okoroemeka: it might not be nematodes because hot peppers are Hardy and tolerant to nematodes and also it takes at least 30-40 days for the visible knots to develop on the roots, that is why it is highly advisable to burn grasses on top of the nursery spot to sterilize the soil before actual nursery and the application of nematicide in every planting is also recommended for highly infected soil thanks boss, this definitely helps |

TV/Movies › Re: Jagun Jagun: Femi Adebayo's Movie Gets Tongues Wagging by DeejaywonDJ1(m): 7:18am On Aug 12, 2023 |
MT: Oga, Yorubas dont fight like Romans. That movie is a roman empire classic movie.
In the olden days, we read it that the two commanders will face themselves and chant incantations till one commander overwhelms the other. Then fight will ensue.
The film misrepresents Yoruba culture so badly. Go and watch the "woman king" on netflix - it was a failed attempt to replicate it. One of the aspects I love most about the movie, Jagun-jagun is that its slight deviation from the usual representations of ancient Yoruba warfare in films. It's understandable if some of us erroneously believe that Yoruba did go to wars with charms only--that's one of the damages Yoruba Nollywood has done to our history and our orientations. Some are so surprised to see the display of martial arts in Jagun-jagun. They query how Yoruba warriors could engage in sword fights like they see in Chinese movies. It's not their fault, it's because of the standards set by the Nollywood. Though, this is not the first time of seeing sword fights in Yoruba movies, I think the same was done in the "Ogun Abele Ti Je," if my memory serves me right, only that this Jagun-jagun is one of it's kind in the recent time. We need to start unlearn somethings we learned in the past. We would definitely witness more of such introductions and reintroductions in Nigerian movies henceforth. One of them is shoes. NOTE: in addition, the shapes and formations of Yoruba swords are different. Also, our iron and it's products were black, not white. copied

Chidiebubeoji: Ok sir.
If you're using my kind of spacing, half a plot can take you close to 2k stands. You can do 1.5k stands. So if you're watering manually, I suggest you run half of the plot. If this is managed well, it will give you Satisfying results.
About the 100k stuff. If it's in my area, 100k should be enough for me to do the half plot (with manual irrigation oh).
Cost of agro inputs differ from State to State. I don't know of Ogun.
The following are the basic materials you'll need;
I'll assume it's my project and put estimated prices
1. Good hybrid seeds ( consult your market to know which one is most respected) 50g- 14k 2. Enough manure. 10k+
3. At least 1 bag of 50kg NPK 15 15 15 20k+
4. Zforce 1kg, or any good contact fungicide 5k 5. Cabrio duo or any good systemic fungicide 9k
6. Insecticide 250ml 3k
7. Nematicide ( if your are using the land for the first time) 3.5k
8. Urea about 2 paints 5k
9. Staking rope. (poly twine). 1 bag 14k
10. Caterpillar force insecticide (for fruit quality) 100g - 3k
Total - roughly 86.5k
11. And every other inputs you find necessary to add e.g Foliar fertilizers, other granule fertilizers... Etc
Note: additional cost, if you're buying sticks or bamboo for staking. Additional cost, if you're employing labourers. What's the name of nematicides you're using |

Agriculture › Re: Finally My Boar Goats Arrived by DeejaywonDJ1(m): 4:16pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
PigBarn: For over a year I have been looking for boar goats to purchase, I checked here on nairaland but the negative comments got me scared of dealing with anyone here.
Last month I got a job to build some pig pens, I had to visit the site to mark out the positioning of the pig pens and plan the layout of the farm. To my surprise I got to see this famous boar goats I have been looking for, I was marveled, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I practically spent all my time when ever I had free time on site with the boar goat section of the farm. I learnt alot.
Gradually I became friends with the farmers and I had to open up and tell them I have only heard but never seen a boar goat and all I knew it was a breed from South African. To God be the glory I did my job perfectly and they well were impressed. My mind told me, now that everyone is happy ask the management if they can subsidize the price of this goats for u because the are actually expensive. Gbam, God did it, my request was granted I was offered them at a very wonderful price, wish i paid for from the money I was paid as my consultancy fee to let them know how determined I was about this, seeing this the owner of the farm was touched and had to gift me two little goats as a bonus and that am always welcome with the price I bought them. Grace!
I only had problems bringing them back to my base but yesterday finally my goats arrived.
I pray this farm grows to greater heights. Lovely, where's the farm located, I will like to visit the place this weekend |

Tohsynetita1: For 100k, crop farming is the best. just try planting 3 months crops. like tomatoes, pepper, cucumber, watermelon, vegetables. for instance, For watermelon farming, get land, an acre around 10k, even if you could get half acre, like 5k, buy seeds, 500g of kaolack is around 10k which has like 6 thousand seeds. pre planting herbicide should be around 3 litre that's like 7k. Get dried poultry dropping for as cheap as 5k even it could be free. That's an organic manure. Get post emergence herbicide, 1 litre of fusilade forte is 10k. you can use that for almost 4 times but you only use once for first planting, you will still have it for another planting season. This is because 1 litre is for one hectare according to company. You buy pesticides and fungicide depending on the disease you experience. That should be around 15k. Al together, everything is 42k . let's say 50k. Don't be surprised, that half of acre will give you like 3k balls of watermelon, 1m spacing, 3 seeds hole. 30m by 30 m is 900, so, that's 900 holes, 900 by 3, if you have 3 seeds per hole, if all the seeds grow, you can have like 2700 balls of melon in the space of 90 days maxi. Get buyers in your environment and sell. with your 50k, you could become millionaire. 2700 balls is almost 1.3 million if you sell at 500 naira each. wow this is lovely sir, I need your contact for further clarification sir |

Please may I know what business I can invest ₦3 million into that can yield a profit of at least ₦150,000 monthly?
Your feedback will be appreciated. If you are interested in poultry business (Turkey) you can set the farm up in your area if it's not a residential area, I can work with you for the first year. It's stressful though but highly profitable. 1m can build you a sizable pen 1.5m can take of 250 turkey (200 female and 50 male) till they'll start laying |
