I do not support restruturing the country but total disintegration!
We share nothing in common. Our language, culture and traditions are different. The country is a failed british experiment.
Let us go our separate ways!!!

izombie:
the you people reason sometime baffles me. Igbo people are the majority of people who are on the streets. So because a few people who are enjoying nigeria's money by holding political offices do not speak, the millions who are suffering should keep quiet abi? Nnamdi kanu that spoke out an continues to do so, you people have called him all sorts of names. The millions of igbos who struggle daily are fed up with one Nigeria. Yes, the ones that only have to use a papa port to import or export goods just because the other port that is closest to them is not working because its close to them. The one whose federal roads are death traps because its in their region. The ones who on their way to their region will be harassed by the police and custom an the army. The one who have to get the highest of scores to be admitted to the university. Etc. Let me ask you. Bihari is able to go to London hospital to treat himself, how many nigerians can do that? Please spare me the leaders bullllshiiit. If you think your people who hold political office give a damn about you then you must be a fool. For the record, igbos at just tired of being in one country with the Hausa fulani.
Gibberish!! How do you intend to have biafra if your leaders do not help you fight for it? How do you disintegrate from a country peacefully without referendum which only your leaders can provide for you? If the leaders you vote for are against nigeria separation, then why do you vote them in? Why not vote for ipobs or massob or whatever?
I will keep saying it that you guys are confused about what you truely want.
SMH!!!

Igbos are free to have their own country. Nobody is stopping them. Why are their leaders keeping silent about this biafra issue? If the igbos want biafra, they should protest against their leaders who have chosen to keep silent.

Let nigeria have referendum in its constitution. We should stop deceiving ourselves about "unity"

Please disregard those our representatives in the FG.
lols! All your replies simply means you all are confused. You look for who to blame all the time without checking yourselves. I asked you a simpke question but you chose to ignore. You will not blame your leaders for not fighting for referendum but will blame yoruba people for wanting to "stop biafra". This shows that you guys are clueless.

Yes we are confused. Until we know what we truly want we must remain a torn in your flesh till the igbo genocide you guys are threatening us with.
Remain torn in whoose flesh? It is your people that are flighting for a separate country not mine. I support a separated nigeria but i you cannot see me blame people for why we havent separated yet. Before you blame yoruba people wht not ask yourself why your leaders have all chosen to keep silent. Are they not aware of your cries for an independent country? So why are most of them keeping silent? Yorubas are not against biafra in anyway but i dont know about the notherners because those are the people you should blame. You igbos are really confused about what you want

We want biafra, we want lagos seaport. We need it to continue to import substandard goods for the consumption of the cesspit. We know you produce nothing, not even a toothpick. We shall continue to be a torn in your flesh till you grab some balls and bite back. grin grin
If you want all, then why do you accuse yoruba of resisting biafra? You guys are really confused about what you truely want.

When you eventually get Biafra and you are confronted by the same or similar problems to the ones you are currently facing what would you do, divide it further?
Baba i am yoruba but why do yoruba not want to leave nigeria? What are we benefiting from this country?
PoliticsRe: Igbos' unfair blame Of Yorubas For the Failure Of the Biafran Experiment . by deedeedee1:
Though yoruba people are not against biafra, but yoruba people are also not ready to leave this country. Out of 10 yoruba people you sample, less than 2 will support the disintegration of the coutry while 8 will be against it. We have not even made attempt to leave this country before. Why do a lot of yoruba people resist disintegration of this country? They will always try to justify why the country should exist. You hear things like....america is diverse, there is strength in diversity, nigeria population is strength, blah blah blah. A lot of people in my family are not excluded.
I am yoruba but must speak the truth that the yoruba people are the least prepared for separation.
The igbos should better leave yorubas alone because yorubas are not ready and might never be.

AnonyNymous:
Epe is full of Ijebus. I am Ijebu and I am Yoruba. Lagos is as much as Yoruba land as the other states you mentioned, the only reason why it is populated with other tribes at the level it is is because it is the Economic Capital of Nigeria, and it was once the Administrative capital of Nigeria where the federal government was based.

Nairaland is just full of bigots, but I guess people are revealing their true nature/hidden thoughts here. And its sad. In real life, I have lots of Igbo friends and these issues don't even come up, we live in harmony together like nothing's wrong. I only have one friend that has ever spoken about Biafra with me, and he's an IPOB member. We made the mutual agreement not to talk about politics. Why is it only when it comes to arguing about politics that you see people descend to the lowest of lows and call each other unspeakable names? Its a shame that we have allowed the elite to divide us this way. And funny enough, if Nigeria were a working country, if everything was going fine in Nigeria I bet you there'd be NO SUCH THING as secession agitations from any tribe. Most if these cries for secession arise from the fact that things are not going as they should be. Secession is not the answer, but a total restructuring of this country and a reevaluation of our political system. China did it- and it took them just 20 years after doing it to lift 600 million people out of poverty. Fastforward to 2017 and they've created their first completely Made In China aeroplane. And China is far more diverse than Nigeria. I know a little Mandarin but the difference between a Mandarin speaker and a Cantonese speaker is like the difference between French and Spanish, it is very, very different. China was made up of several tiny city states before it was united under Mao. So stop blaming Lord Lugard. He has played his part in history. Italy as well was once referred to as a mere 'geographical expression'. Study your history and you'll know the vast difference in culture between a man from Venice or Florence, or someone from Rome. But yet they've somehow managed to make their country work.

However, I am but one voice and my opinion is nothing more than a grain of sand at a beach compared to the numerous cries for secession that have gained national attention. If we really think secession is the way forward, then push for it. We don't know the power of the masses. Instead of bickering among yourselves, actually take actions. The IPOB members who come here to rain insults at everyone who has a differing opinion makes my stomach churn. Any observer will know that the IPOB members on here have an ego button that just needs to be stroked and they sing your praises to the high heavens. The last time Buhari was sick, the Acting President Osinbajo was praised and celebrated by these people, but the moment he made a speech contrary to their opinion they called him all sorts of unspeakable names. Really. What did you expect the President of Nigeria to say? That the country that he has been entrusted to govern should break up?? Sadly enough, many of them did not even read the speech. They did not read about his call for restructuring, or his call for the reevaluation of how things are dine in this country. They read the headlines and proceeded to attack him.

Sowore's article spoke about how the Nigerian youth on social media were a disappointment to him. He spoke of how he didn't see the fire within the youths to make a change. Like I said, the masses are the ones with power. Instead of making all threads in the political section about af*nja vs IPOB, the youths should be engaging in constructive debates and discussions on what to do and how to move forward. Threads should be created to battle all differences and reach a compromise- then push for the way forward. How many of you have ever written a letter to the senator representing you? How many of us have ever actually commuted to furthering any political cause? Ranting and insulting each other on social media does not change the fact that the elite of the society are getting fatter on our collective resources.
The power to change this country for good is in our hands and we don't even know it. We have seen how Nigerians have been able to rally round to generate resources for a cause. For example the #SaveMayowa saga. Why do we waste our energy fighting amongst ourselves when we can do the same to keep our elected officials on their feet? A country only gets the leaders it deserves. The indolence and ignorance of we youths has resulted into us getting leaders who take advantage of us.

But well, what do I know?
China did it because it is dominated by the han chinese. You cant compare such country with nigeria, a country with 300 ethnic groups.

Op well done. It is only on nairaland i see people accusing Yoruba of going against Biafra. I will keep saying it that i have not seen any Yoruba in real life go against it! Even some Yoruba leaders are even coming out to support their cause. The truth is everybody is tired of the country but we all deceive ourselves about a better Nigeria(even though the day will never come).
Yoruba people just like me support the total disintegration of this shitty thing called Nigeria.

You cannot eradicate tribalism in a country like Nigeria. Let us all go our separate ways. All these noise about investing most in Nigeria are all stories. When we disintegrate, you can invest fully in your respective nations. For now, it should all be about separating this country peacefully without any loss of life.

PoliticsRe: Marginalisation: Ekweremadu, Obi, Soludo, Others To Meet by deedeedee1: 7:56am On May 25, 2017
The igbo leaders should fight for referendum. I doubt that ekweremadu will do that though.
I keep asking myself this question, how can a country like nigeria not have referendum in its constitution? How can a people of over 180 million keep deceiving themselves about unity that never existed? I am a yoruba man and i say let us split. Even if into at least three countries. It will reduce tribalism and increase productivity.

The igbo people should be allowed to go since they believe that they can stand on their own. It is high time these "One Nigerians" understand that Nigeria will never move forward. The country was created by the whites not by our ancestors. The country is not working and will never work.

So everybody in Nigeria should become a farmer?
