FlowerGirl040: It is a private hospital I do use, very close to my house and the nurse has been our family nurse for years now. She works in the hospital. In fact she is the overall senior nurse there. Though doctor himself checked my tummy and said my LMP should be march and not February. Something me myself I am sure is early February fa because I marked it.
You mean the thick whitish discharge is show?? (without blood tho) This is story of my life(Itan ayemi). Exactly my story. My LMP was Feb 15 but the doctors said it should be march not Feb. Even when I went to morokay(one of best scan center) in ibadan, the oyinbo Man was confused... He told me same thing my oby/gyn said. By LMP I am 37 weeks but by scan I am 35+ weeks. Although, on my last appointment day, my doctor told me I should start preparing for delivery from November as FTM to be. Me self get small bump till I was 7 months but it has grown a bit now... But u had think I am around 5 months pregnancy. I was 22 weeks gone when I did my traditional/ court wedding and none of my friends and some family members could tell that I am pregnant...when I told one of my friend, she was like I am joking abi... Anyways, small bump/ big bump, our prayers are that on the d-day, it should end in praises. |

Fertilady: What I am saying is that when someone has gotten a positive from a blood pregnancy test, scan can never say otherwise. Having fibroids will not make one have a positive blood pregnancy test. Yes, confirmatory pregnancy test is with blood. Doing a scan is to check for other issues like I said earlier. Scan is to confirm if the pregnancy is viable. Not really to confirm if one is pregnant I am not a medical doctor but I think I have some real and true say on this ma'am. The best and I guess the only or let me say the best confirmatory positive pregnant test is through ultrasound scan. The mum that said is right after all. Our last wife is a medical doctor in Texas , USA, and this is one of the things she would always ask u to do whenever u tel her u missed ur period. Let site an example: my LMP was Feb 15, did several urine hcg home test with lots of negative results. Went to hospital April 1st to do blood test but still negative result ... Do u blv that when I did scan the same hospital that gave me negative blood test told me I am 10 weeks gone. So can u see that it was the scan that gave me 100% confirmatory positive pregnancy test... Even if u google and read online, it will tell u that if either or both the urine / blood test gives u false positive, the best is to go for scan. At the end I think I will agree with the woman that said the best confirmatory positive pregnancy is SCAN.. I AM AN EVIDENCE OF SCAN. IF NOT FOR SCAN, I WOULD HAVE LOST MY BABY... Nb: Ignore any typo |

Giddyperson: Please discuss number one with the doctors. You can't risk having just anyone stitch it again.
For number two, the easiest way it's to throw it in a pit toilet if you know any. Otherwise, ask your husband to dig a kinda deep hole and bury it if you have the space. It's better to bury it than flush it or throw into pits oooo. Abeg find secrete place/ space to bury placenta.... It's not something to joke with oooo. |

ToyosiR: Your doctor calculates your stage of pregnancy or your gestational age using your last menstrual period (LMP). She will ask you when the first day of your last period was and from there, count how many weeks pregnant you are.
This is also how your doctor will estimate your due date by counting 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. However, be aware your due date is just an estimate.
An ultrasound scan gives you a more accurate picture. It estimates your baby's age by measuring different parts of your baby's body such as her head, abdomen, and legs.
In the second and third trimester, a difference in age of up to two weeks is considered normal between your gestational age and the ultrasound scan age. After all, your gestational age doesn't start from the actual day of conception but from your last menstrual cycle.
For example, your anomaly scan (TIFFA or ultrasound level II scan) may date your baby at around 19 weeks when your doctor considers you already 20 weeks pregnant. If this happens, your doctor will not be alarmed but she'll keep an eye on how your baby is developing in subsequent scans just to be sure that the difference in age doesn't increase.
You may also find that your scan report indicates different ages for different body parts of your baby. Your baby's legs might correspond to 21 weeks of pregnancy while her head might indicate 20 weeks. This is completely normal as each baby has different proportions and grows slightly differently. If all babies grew exactly the same way, all babies around the world would be the same height and weight when they were born!
If your scan reveals more than two weeks' difference between your gestational age and the scan age, your doctor will probably ask you to have another scan. The difference could mean different things depending on what stage of your pregnancy you are in:
First trimester
A difference in age in your first trimester could indicate two things: If you had irregular periods, your due date calculation based on your last menstrual cycle is often not accurate. If this is your situation, the dates of the scan will be used to determine your due date and the stage of pregnancy you are at. There may be delayed conception, meaning that the ovulation may have occurred later in the cycle than expected. If there is a large difference between the expected size of your baby and what the scan reveals, it could indicate a missed miscarriage or a blighted ovum.
In the case of a missed miscarriage or blighted ovum, there will also be no heartbeat. Your doctor will ask you to get a second scan to confirm this and then discuss your next steps. You may miscarry naturally, or may have to go for a small operation to remove the contents of the uterus.
Unfortunately, miscarriages are quite common in the first trimester. If this happens to you, it can be devastating, but rest assured that it doesn't mean that you'll miscarry again the next time you get pregnant.
Second trimester If your scan shows a difference of more than two weeks in the second trimester, your doctor will ask you to have another scan after a month.
If your baby is smaller than expected for her gestational age over more than one scan, it could mean that your baby isn't getting enough nutrition. This could be because: you are not eating well there is inadequate blood flow in the umbilical cord premature ageing or calcification of the placenta.
Your baby is attached to the placenta via the umbilical cord. All your baby's nutrients come from your diet and reach your baby through the blood that is carried to her by the umbilical cord.
If your diet is everything that it should be, your baby might be small because not enough blood is reaching her.
Your doctor will prescribe a Doppler scan that measures the blood flow in the umbilical cord. Your doctor will also look at the stage of calcification of the placenta.
If the Doppler scan finds that the umbilical arteries are normal, it might just mean that you have a small baby.
If your baby is larger than her expected gestational age by more than two weeks, it could be a sign of gestational diabetes.
Gestational diabetes can make your baby grow larger than normal, or be large for gestational age (LGA). If your sugar level is found to be high, your doctor will advise you on your diet and treatment. If you do develop gestational diabetes, you may find it reassuring to know that it usually goes once your baby is born.
Third trimester It is more difficult to measure your baby in the third trimester because she's much bigger and curls up in your womb. She may even have dropped making it harder for your doctor to see some of her body parts in a scan.
At this stage of pregnancy, the length of the thigh bone, also known as the femur, is usually used to see if your baby is the right size. The circumference of your baby's tummy, known as abdominal circumference (AC), shows if your baby has gained weight as expected.
If after repeated scans, your baby is found to be either too small or too big for her gestational age, your doctor may suggest an early delivery.
Whatever the case be sure to keep all your prenatal appointments. If your doctor suspects a problem, you're likely to need additional monitoring as your pregnancy progresses.
https://www.babycenter.in/x1045342/my-babys-age-on-the-scan-report-is-different-to-my-stage-of-pregnancy-what-does-this-mean Thank u so much. I really appreciate this. God bless u so much. |
