that we overhype when it comes to car maintenance. This one no be say dem say, it's my experience of almost 3 years and counting. I said it here almost 3 years ago. I've been using 20w50 because my engine was already burning oil when I bought it so I switched to the cheapest good oil and save up oil money to get another engine, sharlu for that matter for close to 3 years, my engine is still quiet and going strong. I travel almost 2 to 3 times every week on a norms. I just make sure I change as at when dueI've been using water too, I'm not saying coolant is not good but it's not like if you use water heaven will fall. See how much I would have lost if I have been using mobil 1, topping up with 1 ltr 1000 miles or less. I've done over 100,000 miles now and engine has not died, I've saved on oil more than I would use to buy another engine So this thing is just to apply common sense, and not to follow every instructions blindly. |

Gogettaz: BOLT RATING; MY EXPERIENCE
Note this is based on personal experience. While I will try to make you understand my numbers, I will NOT use exact figures. (E get Y)
I drove last in November 2020, resumed driving this January and only driven for 5 days. My overall completed trips within these days are less than 50 which is about 60% of all incoming requests. Now during these 5 days my rating has changed 3 times. I mean it 3 times. Hence I wonder why the frequent change in the current rating?
My position: Bolt has changed their algorithm to punish drivers that select trips. Think about it; drivers can now see rider destination and have the luxury of selecting which trip to honor. So as a way to force you to accept and complete almost all trips, they make you aware of account BLOCKAGE. Who wants that?
Proposed solution: Instead of arguing for hours on end could we try and decipher the code behind driver rating? Let us check parameters that might be embedded in their execution.
Come forward if your activity score is less than 85% and your current rating is greater than 4.85 stars.
If there accounts with the above characteristics then my bias is FALSE.
