God bless you for helping the driver out, most riders will abandon driver when any slight challenge arises. The day I carried oride, LG touts stopped him and he wasn't with one of the documents they asked for so they removed his key. I sat there on the bike while rider was trying to sort it out with them. The touts did their best to make me come down so they could take the bike to their compound but I stood my ground and that saved the rider that day.

I don't think you guys are hearing us. We don't have a problem if you want to cherry pick. Just don't do it after signing a contract that addressed the exact situation. Nigerians will be told the conditions of a deal and will accept with the midset of re-negotiating after service or adhering only to the portions they like. That's why before we do anything work customer must sign estimate or email acceptance of estimate. One company did and still came back when payment was requested telling my staff they will be by to negotiate the bill. I hope you can say that again if one of the killed drivers were to be someone dear to you, how can you compare our job with yours? Is there anything life threatening in your line of work? Drivers died because they went by the rules and didn't ask for/ couldn't reject trips to destinations they shouldn't have and you expect us not to learn from that all because of Ts and Cs.

I've carried uber staffs before and I asked for destination not even knowing they were staff, yet they didn't block me because my way of approach didn't warrant being blocked so I dont know why y'all are fighting the fight for uber, leave them let them chase us from their platforms if they're not satisfied with our level of professionalism, it's not in riders place to tell me to find another platform, is it ya platform?

People use fake names to register on Uber. I have picked riders with names like Jesus, Olokpa, etc... If this person commits a crime, how can Uber help in tracking him when they don't have a photo, no address, no ID and a phone number with rubbish details

take you car round lagos and offer people rides and see how many will enter

or let me put it a different way

there are a lot of independent fuel marketers out there.
the moment an independent partners with a major marketer, brands in the marketers colours, his sales can go up by 50 - 70%
that is the strength of the brand
what brand do you have?
do you have anything that would bring a rider to you?
or you think the sole factor between uber and yellow cabs is price?

why do you think uber insists on AC, and that your car is in good condition and not below a certain age

because that is part of their brand

See the number of offline contacts I have. More than 51 and counting, I removed "OFF" from the names of some that now have very close relationships with me. This should shut you up... at least for now

They also added the "share your location" thingie for drivers & riders

Bolt now asks drivers to ask for destination as from 9pm I think, but what about long trips that would start around 5pm but because of traffic end around 10pm in a very unsafe environment. That's why the rules have to be bent

That sos button thingy won't do much, because you may not even have access to your phone during an attack, best bet is to avoid it when you can

Funny enough Nigeria is not even uber's biggest African market.. So losing Nigerian market is not a big deal to them in my opinion .. Egypt is the biggest market for them and Some other African countries .. Those market are more important to them than Nigeria.. The only thing here is that uber is trying to get a strong grip ahead of everybody else regardless if the market is big or not ..more like a monopoly control.. We can agree to disagree at the sametime

Yea I know about those set of people. I select people based on the prompting I get from within. You 100% correct though I have never had any issues with people transferring to me. Almost 7 days ago I dropped a guy at the airport and his fare was 4600 he said his banking app was giving him issues. So I told him to go that I'll send my account number to him. The next day I got an alert of 5500.

I am selective based on the voice inside prompting me.
So yes may God not allow me meet people that will make me change my mind about transfers

By the way, a thought just occurred to me. Let's organize a day and get to know ourselves in person at either the beach or somewhere. I mean the guys on this forum. Those in lagos o. Like a get together.

You are your own boss, start your taxi company. Some of the people here 'who are not uber' have their own fledgling companies and are hear to gain insights.

Eateries, major petrol stations, supermarkets, are all partnerships between a big company and a dealer. The company provides support and infrastructure, the dealer sells the companies goods and acts within their policies.

The dealer is also his own 'boss'. But in most cases the corporation calls the shots

Uber has the upper hand. There are far more people willing to become riders at even more stringent conditions

If you wish to go on break to relax your muscles and still earn while doing so, you can take it then. If you hustle in Lagos for a week your net after fuel will only be slightly above that.

The moment I notify you I won't be able to take the trip, I'll politely ask you to cancel just to save your time. If you insist I cancel it will only take me 5 minutes of my plenty time.. and your little time
