Ive always wanted to ask how these animals learnt all these and from whom?

It's even funny cause their reproductive and parenting trait don't evolve(the first documented behavioral adaptation of any animals still remain same even 1300years after)

Animals are deliberately deprived of the "speech element" that's present in humans and no evolution would ever made them reach that level

Stolen crude possible but hundred of millions of barrels impossible. Such level of stealing cannot be done and ioc will just keep the crude pumping. Ioc only have the technology to extract the crude from the ground, these guys steal via connecting their pipes to that belonging to ioc. The ioc will have to be part of the deal to keep the tap running
They are part of it. Very opaque industry. Why do you think there was the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.

It was Patrick Aziza. He was one of Abacha's top men. There are reports online about his stealing and people he convicted and sentenced to death wrongly. There was Patrick Azazi from Bayelsa (during Jonathan) but that one's thievery was small-scale compared to these ones. The interviewee's mistake was mentioning that he was a member of the NSA, instead of saying he was tried by the NSA during Obasanjo's regime.
Well. . . . . . I wonder oh, but he specifically said "former NSA" . . .
I know many people inadvertently mix up the names.

What if the family of Late Patrick Aziza drag him to court?

It occurred to me that the Aziza's can sue, but it was an obvious error. The names are very similar.

Many people are just so dumb. Imagine he mentioned the name, some people are still arguing over rubbish. Patrick Aziza, former governor of Kebbi state, died in 2014. Probably stolen during the military regime. He was one of the people that brought Abacha to power. It's possible that with inflation gains, the money grew to $69 billion. But the failure of Buhari's government to even attempt to recover the money is total ineptitude.
He meant Azazi though. Not Aziza. Aziza was never NSA.

Don’t forget soldiers are stealing, politicians are stealing, oil majors are stealing, there’s spillage, Niger delta boys are stealing. So I can guarantee you the information of 69bn traced to one person is false

You’ll need at least 4 administrations to steal that much from crude and at the presidential level. Even IBB was was $5bn during the gulf war. Obono himself did not say he confirmed it. He was asked to pay money to get the details. Which sounds like 419 boys cos you recover first before you get paid not the other way round
You are still saying one person, and you are still working with official figures when we are discussing a black market off the records. I really cant help you.

As for international oil prices, those off the record sales have always been there so its not like one new big injection that will topple the market.

In legitimate recovery processes of stolen funds, you provide a service before getting paid

The people who provided him with this information asked for money upfront in order to provide him with the details in Texas. How does 419 operate?
Now you have just made your first rational point. Namely that those who said they have the information could be suspicious. And I wholly agree with that point. However such a claim must be investigated. To have it entirely ignored the way the government did is very telling. The first easy step was that they claimed to be an American Law Firm. That is eminently verifiable. But no step whatsoever was taken.

Obono did not say he confirmed. He said he was told. But now you’re using hearsay as fact and even defending it. So you know how your reasoning sounds?
Once again I have to advise you to read carefully. I am not defending his statement as true, I have no clue if it is. I cant possibly. I am saying that such a thing is possible. I hope I dont have to repeat this ad infinitum.

Nigeria has not always been this corrupt. So we have historical data that close to real numbers. I uploaded oil production from 1998. We don’t have 69bn for one government to steal. If you say over multiple administrations then fine.
The oil industry in Nigeria has been opaque for decades. Notoriously opaque. And yes, multiple administrations can be at play. These people play at a very high level my friend.

You are still caught in the thought of what is available to steal within official records. I say for the umpteenth time that what is being discussed is entirely off record. It does not come into any records whatsoever.

Let me draw your attention to the fact that Hosni Mubarak alone had close to $100 billion. Food for thought.

Within just 3 months of the Buhari administration, I knew he was going to be an abysmal failure. And I made that prediction here on Nairaland.
The body language of any new governor or president in the first few months tells you what to expect over the coming years.

For instance, in this Tinubu Administration, he has done absolutely nothing about reducing the cost of governance. All the senior officials of the Senate and House of Assembly are either under active EFCC indictments or formerly convicted.
With overbloated and padded budgets , more and more borrowings, this government, unfortunately, is already failing.

@Yankee101 - to give you an analogy, what you are doing is calculating the amount that Nigeria makes from gold and using that to say it is impossible for those stealing gold and mining gold illegally outside the system to steal a certain amount of gold off record.

Thats what you are doing. And that is totally irrational.

Stolen crude is true but not enough to meet such numbers. $69Billion at $70 per barrel is 980 million barrels.

Not possible.
It is possible when done over several years and you must account for the fact that more crude is stolen from our territorial waters than ever appears in our official records at all, not to speak of the FG Budget.

I will advise you to read more carefully. I have not said for sure he is correct. I have said it is more than possible - as against what many of you are saying - that it is impossible.

From the get-go you never understood that what was being discussed would never come from any official record or budget or earnings. That showed you dont know about the complexity of crude theft.

My friend, lets not even start. It involves the Navy and Presidency as well as many international players.

You can’t place $69bn in an individuals account just like that directly from oil proceeds
Yes you can - "an individual" does not have to be a natural person. It can be a corporate person of many possible hues. There are several layers of complex proxy arrangements which make this possible all the time my friend.

Nigeria's budget is like $20billion. The person will have to steal 3 years budget to get that amount. Wise up. It is impossible.
It is not impossible - crude theft does not reflect in the budget ab initio. And when it is being done at the highest level over years, it is possible for such crude theft to amount to that and even much, much more.

He said one person with 60 and Azazi with 9
You probably didn’t even listen to what you’re defending
My dear brother, I listened carefully. He said one account had 69 billion - and referred to 9 billion of that same sum belonging to Azazi. One account, I repeat, one account. So that is clrealy a reference to a trust or proxy arrangement where the parties know who owns what within their arrangement.

This takes nothing away from the point, where you have an NSA involved with that single account, you are dealing with a group, a powerful group at the highest levels.

Perhaps it is you who didnt listen or is not reflecting - because a proxy arrangement does not even have to be obvious by the presence of an NSA on the record. A proxy could be anyone.

Look at this one. There are people richer than Dangote in this country but they can't defend their wealth because it is stolen wealth and they can't back it up with any industry or business.

Dangote is a businessman and tradesman. So his own wealth can be 'traced' to his businesses and can also be quoted by Forbes etc. but you see these politicians and retired generals, the foundation of their own wealth is basically from theft and corruption.

Dangote may be the richest Nigerian that we all know. There could be richer Nigerians but who are unknown due to the reason I have mentioned above

$69bn/$14bn is approximately 5 years or more than one tenure

You have to understand numbers to know 69 is not possible for only one person in one presidency
No one said it's one presidency. Also when an NSA is involved it is also unlikely to be one person. You are talking a high level cabal including presidents.

As for your figures I don't know how many times I will tell you crude theft is not part of reported earnings.

It even exceeds reported earnings if you know anything about the oil industry.
