Agbegbaorogboye: Folks like Lere Olayinka are cogent reasons why anyone must detest the job of a PR person or media manager especially for politicians Just imagine. Does he after spending the whole day releasing statement upon statement as an attack dog barking at every and anyone who says anything with the word Wike in it, get home and breathes a sigh of contentment at a day well spent? Does Lere teach his children to respect elders and their peers or to learn to give punch for punch even if it involves their grannies? How does he feel when he's on his bed at night waiting for melatonin to take over and he begins to count on his ceiling all the people he has insulted? Does he feel pride at his job or a sense of being lost? Very well said. |

LordReed: Believing something doesn't make it true. What they wrote and believe may not bear any resemblance to the truth, so we need some other way to verify them. There is much that supports the Ancient Alien hypothesis other than what is written. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Directed Evolution? by DeepSight(op): 11:05am On Jun 03, 2025 |
LordReed: So is it possible or impossible for us to know about these creators/gods? I think it is possible for us to get some knowledge of our creators if they are beings dwelling in this universe. The Ancient Aliens Theory for example, is one possibility of who / what exactly our creators are / were. There are extensive Sumerian and Hindu writings which strongly suggest this and it is hard to see why some of those writings would have been put together in the same timeline as some known human lineages, if they were not believed by the writers to be real history. However if our creator or creators are transcendental, existing completely outside this dimension, this universe, this time and space, it may well be impossible to know anything of it or them. |

LordReed: Which means the "director" has a goal in mind but we don’t see that. This is only to be expected. It is almost inconceivable, if we have a creator or creators, that we can conclusively decipher the motivations and/ or end-game of the creator(s). Also why would an the so called "director" want diseases to thrive that has the potential to kill an entire species? . I must confess I have no anser to this. I can only say that if indeed there is a creator or creators, their designs would be so well above our pay grade that we probably cannot comprehend them. A small analogy would be a smaller creature wondering why humans let milk get spoilt before consuming it as cheese. Heaven knows if our diseases serve some idiosyncratic purpose to the gods which will be as indecipherable to us as our letting milk spoil will be to some other creature. Why would entire species even flourish then go extinct? According to some accounts there have been more spcies that have gone extinct then we currently know Same way I guess civilizations rise and fall. And the interest of the gods in each civilization might be as shallow as having a reality show for entertainment. |

Jakumo: I made an assumption that Lagos must be safe because I never actually live there but only visit the place, during which it appears safe compared to other parts of Nigeria. Much of Lagos is indeed safe - to the extent that it is largely untroubled by the spectacular killings and kidnappings by bandits roaming the country. Specifically, elite neighborhoods are specially safe. |

ElSudani: Let us assume they are corrupt like you said but there's no record of any project they started and then abandoned midway. Therefore, there's no valid reason to believe this road will not be completed in 50 years like you said.
The significant towns are all reachable by road currently.
You should ask the people in the coastal states. Its interesting that you are silent about the contract being awarded to someone convicted of fraud in two countries and the fact that procurement processes were not followed - and I should add that the funds were not appropriated as required by law. |
Politics › Re: 30km Done — Just 720km To Go. Tinubu: The Initiator And Actualizer! by DeepSight(m): 2:24pm On Jun 02, 2025 |
ElSudani: What are these antecedents? What are the projects they abandoned midway? By antecedents, I refer to their corruption and guile. "Because there are already existing roads to all of those places."
This is not a valid argument at all, it is impossible to have one road connecting everywhere. The significant towns are all reachable by road currently, I dont know if you are referring to every last hamlet. |
Politics › Re: 30km Done — Just 720km To Go. Tinubu: The Initiator And Actualizer! by DeepSight(m): 2:00pm On Jun 02, 2025 |
ElSudani: The road is not 100% public my friend. Get your facts right. It is still public by whatever measure, even if there is an alleged component of private investment. Mind you N1 Trillion of Public funds have been paid upfront - and the so-called private component will probably be a ruse, going by the antecedents of the contractor and his partner in crime, the president. A road connecting several states is not necessary! By what reason sir? Because there are already existing roads to all of those places. |
Politics › Re: 30km Done — Just 720km To Go. Tinubu: The Initiator And Actualizer! by DeepSight(m): 1:44pm On Jun 02, 2025 |
ElSudani: Just like some of you said the Dangote refinery will not be completed in 40 years. This road is obviously going to be completed before the second term of the president. The terrain is difficult but some sections are going to be faster than others. The Dangote Refinery was a private project, this road is public. The Dangote Refinery was handled by proper contractors, this road was awarded to a convict in two countries - Gilbert Chagoury, convicted in the USA and Switzerland for fraud. The Dangote Refinery was necessary, this road is completely unnecessary. The Dangote Refinery went through all regulatory and compliance processes, this road was awarded without reference to Public Procurement Guidelines. The Dangote Refinery has no conflict of interest, this road is riddled in nepotistic corruption. |

Politics › Re: Reforms: Only Tinubu Could Have Done This - Penguin2 by DeepSight(m): 8:55am On Jun 02, 2025 |
Penguin2: Fantastic submission!
But the only difference here is that while in my analogy, the parents of the child is permanent, in practice, as it relates to Nigeria, the parent (president) is not permanent.
So, while we may currently have a parent who, instead of using the money saved from the removal of the oxygen pipe from our sibling in the hospital for the good of the family chooses rather to use the money to take concubines, buy cars and engage in several other profligacies, tomorrow we may get a parent who is not like the current one and he will use the money judiciously for what it should be used for.
And then the only gratitude we will owe our former parent was having the courage to see through the removal of oxygen pipe from a sibling who had rendered all of redundant. The removal of the subsidy was a bad decision but the simultaneous floating of the naira was worse. What should have been addressed was the corruption in the subsidy regime.. |
