1. A little secret about Ivory Coast ,Benin ,Togo....they are all heavily subsidized by France.

2.Here is why we got rid of the old regions
a) Minority tribes were being run roughshod over by majority tribes. That is even a big part of the reason why your Biafra collapsed.
b) Even in regions where one tribe dominates...like Western region....everyone and his father could not agree completely.
c)Accountabbility? Corruption was just as bad under the old regional system. Go and read Nzeogwu's coup speech...especially the bit where he refers to ten-percenters.
d)Bad policemen? Under the old regional system we had the Native Authority Police...whose job most of the time was to opress citizens for 'taxes' . And crisis...they were just poor in controlling crisis. See the Tiv riots of 1964....where the Army had to take over from the regional police.
And the pogroms of 1966 were made easier by the fact that the Police was regionalised. There is a very good reason why we have a federal police.....
e)Religious riots a thing of the past? Sorry....but not going to happen. Same thing with FUlani herdsmen...they were roaming around the country long before there was even a Nigeria.Reason why you do not hear of clashes in the past was because the population was smaller then (1963 census: 55million Nigerians. 2006 : 120million Nigerians. And the land no dey get bigger).

Nigeria's problem is not division. Nigeria's problem is that people want to share money. And they are ready to fight over it. Which in my mind is what is driving all this secession things...as well as the Boko haram, religious, etc crisis. We are a lazy people. We want to eat money. And if we don't get our money we will fight....together or apart.

I don't begrudge Igbos fighting for Biafra.....but I don't support it because the same bad Naija spirit will follow you into Biafra.In other words....it won't solve your problems. There. I have said it. Call me names...but I have said it. Sort that corrupt Naija heart issue out. And start by ending support for people who steal your money today....and then claim persecultion when they are caught. Same goes for other parts of obodo Nigeria.

Nigeria is just too big to manage as one country, look at Europe, some countries are not even up to 3 million in population and they are doing quite well.

That is a lie! Corruption exist because of ethnic difference. We are not patriotic to the country but to our ethnicities. For a country to eliminate corruption, they must have patriotic citizens. The way yoruba people will fight corruption in nigeria will be totally different from that of an oodua country. Patriotism comes from within. It is something from the mind. When yoruba split, we wont bother to fight corruption again since no leader can be able to use ethnicity to perpetrate. The black man is not the problem, it is the system created by the whites that has left us underdeveloped. If japan, china, and south korea were as diverse like most african countries, they will be as poor as we are today.

The whole aviation ministry was crawling with Yorubas, with blatant disregard to the federal character principle, the only way Stella could correct the anomaly was sacking the Yorubas and handing them the normal quota they should have all things being equal.
Igbos were under represented in the ministry and Stella amended this by appointing qualified Igbos to fill the Normal Igbo quota, that she created by sacking excess Yorubas that took up those spaces.

Of course, it didn't seat well with Yorubas.

I dont know if this is how all igbos in real life are, but if they are like this, then i say sorry for them. One of them was blaming yoruba for why they have not had biafra. The igbo guy believes that yoruba are the ones stopping them from having biafra even though the number of yoruba leader that have come out to support biafra are more than the igbo's.

Madam, i am not igbo but Yoruba! Osinbajo in power will not add anything to our lives. Instead of all this ethnic superiorty, why not we split and rule ourselves. Just today, i heard an igbo man saying that after buhari's turn, power should be transferred to the them. Is this how a country should be? Should everything be about ethnic sentiments? Nigeria can never move forward at all because we are too diverse. Since we cannot stop all these ethnic sentiments, why cant we just go our separate ways? What have you benefited in nigeria? Is it poor power supply,health care, educational system, or population?

Instead of the igbos crying everywhere, why not hold your leaders responsible? You can not leave nigeria peacefully without referendum which only your leaders can get for you if they are focus and determined. I support the disintegration of this country but it can only be achieved through your leaders. And if they do not support your cause, why not reject them in the poll and support an ipob or massob member. Be rest assured that these ones will fight for referendum.
The main focus now should be how to include referendum into the constitution.

This is what these people should do. Call all your leaders and tell them to fight with you to achieve a biafra country.

You have not replied me yet. How many of your leaders have come out to support biafra? Why are they keeping silent? The only way you can leave this country peacefully is by having referendum but how many of your leaders have fought for it or are fighting for it? This country sha need to separate. I wish many Yoruba people support it, but i hardly see any. Just look at nigeria, there is no future for this country. Like the igbos and the niger deltans, we also have leaders who due to greed, will want the country to still exist. We need to leave this country not for us but for the generations to come. A separate yoruba republic will do far much better than nigeria. Even if we do bad, we will still be able to provide at least 20hours electricity, good roads, massive employment for the youths through indigenous industries, better education system, better health care system. We will not be bothered about other ethnic groups and their hate since we no longer share the same country. I am also certain that corruption will eradicated. This is because there will be nothing like ethnic sentiments, so no leader will be allowed to steal money without being punished. Since we all have a common goal and enemy.

Mind you as a yoruba, i see a reason why nigeria should exist. I dont think nigeria will ever move forward until we disintegrate into different countries. The country was created by the Europeans and before they came, we had our own unique language, culture, traditions and way of life. No sensible person should justify why a country with 300 ethnic group should still exist. There is no benefit in a country with such diversity. If the igbos want to leave nigeria, they should not vote these kind of leaders again, but vote for people that support cause.

Yesterday i told an igbo guy here on nairaland that they should stop blaming yoruba people for why they have not had biafra. They should blame their leaders and not omoluabis. If they want biafra, then they should put pressure on these leaders. There is simply no way you can get referendum unless your leaders fight for it. I doubt any yoruba lawmaker will resist their cause but i dont know about the northerners.
