Rent land where you have access to tractors, water, housing and security, farm veggies like tomatoes and peppers, Okro, Ugwu etc continually on 3-4 hectares. I'm planning on renting an hectare here in Ibadan around October or November for same purpose. I've saved 200k for it and I'm saving up for pumping machine too. |

Buy 1 acre of land anywhere you can get it below 200k per plot (1m). Fence it with mesh wire (1m).
Build 2 brooding room for turkey, noiler and broiler at 1.5m (750k each) depending on the cost of materials and labour in you area
Build three 150 capacity turkey layers pen at cost cost of 1.5m (500k each).
Build 100 capacity goat pen at the cost of 300k (no need for flooring).
Build your water system (dig well and buy two submersible water pumps). 400k plus tank
Buy all the necessary poultry equipment which is less than 100k.
Buy 1 generator and plan for 2000w solar power 1.3m
Move in to one of your brooding room.
Buy 250 day old turkey (250k) and look around for mentorship, retain 100 females and 25 males and sell the rest. Repeat this continuously
Buy 70 female goat (doe) and 7 he goat cultivate 2 hectares for maize and alfalfa silage to feed them which will cost you less than 200k. 1m
The remaining cash and the six weeks you're selling continously will cater for you and your weekly budget till your first set of layers begins to lay. With over 600 layers at your disposal after the end of the first year you'll be making at least 800k weekly as profit after all expenses have been deducted. It's risky but you can minimize the risk if you don't welcome visitors in your farm or stay long in hatchery.
Don't hire any staff until your second year. |

Another is: based on ur location and how sociable you may happen to be, U may invest in buying of shoes directly from someone that makes shoes(different styles). You may get them within the range of 2k to 2.5k. Just add 500 naira profit on each shoe to make it go fast. Within 5 months with the right marketing, you should be able to double your capital or more sef..

You should have signed up for Tony Elumelu Foundation entrepreneurial training program, even if you are not selected for seed capital you would have gained a lot of experience business wise.. Your best bet is to look for 3 to 6 people with the same amount to start a registered incorporated company with equal share prices with. 70k - 100k will do the registration depending on number of shares and lawyer. There are lot of businesses you can start with that amount, but make sure you get enough business training especially on marketing concepts.
And note before you start any business, make sure you have enough money for feeding and rent for 3 good months.
I plan to start selling vegetables at any busy place, I've earmarked 200k for it too |

busoye19: I've been using Quickcheck for over 3 years now, haven't had any issues with them. Once I was in default, I expected the money in my account to pay off the loan by a Friday, which was the last day. Unfortunately, something went wrong at the other end as the money couldn't get into my account. Quickcheck called me the next day (Saturday) and I explained the situation to them, that the money would get to them unfailingly the following Monday. I ended up paying as promised with no hassle, no embarrassment, no additional interest charges. Ditto with Carbon and Branch. I have never had a problem with any of them. I messaged them immediately the issue occurred and explained to them that it wasn't intentional and sent the money back to them within 15 minutes to the providus account they created on my behalf, but they still go ahead to deduct my money after 35 days including the interest (1,500 naira) and the accrued late fees of 5,600 naira despite several mails. |

Well, CBN & Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission already replied to the mail I sent to quickcheck which I copied both of them and they said they'll be having a joint meeting with EFCC and ICPC today to investigate our various complaints. I already sent all evidence to them and they acknowledge my concerns which shouldn't warrant interest not to talk of late fees charges in the first place |

Audacious19: Run away from quickcheck.. I repeat run away from quickcheck.. Those guys are pure scammers in a diplomatic manner..
I collected a loan of 22k with an intrest of 7k to be paid twice, 26th Aug and 26th Oct On 26th august I made payments, which they said they never got, this money was sent back to my acct, at exactly 12am I checked the app, I was already added a late fee of 140 naira which i added and paid for 14650.. I got a mail with their acknowledgment, after a week i got a call from thier agent that am owing them 1000+ on late payment, I thought it was a joke i check the app it was already 1200, I sent a mail and they said it was because i made late payment.. All effort to ask them to stop the daily intrest and check my payment history even with my payments receipts were abortive.. They said they will not stop charging me daily for a late payment. I got angry and paid off the loan with the balance of 14650 yet again, meaning i have paid the loan with the agreed intrest.
As am typing this they are adding 100% intrest daily for late payment on a loan i have settled...
I just ignored them.. I have already sent them countles of mails over this and will not send another Since i have my prove of payment am seeking for clearity if i can message the CBN this guy's are frauds..
Op Kindly note that quickcheck is owned by jumia pay Oh I see |

There is this online loan company Quickcheck I used to borrow money from around 2019 when my salary was not stable and I used to pay back in time. So around August my phone screen broken and started malfunctioning, since I have jumia account so I wanted to deposit to it to order for the screen replacement, I managed to login into the jumiapay account with the phone since I can auto deposit into the account because my debit card details is with them. When I wanted to proceed with the transaction the phone immediately started malfunctioning again and I off it because if I did it'll work for few minutes before it start to malfunction again. wwhen I switched it on I saw an alert of 20k from quickcheck, immediately I sent a mail to them using my small phone and transfer the money back to them. But they still go ahead to deduct the interest and accrued late fees unknown to me because they have my debit card details. So when it was time for delivery I checked my balance and 7k is gone in my account and I decided to check what happened on jumiapay with the same phone, on clicking on the Quickcredit button same thing happened all over again unknowingly because I didn't get any messages, so I paid for the delivery and fixed the screen immediately. Then I decided to check my balance on uba app and see that I still have 12k excess which shouldn't be. I decided to check jumiapay to know what happened it was the same thing all over again, I sent the 12k to them with explanation like four times on different platforms. But they still go ahead to deduct the money from my account. |

Culture › Re: Yoruba Culture And Tradition: 10 Cultural Taboos In Yoruba Land by DeejaywonDJ1(m): 3:10pm On Nov 08, 2021 |
balash: Every people everywhere have their cultural ways of life and what is considered normal and acceptable for community folks in those areas. The need to sanitize the society and prevent cultural abuses has led to the establishment of cultural taboos and abominations – what people in given areas must never do to keep the society going.
The Igbos, Hausas, Ibibios, Igalas, Beroms, and every tribe in Nigeria and other parts of the world have cultural taboos; the following are those of the Yorubas and what you must never do in Yorubaland:
i. Same-sex marriage is forbidden: Americans and people in Europe may have legalized same-sex marriage – that is, gay and lesbian marriages, but it is forbidden in Yorubaland. Some people in the northern part of this country have been caught in the act of sexual union between males, but such is an abomination in Yorubaland and must never be practised.
ii. A strapped baby must never fall from its mother’s back: It is an abomination in Yorubaland for a baby to fall from its mother’s back. And this is why many new mothers are warned to strap their babies firmly to their back again if their baby is not well positioned. It is believed that a male child that falls from its mother’s back will always lose his wife at adulthood, and a female will always have a lover die atop her when she grows up. And where a baby eventually falls from its mother’s back, the mother is expected to carry out some rituals to prevent evil from happening to the child when it grows.
iii. Suicide is an abomination: Committing suicide is an abomination in Yorubaland, and a dangling body must not be lowered down until some sacrifices are performed to appease the gods. Even at that, the body of such individual will be buried in the evil forest and outside town to avoid the anger of the gods. The family of an individual that commits suicide will be tainted forever in the community.
iv. Pregnant women must never walk the streets in broad daylight: What this means is that pregnant women must not go about the streets or go to the market or go to the stream when the sun is high up at its zenith – between 12 pm – 3 pm when the sun is at its brightest. It is believed that evil spirits roam the town when the sun is at its brightest and they could enter into a pregnant woman, making her to give birth to deformed babies.
v. Whistling at night is forbidden: Men and women are not allowed to whistle at nights in Yorubaland. Whistling at nights is believed to invite demons and evil spirits into the house to torment people. Additionally, it is believed that whistling could attract snakes and reptiles into the house at night.
vi. Adultery is forbidden: It is forbidden for married women to commit adultery with another man who is not their husbands. This taboo is more critical against women than against men, so it is highly frowned upon for a wife to cheat on her husband. A man that suspects that his wife is cheating could be tempted to lace her with magun, and this would lead to the death of her adulterous lover.
vii. A king must never look inside his royal crown: It is an abomination for a king in Yorubaland to look into the inside of his royal crown. A king must wear a crown but he must never peer into it. The day he does it is the day he will join his ancestors. Kings could be allowed to do this if they insist on committing suicide.
viii. Corpse of a person that drowns must not be brought for burial at home: What this means is that the corpse of a person who dies in a river must be buried near the river, and the corpse of a person who falls from a tree must be buried at the base of the tree. Bringing their corpses home is believed to irk the gods who may cause people to die without causes.
ix. A king must never prostrate for anyone again in his entire life: A royal king is considered a demi-god in Yorubaland and he must never prostrate to greet anyone in his entire life.
x. Eating of cats, dogs, pigs are forbidden: It is generally considered unclean to consume dog meat, pork, and cat meat among others. While many Yorubas will never taste dog meat but gladly consume African rabbit (Okete), the Ondo people considers Okete an abomination but will gladly eat dog meat with relish. Majority of what you wrote above is fallacy. 1. Yorubas don't care about how you live your life so far it doesn't affect them negatively. 2. You're a correct about this, the reason for this is to avoid carelessness on the part of the person that carry the baby at their back. 3. It's never an abomination but people think that it's bad to take one's own life. Kings, soldiers, Balogun etc commit suicide if they failed, could not meet targets, lose war or their abode were captured during war or raid. 4. You're correct about this but the reason for this is that it's not advisable for pregnant women to moving around during the time when the sun is very hot and in the night when they can't be identified that they are pregnant. 5. You're partially right the reason for this is that most town guards in those days used whistling as means of communication and sometimes whistling invites some reptiles. 6. Adultery is never a taboo for women or men but it's subjected to individual conviction, there are lots of people who have known Ale (concubines) even if they have 10 wives, Sometimes occurs within family compound or interlope to other compounds or outside the town. 7. You're correct about this. 8. You're correct about this too. 9. You're correct about this 10. You're very wrong, Ogun worshippers have been eating dog since time immemorial, pig are consume in Yorubaland since ìgbà ìwáṣẹ̀. There is nothing like general taboos in Yorubaland, each hamlet, village, town, cities and groups have different taboo trying to foist general taboos on them is unreasonable |
