Education › We Are Misusing Some Terms 1. Education 2. School 3. Knowledge 4. Career by DeejaywonDJ1(op): 11:54pm On Jun 10, 2019 |
WE ARE MISUSING SOME TERMS HERE
1. Education 2. School 3. Knowledge 4. Career
Education refers to learning generally and is not limited to schools.
School is a curriculum based setting that primarily teaches and nurtures a child's mind.
Knowledge simply refers to what you know. After reading this, your knowledge adds up. It has always does. So it's not reliant on schools.
Career refers to a chosen field motivated by interest of a person and dedicated to ensure survival.
Listen to me, and feel free to quote me, education ends in Secondary school, career is the only motivation for tertiary institutions.
When Zuckerberg left Harvard, he left because he believes in his mind that he could develop a career in his own without relying on a myopic syllabus.
He tried his luck, that is free to do, it worked. You know what happened next? The school saw that they couldn't have built him up to achieve what he had and they awarded him HONORARY DOCTORATE.
That is same with so many people like him. Check out great people, it is not school syllabus that got them where they are but ability to think and make things happen.
This is what many do not possess. That is not a problem, but if you possess such ability it is best that it is used judiciously.
Anyone saying education is key should note that a SSCE holder from a standard school is fully educated officially and he may choose his career from any angle.
It is also myopic and less intelligent to think that it is all about BSc MSc while there's nothing in the head than log of syllabuses which unfortunately would be forgotten in few years and most unfortunately is not applicable to our day to day lives at least within our Nigeria... By pizardguy |

Acidosis: If the online job is transcription, data entry or writing related service, you should consider your education. However, if you're skilled in other professional fields such as graphics design, data science, or data analysis, focus on your skill.
Skill, work experience plus money in the bank can take you places and get you any degree of your choice eventually. You may also consider accredited online short courses(credible ads are all over the place onlin) since your hustle keeps you online. In 1-2 years, you can gather around 5 certified foreign certificates with licenses all in your comfort zone. I tell you bruv, no BSc holder will come close to your worth in the marketplace. Very candid advise, everybody want to work but nobody want to create job we rely heavily on government for job creation. Some who have aspire to be creator of jobs end up being in the labour market because of the power of their certificate which do not allow them to think outside the box. |

If you're literate enough I'll advice you to continue building your empire. You're mistaken education for certificate sir. You can acquire certificate at anytime of your life but that money may be difficult for you to get in the future because the opportunity might not present itself again in the future. But make sure you keep on educating yourself continuously, education is beyond going to school acquiring certificates. The skill you possessed is part of education as well, just make sure you're literate. And make sure you read for at least 1hour per day, it'll help you acquire knowledge on a long run which is the true definition of education. |

grandstar: Things are getting worse for Huawei. I thought it would only be US companies complying. More companies will join.
My worry now is that the US may blacklist more Chnese companies. This would adversely affect the Chinese economy.
Worse, I suspect this blacklisting has support in Asia. Taiwan will be jubilant. China has been trying to eat Taiwans lunch for instance. It's muscling in in areas where Taiwan has comparative advantage by encouraging Chinese companies to manufacture those items in China. Left to the market to determine, China should be importing. This is adversely affecting Taiwans economy. |

You are just a nairalander airing your opinion on nairaland. I’m telling you about the analysis of a real player in the game of international trade. What an American business executive said on a public radio about moving American plants to other countries outside of China. I think he knows what he’s talking about more than a nairalander does. You talking about Chinese living in order countries. How does that concern the government of those countries in attracting foreign investment into their countries. I’m talking real life facts. You are talking sentiments. Real life fact as how, please use your google very well sir, I've checked again they're in number 28 sir maybe you should recheck. Brother, I'll advice you to visit Quora. You are already familiar with Nigeria attitudes/behaviours, they're first class and millionaire online but non degree holder/pass categorised or extremely poor offline. They mentally derange, unintelligent, dull and expert at discouraging, insulting, fake, negative set of people. Just visit Quora, that place is full of highly intellectual gurus they'll find soluble solutions to your problems without insults and abuses. Especially those India guys, though they're not that good with English but they're problem solvers, but Nigerians will be busy picking out your grammatical blunders and mistakes by insulting, criticizing & abusing you without any meaningful contribution here. And some Finnish guys there are IT gurus. |

lawani: You can't say Akure is Ekiti because the Ijesha also claim them, so Akure is Akure. Not Ekiti if Ijesha is not Ekiti. Same is true for all those places you mentioned in Ondo, they are more of Ijesha because there is actually no unit as Ekiti because all the town hold themselves separate from others and speak related but different dialects. It is now that an Ekiti identity is being created in Nigeria.
If not for the incursion of the Benin empire and later Ibadan in Osogbo. Large parts of Ondo and Ekiti would have been Ijesha as they were in the past. Sir, you have little knowledge of Yoruba history with everything you'd wrote all through. You need to read a lot of history books because all your claims are mere hearsays.... |
